Soliloquy,
I was extremely touched by your words and your attitude. I believe there is always a reason for everything and i totally believe that you will end up with Copeland and be the happiest new member ever.

I wish more PNM's read this thread and truely know that there is always a plan for them, eventhough they may not like it at first. and "to every ending there is a beginning" :)

My refresh button is about to wear out! Hope all is well, Soliloquy, and that tonight you are a proud new member of Copeland!

kathykd2005 09-02-2007 10:39 PM

Mine, too! This suspense is killing me.

Soliloquy 09-02-2007 10:39 PM

Thanks for all of the well-wishes ladies, but I did not get a bid to Copeland.

I gave it my best. Apparently I just wasn't good enough.

icelandelf 09-02-2007 10:39 PM

You are good enough. And I hope you consider going through COB. We're all behind you!

What the....???? I second what KathyKD said -- Copeland doesn't know what they're missing!

Hugs to you, sweetie -- I'm sorry. :(

Nothing could be further from the truth! I am so sorry you did not get a bid from Copeland and surprised! You sound like a very wonderful young woman who has a lot to give an organization. Please check in with Panhellenic regarding continuous-open-bidding ( COB) for houses which may not be a total. YOU are most certainly good enough, unfortunately the process doens't work 100% of the time. Please do not give up, there is a group out there for you.

kathykd2005 09-02-2007 10:59 PM

Exactly right. Check into COR and see what happens with that. This is NOT a reflection on how good you are as a person. I know it can be hard not to view it that way, but the truth is, recruitment is a lot more complicated than most people know. You are so awesome. You have made so many friends on here and we will continue to support you.

Lil_ChiO_Lady 09-02-2007 11:28 PM

oh no!

I am sooo sorry, and shocked that you didnt get a bid.i definitly think u should consider COB if it is available.

Leslie Anne 09-02-2007 11:33 PM

Oh no! I'm so sorry, Soliloquy. :( But please do NOT think for a second that you're not good enough!!!!!! We all have grown so fond of you over the past few months. You're a wonderful young woman with a good head on your shoulders. You're warm, kind and intelligent. You're my digital rush crush, for goodness sakes!

Take a bit of a breather and look into COB/COR opportunities or perhaps Spring informal. For a lot of women the informal setting just works better.

We're behind you all the way, Sweetheart!

honeychile 09-02-2007 11:37 PM

(((((((((((Soliliquy))))))))))

I'm sure it's a rough night/tomorrow for you, and everything looks gloomy. But please remember this: 99.9 chances out of 100, if you were invited to a Pref party, you were on the Bid List. That means Copeland could still be COR, or may in the future.

This term will the time to make friends, both greek and non-greek. Keep in touch with the greeks you felt a bond with - you never know when or if there will be an opening, and if you're in the front of their minds, you may be the one to be invited. It's all up to you - and you've more than proved to many people here that you're more than "worth it".

Keep that pretty chin up, and remember that you have friends here! We genuinely care what happens!

Oh Sweetie,

I am thinking so much of you tonight. We have all grown very fond of you over the past month. Your are a true sole that I don't see much of these days.

I'm not from your area, but didn't someone (maybe Phi Mu) plan to recruit after formal? We have a very strong Phi Mu contingent on this forum and I'm sure they will help pull for you.

Wish my sorority was at your school, so that I could do more to help you out. You are in my thoughts and I wish you all the best during COR.

Soliloquy 09-03-2007 12:48 AM

Merry, I cannot reply to your PM. It says you have them blocked.

Thanks again for the encouragement everyone. I would accept a bid through COR if my campus holds it. However, I have a feeling we won't. There would be no real way of me knowing, short of contacting our advisor, who probably won't know the answer either. Besides, panhellenic is busy celebrating with their individual sororities- why would they bother with a girl who got left behind right now? I wouldn't blame them for not really caring at this point.

I hope that I haven't made it obvious where I go to school and what chapters are at my college. I think my reflections throughout each event have been incredibly fair, classy, and most importantly honest- so I hope that this thread hasn't been a detriment during my personal recruitment process.

I went into recruitment respecting every chapter, and I still do. I am just terribly hurt from the rejection. There were many girls who pleged tonight with lower GPA's then mine and whose activities couldn't hold a candle to what I have accomplished. I think that is what is bothering me the most....

Jen 09-03-2007 01:27 AM

If a chapter didn't make quota through formal recruitment, right after rush is the time they're are most intent on snap bidding and CORing up to total.
