Is that the one that goes "Ring Christmas Bells" and slowly descends into a singing of annoying rounds? If so, I hate that one, too.

It's the one that has the lines "ring Christmas bells, sweet Christmas bells, ring loud and clear, Christmas is here....."and ends with "ding-dong-ding DONG!!!"

Carol of the bells is one of my favorites :( I don't really like it with words though.... only when it's instrumental

* "You Make This A Christmas to Remember" by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton....ICK!!!

* "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus"....SOOOOO skanky...:rolleyes:

* "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer"....Just doesn't seem to scream birth of Christ to me???

On the other hand, there is a Christmas song I love by Sting, but no one can tell me the name....It sounds almost Gregorian chant-like....It's luscious and sensual (NOT in a sexual way.Passionate is maybe a better word)...

ETA: "I'll Have a Blue Christmas" by Elvis.....DIE ALREADY!!! GEEZUS!!!

Yeah, that's the one...I hate that one with a passion.

LMAO at GP's Dan Fogelberg distaste. Where the heck does he live that he buys a 6 pack at the liquor store? (unless he means a 6 pack of Thunderbird bottles, which makes the song almost cool)

Due to the ever-earlier pimping of the season I hate pretty much every Christmas song except church stuff (in church) and Sleigh Ride, but Santa Baby by Madonna will be what they play continually in the eighth circle of hell if I end up there.

Although I was privileged to be present at the debut of a new song by a local songwriter called "Merry F&*#ing Christmas." Yes, this is as good as it sounds, and I wish I had a recording of it.

I hate "Little Drummer Boy"

neonsparkles 11-30-2004 02:26 AM

I cannot stand "The Little Drummer Boy" or"Feliz Navidad"
I also hate when a christmas carol that I love is remade be an artist and they turn the song into crap... especially when they completely disregard the melody in favor of yelling a long string of notes.

I have a love/hate relationship with "My Grown-Up Christmas List"... because that song is so horribly cheesy, yet it always makes me sad because I do want the world to be all peaceful and happy lol.

On a positive note.. I love O Holy Night... I will never get tired of that song (although I do cringe when I think about high school choir concerts and people singing the song who clearly should not have been....)

Hate. Santa. Baby. Hate.

Can't stand: The comedy carols---any of 'em---I don't like 'em!

And when somebody records one of my favorites and totally butchers it........AAARRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

I want to know who suddenly decided that "My Favorite Things" is a Christmas song. In the Sound of Music, it's sung in the summer.

Cosign, big time.

Except The First Noel and O Little Town of Bethlehem, both of which I hate with a white hot passion. blech.

The Dan Fogelberg song makes me all nostalgic, though, and I'm really developing a love for a lot of the songs on Love, Actually.
