Go Phi Mu at Alabama!

My cousin is one and she absolutely loves her chapter!

Try one of those internet plan ticket places. I love priceline and usually never fly without buying my tickets there. I can usually get a $430 ticket for about half. I would tell you parents about it cause the only catch is that ( i think) you have to be at least 25. And Orientation at washington state university included parents sleeping in the dorms, do other schools not do this?

goodluck

We know of what we speak! :)

Be SURE to keep us updated this fall - we will be rooting for you.

Exactly.

UF did, at least when I went through orientation. My dad was not thrilled to be sleeping in a dorm with a roommate (who, apparently, snored like an outboard motor).

Drive from Orlando. It is about 10 hours but you would not have to rent a car and you would certainly spend less than $430 on gas which means it would cost you far less than for three of you to fly.

U of ARkansas allows parents to sleep in the dorm during orientation - or at least they did last year.

FSUZeta 05-12-2008 07:29 AM

so 3 schools that we know of have parents stay in the dorms. anymore?

33girl 05-12-2008 10:01 AM

Clarion did many moons ago (I'm guessing they still do). My mom had some physical issues so they stayed in a hotel instead. If they had only known how familiar I would become w/ the bar attached to that hotel, LOL.

For summer Pre-College (the two day Freshman orientation) Ohio University did. The parents could sleep in the same room as the student (if the parent was the same sex) or get a private room. Honestly, we didn't spend too much time in the room other than to sleep.

Athens doesn't have too many hotels, so it only made sense to have somewhere for the parents to stay on campus.

I think I should get at least 1/2 a point for bringing up the important of pre rush? I'll settle for FSUzeta hooking me up with a member from her old chapter.

USF doesn't
FSU doesnt provide dorms... we should make an entire thread about this

Denison University (in Ohio) does.

It really isn't that bad of a drive, even with gas prices as they are. I would recommend driving so you can get the hang of it for when you inevitably have a car at school and want to drive home for a break.
