According to their MySpace, this is their motto:

"On the road of Life, there are friends and there are sisters. Kappa Gamma sisters wanted!"

...which is blatantly ripped off of the Volkswagen ad slogan. Seriously, they can't even write their own motto? Give me a break.

Chuck has only one thing he wants to say to the girls from "Kappa Gamma" at SCSU: this is what you look like.

Yea, that is most definitely NOT a "motto".

They obviously do not own dictionaries:

mot·to Audio Help /ˈmɒtoʊ/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[mot-oh] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun, plural -toes, -tos. 1. a maxim adopted as an expression of the guiding principle of a person, organization, city, etc.
2. a sentence, phrase, or word expressing the spirit or purpose of a person, organization, city, etc., and often inscribed on a badge, banner, etc.

I wonder if their "motto" was something else before... has VW always had that slogan?

VW used it for 10 years, up until 2006.

Yeah, there's a big difference between a recruitment slogan and a "motto", ha ha.

Don't you "real" Kappas and Zetas and Deephers have something better to be doing (such as sticking to the morals you preach, like philanthropy & community service) than sitting on your computers and researching a small state school like Southern and its Greek Life?! Really now.

To set the record straight, we were NOT founded by a transfer student. A legitamate KKG who went to UConn happened to be best friends with an SCSU student who wanted to start an organization. So the material that we had (yes, past tense) came from a creeper of a KKG, not a theiving KG. We never approached KKG to affiliate because we had no interest. We have our local pride, and weren't interested in being a NPC group. We've since changed our badge and symbols, so we have no connection whatsoever with KKG.

And the poster SCSUgirl who got ya'll so riled up is full of shit. She wasn't trying to rush us. We aren't even HAVING A RUSH this spring. My guess would be that she's already part of an organization at SCSU and is trying to slander us. It's okay to be jealous, honey, but this is a bit much ;)

Any further questions as to the legitamacy of our organization can be directed to our President at kappagamma1213@yahoo.com

Wow. Just wow.

Methinks the lady doth protest too much!

Ahh... so I'm guessing the Founders are probably the ones who ripped it off VW then since they've been around for less than 10 yrs.

I was thinking their motto used to be something else, then someone heard a commercial and said "hey! that sounds cool! let's change our motto to this!" or something. I guess that's not the case. They maybe were watching TV when they were coming up with the idea to copy... errr... create a sorority and the commercial came on, and they decided to use that as their 'motto' :o

I wonder if VW has a copyright on it? :p

Um iI just wanted to say that I've been exchanging emails with KGSCSU and she was incredibly rude and is convinced that I am a sister of DPHIE at SCSU and am just trying to cause trouble. I find it really amusing because she has contacted DPHIE and told them that KG thinks one of their sisters is anonymously slandering the KG chapter. Yea that will do wonders for their relationship with the only legitimate sorority on campus.

The only thing lamer than trying to copy a superior organization like Kappa Kappa Gamma is becoming defensive when called on it.

Alias2345 04-07-2008 09:12 PM

So they have made their myspace private I would imagine that if you have so much pride in your organization as KGSCSU claimed you wouldnt make your myspace private unless you are trying to hide something. . . They still have facebook groups however.
