Radical and Controversial Topic...
I am truly sorry about this: Why is this child, sunflower02 posting on a DST board about anything African American if being white is soooooooooooooo much better? Don't believe the hype... Or why some mama's ought not do crack when they are pregnant... |

My radical thoughts after 11 pages of reading posts...
I think the Bush administration is using the privitization of Social Security to leverage the payment for the lunatic fringe of a war and building another "Disneyland" in the middle of the Middle East... Just to get that pipeline through Afghanistan through Iran into Iraq, then Kuwait... All because he is shown his true beliefs of the Bible's book of the Revelation... That's why they call it Bush the Father, Bush the Son...
And the poor Iraqis who voted only did it to get the US off their backs because what is told to us is very different than what is told to them and what gets translated from Al Jeezera (sp?)... And I think that the Age of the Goddess is upon us... These are the birthpangs. Maybe 4 dirty bombs will go off, and maybe 2 ICBMs from Russia with Love... But the survivers of the Nuke Holocaust will have eternal Nirvana and pursue several Ancient Afrikan and Eastern Spiritual practices when it is all said and done... Moreover, maybe the "prime directive" will finally be broken... But not in my lifetime, but my great-grandchildren's... That's the price we have got to pay for entrusting our future with the antichrist... |
Just thought you all might want to read Sunflowers's PMs to me:
:D :D sunflower02MemberRegistered: Oct 2004Posts: 62 problem? You seem to have a problem with me personally. Is it because you are some stupid person without a life who spends her days on Greek message boards? I'm a student, this is fine for me, but I truly hope when I get your age I'm not spending my days on a message board gossiping, complaining, and adding to the problem of welfare and poverty in America. P.S. maybe you should get a REAL job to occupy your time __________________ ready for FAMU I don't like being around ANIMALS! Negro! |

I don't blame her...
It's her parents fault. Since when did it become ok to disrespect your elders?

You cannot handle someone telling you what she knows about FAMU's business school so you decide to attack her postings and her age. Her age = wisdom. I guess I must be the DUMBEST person on GC then. No I just have a job that up until YESTERDAY allowed me to spend a lot of time on the Net. You know, I chose to attend Wittenberg University for its rigorous academics as well as the small school feel. I could have went to an HBCU but they did not present me with enough money. I am no less BLACKER nor any more BLACKER than my counterparts at Central State, Wilberforce, or FAMU. Anyone who believes such is DUMB!!!! We need to be elated that BLACK folks are getting EDUCATED PERIOD!!!!! FTDS!!!!! At the end of the day, Sunflower, you are still Black. You can still get passed up for a promotion just like a grad from an HBCU no matter how qualified you are. It happened to me this week. I could be upset but I know it will allow me more time to write so that one day I don't have to be on anyone's clock but my own. But your attitude in this thread is divisive and disrespectful. A Luta Continua!!!! |

The thing that bothered the most about her PM was the reference to animals. Is she saying that FAMU students are animals?????

I just want to tell sunflower that I got her PM and I DELETED it without reading it. :o My people, my people...

That poor child needs help, IF she is who she claims to be. You all know that some folks wanna be down so badly that they masquerade as someone that they are not in order to get a piece of the action. And usually, when people take the tone and attitude that she had with LadyGreek, they are just looking for someone to entertain them. She's still young. And when did it become OK for college students to be on the 'net all day, as she stated in that PM? At a fine academic establishment like FSU, shouldn't she be more concerned with her studies, community service, campus organizations? And this quote was so FUNNY to me! Quote:

I soooooo agree with this. With 3 brothers who were STILL in college at the time I was about to go to school, I had no choice but to go where I could get a free education. Coming from a family w/2 generations of HBCU grads, it was disheartening to accept the fact that I would be getting my education at a PWI due to this situation. Quote:

I saw all that drama that "SUNFLOWER SEEDS" started, so I thought I would just post something sweet, innocent, and non-controversial. But then again, you know how BOBBYEARL likes to do it .;)

Some (again, NOT ALL, I am only saying "SOME") women can just tell you, up front, that they are for sale. In the words of Joe Clark, "Don't ____ around with it. DO IT EXPEDITIOUSLY!" Besides, a brother might have $20 or $25 on him at the time to throw away. :D Oh, I'm not saying I would do it, but I am sure there are some guys out there who would. |

I believe that Black Egyptian History should be taught to children as early as elementary- no preschool, and it should be mandatory for all to be competent in this subject ,as well as reading, math, science, etc. I believe in reparations due to African Americans to redress the atrocities of slavery which still plague the underclass of African Americans in today's society- maybe if they had the money there would be more businesses and organizations and institutions to build a better economic climate within the innercities of America.

No I didn't attend FAMU, but I know that every summer I meet SBI sorors of mine who are interning at Honeywell, 3M, IBM, Medtronic, General Mills, etc. Many of them return for permanent positions and join our alumnae chapter. And I know many that did the BA/MBA program, which is awesome. Sybil Mobley is so highly respected in corporate America because of what she has done at FAMU.
The Graduate School of Business at the University from which I received my MBA was not accredited, because of the very reasons you stated. The program was and still is more real-world than theory-based and uses many adjunct faculty from the areas in which they work full-time. Ex: one of my marketing instructors was a Marketing Director at General Mills, a finance instructor was the CFO of Honeywell. Thus there are not enough PhD instructors to qualify for accreditation. Also, you were not admitted unless you had been in the workforce at least three years. This was 25 years ago before it became common that work experience was required for B-School admission. But not being accredited has not taken away from the quality of the program. In fact job placement has always been very high because of the course of study. |
a lot of people have already touched on mine... these are some of my "radical" beliefs that I've always had, so I don't really think they're all that out there....
-Creation and evolution are not mutually exclusive. They actually work hand in hand and explain the dispersion of ethnic groups across the globe. (see NewBee's post from wayback) -Religion is largely culturally based. The major world religions are mostly essentially "right", and will all get you "there", but the details are a matter of where and when you are. -Catholocism is an exception to the above. I don't support it. -The Noble9 orgs are on their way to losing relevance in the black community, and aren't doing enough get get back on track. -There should be "greek letter" orgs that only and openly pledge, stroll, step, party hop, and wear hot 'nalia and get just as much "respect" on campus. They If this were the case, all the interests who only want that side of GLO life wouldn't bother applying to those of us who have additional, important things to do. (y'know, like scholarship, service, that kinda thing?) -The history of Germany between the wars is repeating itself currently in the USA. -If it continues down this path, I will take advantage of the dual residency offered by Ghana. -Communism isn't so bad when practiced as Lenin envisioned, but due to human nature, that won't ever happen. -Black people might get somewhere if we stop giving a damn about what white people think. -Some people are born gay, some choose to follow a gay lifestyle because it is psychologically more comfortable (for several reasons). The latter can "turn straight" through counseling/prayer/etc. The former can't, but they can choose to live a straight lifestyle. I don't know how to tell the difference. -I, like Oprah, am a straight woman who's obsessed with breasts. I can't help noticing other people's, and I often "talk to the titties" like men do (and I hate it when THEY do it!) when having a conversation with another woman. -We should go back to "colored" instead of "African-American" -I've never had a proper boyfriend, and I don't see myself having the time and/or energy to look for, catch, or keep one anytime soon. I might never get married, and I'm ok with that, though will adopt children no matter what when I'm financially and emotionally stable enough to do so. -People with natural hair and/or locs need to get off their high horse about it. It's just hair. (8 years natural and will rock a press/'fro/wig/locs/yaki weave with a quickness) -In the US, Hispanics are the new black people, and Arabs are the new Asians. Mexican maids/housekeepers are out, black Carribean maids are what's hot in the streets. -There is no Democratic Leadership. Anyone with that much money that far up in the political game lines Republican to suit their pocketbook. -Every dream I had between birth and the age of about 6 was precognitive. I "knew" my present best friend when I met her in 9th grade because I'd had dreams about her, as well as every major event that's happened in the past 7 years. -Young people especially shouldn't "date". The pre-60s notion of "talking", "going out" with a bunch of people, "courting" and THEN "going steady" makes more sense. Many teenagers only date because its the thing to do and you're odd if you don't. IF society went back to the "old fashioned" way, the divorce rate would drop considerably, along with the teen pregnancy and STD rates, and our young people would be happier. |

1. I shouldn't have to pay for my MBA/JD because I am an African-American woman
2. There are too many ways to prevent pregnancy, so if you get pregnant it is because you WANT to. 3. If you can make the decision to engage in sexual intercourse, you are grown enough to accept the responsibility of a baby. 4. They don't make men like they used to, h*** they don't make women like they used to. There are no more men like PawPaw and women like Essa'Ree. I can cook like her though! 5. I do not want any children and I think a lot of people feel the same way, but are too embarrassed to admit it. 6. Oprah Winfrey is every businesspersons role model. 7. I believe all African-Americans should attend HBCUs. We need at least 4 years to be around individuals who look like us and are likeminded. Go where you want for high school and grad school, just complete undergrad at a HBCU. I LOVE HOWARD UNIVERSITY!! My peers are exceptional and continue to amaze me. 8. TEXAS IS A COUNTRY, NOT A STATE! Remember the Alamo? What other state could have went to war with another country and held it down. Shoot Mexico ain't no joke! Also, our flag is the only one that is flown at the same level of the US flag. PM me and I'll tell you the history behind that. 9. Delta Sigma Theta is the ONLY way. T.N.L.J.R. If not for that one........... |
Christians need to stop worrying so much about gay marriage and start focusing on why 50% of heterosexual marriages end up in divorce.
ETA: Ooh isht, I have the most posts in this thread. I guess I can no longer consider myself as non-opinionated. :) |

So, I'm hoping this thread is relatively safe from flame wars given the title. Here goes:
*I don't believe white men can be trusted with ONLY the exception of my father *I believe the majority of whites in the U.S. are ignorant of their position of privilege but when confronted they claim to know all about it *I believe Jesus was a short, dark-skinned middle eastern man that people of today might not necessarily consider attractive *Most of the people who regularly attend church are "Pharisees" *I know the FDA is money driven and I believe they allow dangerous and addictive chemicals to be put in our food - the only "safe" food is organic though that's not even really safe *There exists a cure for diabetes, herpes and cancer (and I know the cures) *I am capable of killing someone without regret (in self defense of course) *Masonry at the top is demonic *Walmart steals land from people by paying the government to condemn land after which they buy it and build their stores on it *I think we would all be better off without cities of over 500,000 people. ETA: I also believe that the much of what the medical community claims about diseases/cures/other such things is completely untrue - and that modern medicine exists only to sell drugs and make money. EATA: And, the African American men with whom I've had serious relationships are, for the most part, attempting one of two things: 1) To punish whites 2) To see "what it's like" I do, however, believe that there are very good-hearted men in the world who truly care about the person and not the socially constructed label. I just need to find them. |
We should be allowed to electric shock two students per school year. I would do mine on day 1 that way my classes would know the other 176 days we are in school it could be you next.
Teachers should make as much as lawyers and dotors. I save lives also. Jesus Christ is the savior. Period. Some of the people in the South are truly giving the region a bad name. Southern University is by far the best HBCU White people are clueless on every level. But..... The white man had balls. It takes cajones to conquer 6 continents. Women are smarter. Beauty and charm sometimes are far better than intelligence. It gets you farther, sometimes. :p |

Black men/women are taught by society to hate the color of their skin White women and black men should never date!never ! Some light-skinned people are not cute! That hazing people deals with power! A person who tells/asks people if they are "made" are suckers Most Greeks do not understand/know their history Married people cheat Preachers are closet freaks Gays lie about why they are gay Lotteries are a rip off |
