That episode made me feel sick.

So there is supposed to be 3 weddings and a funeral in season 6. So far we have had two weddings and a funeral. So who is next. Oh wait did Bitsy and the guy lounge singer count? That would make 3 weddings.


I am happy for Carrie, she deserves romance and this guy can give it to her. Every one needs to grow and as Carrie said they have all move foward in their life, now it is her turn.

Mixed emotions about this episode...

I loved at the dinner, whern Sam was like, " I haven't used my vibrator since Smth got back" and he says " Awwwwww...thanks honey thats sweet". I cracked up!!

I don't know how I feel about Carrie going to Paris. Part of me feels like, she needs to move on, everyone else is. And I liked how she said about her column, that it's just her job, it's not her. But I still don't know if I like the Russian!! I guess I still want her to end up with Big.

So sad that there are only 2 episodes left!! So sad!! :( :(

I think she's foolish to go to Paris. I think she's following a Cindarella dream but, as most mature women realize (including Miranda), there is no such thing. I found his comment about being done with New York kind of disturbing. He said he's lived there for 3 years and now he's done with it. What happens if he lives with her for 3 years and then is done with her? She's given up a terrific career, isolated herself from friends and has no money of her own. It creeped me out. Then again, I've posted in other threads that I'd never allow myself to be completely financially dependent on a man and I think that's what this is rendering images of. At least if they got married, she'd be entitled to something if they break up. I'm also not sure I'd give up everything I had for a man, no matter who he is. Moving to a strange place where she knows nobody? She also said in the last episode that they have nothing in common except each other.

I just don't like them together and I'll be sad if the show ends with her going to Paris with him.

I had mixed emotions on last night. I still DO NOT like the Russian--I think he is old and cranky and I agree with AGDee that if he can be sick of NYC after three years, when will he get sick of Carrie. I would not be a fan of being a kept women! If I were Carrie, I would sublet my apartment.
But I did like her comment when Miranda said that no, she didn't like him and Carrie said "then you don't move to Paris with him". She does need to live her own life and if she wants to have a fairy tale, than have a fairy tale. But don't burn your bridges back to reality!!
I am going to seriously be rocking in a corner when the last epidsode is over!!

I didn't see it b/c I was watching the Grammys, but I figured from the previews last week that this was what would happen.

I think it wouldn't be so weird if they had developed the relationship with the Russian a little more quickly. It still feels very new and "walking on eggshells" for her to up and move to Paris. We all say he's not caring enough or whatever, but that's how Big was too. The only lovey-dovey relationship she's ever had was with Aiden. And she srewed that up royaly. I don't think she's cut out for the "perfect" guy, so maybe the Russian will be good for her in the long run - always a bit of a challenge, but obviously into her (unlike Big who wouldn't commit to her but was willing to marry someone else!).

Of course, maybe they will surprise us and she'll go to Paris, hate it, and move back to NY and live with Miranda and Steve in Brooklyn! :)

They CANNOT all end up with guys... I say that because that would be horribly 1950's. Isn't that the reason this show is so popular, becasue these women are so strong willed and independant? Here is my humble guess...

Charlotte - Gets Pregnant. (Dog is no sustitute, for HER at least)

Miranda - she is happy, she is resolved.

Samantha - Will be w/ Smith. He has shown his colors, and has won her over. Plus, her entire character is begging to settle down. How better than with Smith.

Carrie - single, new york, happy. Why change anything. There is NO WAY she will go to Paris. There is NO sexual chemistry between them anyways. Big has been an ass the whole time, why would that change? Most fans would be angry. Why would she end up with a guy who has constantly taken advantage of her???

I agree completely. The success of the show is built on that a woman in her 30's can be happy without a man. I think it would be disappointing to end the show with all of them as a couple.

I hope that Charlotte gets pregnant. That would be such a happy ending.

I'm also hoping that Samantha and Smith will stay together.

I agree that Carrie should stay in NY and be single.

I just saw the rerun last night-- such a great scene between Carrie and Miranda. The guest star-- that woman from Third Rock From the Sun was hilarious too.

I will be soooo pissed if she ends up with the russian!!!! He grosses me out for some reason.

Question: Any chance Big will come back? He was on her answering machine last week. I know she deleted it...but you know how that goes.

Miranda, I don't know what to think about her. She's been strange lately.

I hear you on this one, hoddytoddy! I hate him... I want them to end the show with the possibility of her getting back with Mr. Big. I don't think that they will allow the show to end with them all coupled up (way too cliche and it would perpetuate the 50's stereotype of you are only complete with a man...I think Candance Bushnell said something like this) but if they just left us believe they might get back together would be perfect.

It's funny I want Mr. Big in the picture because during the seasons of Aiden/Mr. Big conflict, I was a big Aiden proponent.

Also...I want to know Mr. Big's name!!!! If for some reason he does come back...do you think they'll reveal it???

a few thoughts...

1. This episode was one of the VERY VERY FEW where I looked at Carrie's outfit and thought, "Yep. I'd wear that." That dress she wore to the dinner party at Aleksandr's apt. was just stunning. Lately Carrie has been dressing like an insane old lady.

2. Aleksandr is sweet and romantic but there is just something yeeeccccchhhhhh about it all. It just screams dirty old man. It's like he's training a new pet instead of dating a girl. Just buy her some new toys, train her to fit into your world and do want you want, then pack her up and take her to Paris with you.

3. Carrie should get a NEW GUY. Mr. Big sucks. (haha, that sentence sounds really dirty) Every time I think he's redeeming himself, he plays head games again. Aiden is married w/ a kid. Berger was perfect until he suddenly became flakier than a head & shoulders commercial. (really! who breaks up with a @#%$! post it note?!) Carrie needs a new guy. My vote is to have her dump the Russian, get closure with Big (and tell us his freaking name), and then they can write a new guy into the episode and just give us hope she's found someone. They sort of did something similar with the episode where she met the Russian.

Big should be back, at least for a scene or two. There was a picture in one of my NY papers a week or so ago that was of Carrie and Big on the sidewalk in front of her apt. The caption read something like "SJP and Chris Noth tape their final scene together as SATC comes to an end".

Of course, they could be faking us all out!!! :)

After finally seeing the show last night, I think Carrie is right that Miranda is being negative for selfish reasons. I mean, be happy for her and her new adventure. If she goes to Paris and it doesn't work out, she comes back! It's not that big a deal! She's only in her mid-30's, she's been a successful writer in NY - she'll get another job! I think Miranda is being unfair. I also think the Russian was a lot sweeter in this episode. But I just can't not like hom because he's Misha!!!!!! :p

What I don't like about the russian is that he doesn't seem to have a sense of humor. Have you EVER seen the guy laugh??

I think Big should come back and tell her what a mistake it was to leave NY...then Carrie will realize that she shouldn't leave NY. Whether she gets back together with Big or now, I still think there has to be some kind of closure or something!

It will be a terrible ending if she goes to Paris.

They supposedly taped 3 or 4 different endings to the show so that not even the cast will know what happens at the end of the series.

I kinda don't beleive that whole "they taped 3 or 4 different endings." Maybe 2. I think they're saying that because a lot of people do see them fliming.

I dunno though...maybe it's just because I want to think Big is coming back.

did you guys hear that they did shots in Paris and Carrie was in them? Doesn't that mean she'd be going? Or maybe they just did that so they could have several different endings. With only two shows left-I hope she ends up with BIG!

Well she's definitely going to Paris. The title of the next epsiode is "An American Girl in Paris (Part Une)". That doesn't mean she'll stay for good, though.

OMG!!! I loved it! BIG is back! I cried! I was like cheering the whole time. I am so excited.

Who gets this excited about a TV show. I am going to put in the DVD and watch all the old ones.

BTW the cast is going to be on Oprah on Tuesday I think.

I felt bad for Big when Carrie was yelling at him! I don't really know their entire past because I didn't start watching til the 4th season. I want her to end up with Big!

I kinda felt bad for him too. However, if she is going to get back with him...she can't just take him back just like that..She owed him that big time for everything he's done to her. He deserved it.

Yeah, I felt bad for Big too. But she needed to say that him, especially after he did a 180 the last time they met up. I thought it was cute how he sat in Carrie's place at the table with the 3 of them. And then Miranda's line was so great. Paris is cool for a visit but she doesn't need to be there. He's not there for her. And you can tell his daughter will never like her. How bitchy was she? The fall in Dior was funny. Where did she get that huge dress from? That was crazy. But very Carrie.

And, yeah, they'll all be on Oprah on Tuesday. I'll be taping it.

OMG, I LOVED last night's episode!! I did think that when Carrie was screaming at Big in front of her apartment was so harsh. And then when she and the girls were at their farewell dinner, I started crying and pretty much kept up the entire episode!!

And how disappointing that she spent her first night in Paris all alone?? I really don't like the Russian. And that necklace he gave her was hideous. I hope she goes back to NY!! But her fall in Dior was priceless!! I screamed and my husband ran out of the room laughing-too damn funny!! I did think it was sort of sad-and kind of funny-when she's standing there watching the 4 girls eat lunch and laugh...and then they all see her standing there staring at them! :)

But I think my favorite was when Charlotte picked up the phone with Big and he goes to lunch with all of them. I loved what he said to them and how Miranda told him to go get her. But here's what I keep wondering-they keep showing Carrie lonely in Paris and not happy, and we know Big's going after her-so you think, oh they'll be togther, but I keep wondering if they twist it and she winds up not with him?? I don't think I could handle that. Because the Russian never sat with her friends and said all those things!! Now I'm rambling...:D

Getting my sedatives ready for next week's episode...

As much as I've always wanted Carrie tell off Big like that, I felt so bad for him at the same time. I really hope they end up together! They seem to be a much better fit than her and Alex.

BrownEyedGirl- I heard something about a SATC movie also.

I guess I just kind of look at it from the perspective of "Why are Carrie's friends pushing Big to get her?" After all of the crap that he has put her through, I would hope that they would want to encourage her to get on with her life and enjoy herself in Paris. I don't know, it's just like one of those relationships that needs to end and won't. I would hope that at that point in my life I would not be dwelling on past relationships with men who just were not good for me. Yeah, it's hard to move to a new place and get along without your friends, but people do that all the time.

It's amazing how much a TV show gets us all talking.

I absoulutly cried when the girls were at the farewell dinner. I would not have agreed with the whole Big thing, except when carrie was on the phone with miranda and made the comment about comparing all her men to Big. You know that she loves him, even though he has put her through hell, and that is going to be the man she will always want to be with. I think if they sent Big to paris and he was roaming around looking for her, and then sees her on the street......wow, how romantic would that be. I took off next sunday so I can be home to see it....now THAT is sad!!!

I thought it was sweet that all of the girls at least heard what Big had to say. A long time ago, I don't think they would have given him a chance. I was going to die if Miranda just sat there and didn't say anything..

Also...can you imagine if someone came all the way to Paris to get you like that? After you'd yelled at them the way she did. I don't think I could say no. Screw the weird artist with the bitchy, suicidal dauhgter.
