you know, i'm constantly covered with a blanket. i'm considering checking this thing out. maybe i'll get my letters embroidered on it for good measure too.

OMFG They have these for sale for $14.99 (cheaper than at their own website https://www.getsnuggie.com/flare/next) at my local Bed Bath and Beyond. This definitely is from the Beyond section of the store. I think they have every single "as seen on tv" item.

They only had the blue color.

Vandal, is that like those long skinny pillows you put at the bottom of doors? I really don't have any leaks it's just this darn big house with high ceilings. I could buy a designer purse every month for what I pay in the gas bill. grrrrrr.

There's an "As Seen On Tv" product for that too...though it lacks the hilarity of the Snuggie.

Several of you have heard the hijinks of my 8 year-old nephew. He's definitely a witty one, and acts far older than his eight years. I thought that, especially after these past few weeks, that nothing he can do could make me laugh any harder.

Well, guess who wants a Snuggie?:rolleyes::eek::confused::o

HAHA! My 8yo nephew saw the commercial this week and said, "That is the stupidest thing ever. Just get a blanket." Maybe your nephew should hang out with mine for a little while.

Every time I see that freaking commercial, I think of this thread. The words "OMG WTF the Snuggie" come into my head instantly!

Fawn Liebowitz 01-05-2009 04:06 PM

I had defended the Snuggie in one of my previous posts, but I had a "WTF" moment during one of their commercials yesterday. I don't know if it was a new commercial, or if I just tend to lose interest before this part, but I walked in the room in time to see a mom, dad and their kids wearing all that loose fleece while roasting marshmallows over a roaring campfire. It doesn't seem like such a good idea, unless "stop, drop & roll" is printed on the sleeve.

Whenever I see this commercial now, I think "10 points for Gryffindor!"

There are other items like it on Amazon. The Slanket, the Pike Street, and the Cabin Cuddler. They are 100% polyester, talk about melting and flaming.

My husband's grandmother (who is 86 btw) got one of these things for Christmas. However she is having my Mother-in-law hem it for her because it was too long and she was afraid she might trip and fall when walking around in it.

I can see a lawsuit from someone trying to walk around in their Snuggie, tripping, falling a breaking a hip.

Which is what I got my mom and sister instead (they asked for them and they both love them--my parents house is LOADS warmer now:D).

My DH wants one of these SOOOOOO SOOOOO bad. I laugh everytime the commercial comes on and he looks at me and pleads, "Can I get one? Please?"

pshsx1 01-07-2009 02:59 AM

I love how the commercial addresses every scenario imaginable. Like when the girl is in her 'drafty dorm room' on top of her bed NOT USING HER BLANKETS.

Or when they talk about getting tangled in normal blankets. That part made me laugh like no other. Who really gets THAT tangled in a blanket while sitting on the couch.

My husband, kids, and I make fun of this commercial each time it comes on. My husband and I joke how lame those people look in the sporting event clip.
