I know the Lilly brand has cache in some parts of the country, but if women are this desperate for these types of prints, why is no other vendor getting on this? Quite frankly, most of the items in our official store are, well, really geared toward collegians. I would think another vendor that produced more "adult" sorority gear could really step in here and do okay.

I think there's just not a demand for "mature" sorority gear for NPC sororities, in part because of the emphasis on collegiates. It's tough, because I wouldn't mind having some AXO-related items in my home or office that didn't look like they should be in the dorm room. |

So, in summary, I guess I want both a "here's a nice looking scarf" and "monthly NPC scarf day" to happen simultaneously. |

I don't mean to constantly compare apples to oranges here, but: almost every NPHC woman I know owns at least one sorority umbrella. The NPHC has, by far, made much more stuff for alumnae than the NPC has. Even though I'm not especially active (I donate but don't volunteer or belong to a chapter), I'd still like to have some items that don't look like they belong in a dorm room. |
What I notice are NPHC license plate frames - constantly. I finally gave up writing up sightings in the "Finding Your Letters" thread. I like them because they are subtle.

Per the Lilly Blog (here: http://blog.lillypulitzer.com/2012/0...-happens-next/)
The schedule is faster than last time. This is what it looks like: Late February: print reveal June: pre-ordering August: products available Of course there is the following stipulation:"these dates may shift at any time as they are only estimates and goals to get you your prints!" |
Well, yes. I myself have front and back Gamma Phi plates. I just notice more of the NPHC plates in my drives around Houston. I've also seen quite a few dual plates - Sorority/fraternity duos.

I think a lot of our products are geared towards collegians because that's who's buying them. Not sure which came first: the chicken or the egg. |

Okay, this Yankee just saw the prices on the Lilly website...I take back everything I said about being happy we're getting a print!

So one of my sisters told me today that Lilly was going to change Alpha Phi's print entirely because Phi Mu now has a print. I was looking on the Lilly website but haven't seen anything about it, other than there not being options for the bag and scarf. Does it make sense to people to do this?

Also... what? Where did you hear that Lilly was changing the Alpha Phi print completely? I don't think it makes sense, since apparently Lilly already had the winners of this round picked out before it even started. |

I haven't seen this posted, but the prints will be revealed sometime in February with items available for order in time for Fall recruitment. |

What are your fav and least fav Lilly sorority prints? I love DZ, Kappa, Alpha Phi, and ADPi. Personally, I'm not a fan of Theta, KD, and Tri Delta's prints. |

Love the prints for Kappa, DZ, APhi.
Wouldn't go as far as to say I dislike any of the others but I think they could have done a better job for DG and Theta. Not that these aren't nice, just that there was so much more potential for both. (more black with golden stars and kites perhaps, or bronze anchors and cream roses for DG) |
For some reason I violently dislike DZ's print. It looks like a 50s sofa or curtain to me. But I like-love most of the others.

I kind of wish our sheaf stood out more in the AOII print, but hey, they included it! ETA: Did they misspell "Soeurs" on the Phi Mu print? |
love the AZD and the AOPi, hate the Pi Phi, and meh on SK and Phi Mu.
|
All of them left me feeling only so-so. I don't really mind the Pi Phi print, and will probably buy a scarf, but it's only ehh (although it could have been so, so, so much worse -- ugh, there are some really horrible angel-themed things out there). I do like that the background blue (which is more sky than silver, unfortunately) is made up of arrows and our letters.
I like AOII & SK best, all the others are only so-so, and none are as bad as DZ or Theta (in my opinion). |
I thought the AOII rocked and the SK is cute. The colors may be off, but they can't be as far off as the A Xi D one was! (blue green, really?) But I suppose they do have to work within their color palette, not just accommodate the sororities. I think the SK one could actually be used for apparel (not that it will be), the others not so much. And I hated the Pi Phi one, which is a surprise. It's pretty easy to make their symbols super cute and current.
Will I order a clutch or something with our print? I guess I'd like to see them in real life, as I thought the colors were pretty barfy on all of them except AOII. |
^^^agree with angels&angles' comment about Theta. The Theta print convinces me that someone or everyone at Lilly doesn't like Theta. How difficult is it to do something with kites and the twin stars and pansies? For Lilly, apparently it was too difficult so they came up with something kindergartenish and so garish that I wouldn't wear it to a rock fight.

With the previous grumbles from other orgs not getting their exact colors, I'm not surprised that AXiD didn't get our true colors. However, I LOVE the design...and I believe a future paycheck will be blown as soon as the items are available.
|
Well, one of my sisters over on FB just pointed out that our motto is spelled wrong on the Phi Mu print.
