I was suprised by the amount of seperation as well, althouth there's really not MUCH they can do about the airport schedules and planes being full... but Schmirna I'd guesstimate had a good four hours or so on the next group getting to Jo'burg.

However, SoCalGirl mentioned that her father works with Joyce's brother. I wouldn't be surprised if Joyce's brother is more accurate than the CBS site.

When you take into consideration the number of teams and that filming takes about a month, it seems more realistic that the rest period takes more than 12 hours. Maybe not 3 days, but definitely more than 12 hours.

No offense intended to SoCalGirl, but I wouldn't be too surprised either way. I played "Gossip"/"Pass-it-Along" enough as a kid to know how quickly and unintentionally information can get garbled.

Actually, I think that length of filming makes 12 hours quite realistic.

The All-Stars season filmed from November 20 - December 17, 2006. That's 27 days, which seems to be consistent with recent seasons.

Each race has about 12 legs, at least recently. One 12-hour pit stop after 11 legs of a 12-leg race eats up 5 1/2 days, which would bring the time actually spent racing down to 21 1/2 days. That's an average of less than 2 days per leg, which seems likely to be accurate given that while some legs involve just driving to different areas in one country, others involve flights, nights spent waiting for a venue to open, and the like. Shoot, last night's episode covered 2 1/2 days alone.

No offense. :) I was left wondering if maybe it was special for the All Star season. My dad asked the brother and was told that Joyce and Uchenna had extra time the last time they raced too. My dad was told they had enough time to sleep, eat, wash clothes, socialize, and go sightseeing. Without the sightseeing I can see all that taking 12 hours, especially considering they have to do their interviews too. I don't want to believe they take more time but the fact that they are no longer making a point to say it every episode, like they used to, makes me wonder. Regardless if they spend 12 hours or 12 days at the pit stop they do maintain the spacing between the teams; so, it doesn't really matter.

It seems likely that, like the CBS Web site says, on some days there was an extra day or so. Like in the cases of bad weather, world events, other unforeseen circumstances. But I just don't think the show would do multiple days after each pit stop. If you watch Phil's travelogues, you'll hear that sometimes he barely makes it out in front of teams. If they had extra time, i would think Phil would be at the next destination far in advance. i also just don't think the network would waste the extra time/labor/money that extra days would add to the race, just to give the racers sightseeing ops.

Oh, and I'm glad Teri and Ian are gone, too. They were annoying me, especially Ian. I got tired of him telling Teri to hurry up, just so he could wait in line.

Charla and Mirna were a barrel of laughs tonight. Between the argument in the car, the "bulimia" incident at the sausage factory, crying when the man wouldn't take them to the castle and Charla dressing up as the knight and dragging the horse, it was hillarous.

The teams should be thanking their lucky stars that they had to eat kielbasa and not cow organs (Argentina) or hot and spicy soup (Hungary).

Thanks to Charla and Mirna, I can't remember when it was last I laughed so much during an Amazing Race episode. Charla's fake bulimia was too much...at least she didn't have to bend over too far to throw up in the bucket.

I thought it was great that tonight's episode was a two hour one and that they spent a decent amount of footage at Auschwitz. The last time I got goosebumps like that was when TAR went to Senegal (where the slaves were shipped off).

I mourn the elimination of the Guidos and must say that their car confessional post-Auschwitz (about being born in a time where they're allowed to be themselves) was one of the best.

I've been tired of them since Season 5. Make them go away, please, I'm begging of you!

That said, I agree that it was very funny watching them last night.

The scenes from Auschwitz were very moving - I'm glad they took the time to cover it on this series.

I won't miss the Guidos at all, but it wouldn't have been too bad to get rid of Eric & Swiss Miss either - she is gross to look at.

So I love Oswald & Danny and Uchenna & Joyce - Dustin & Candice are pretty good too. I despise all the rest, with the exception of Schmarla & Schmirna whom I double... no triple despise. I wish I could be with them watching these shows air & see how they react to their behavior onscreen.

Did Charla/Mirna and Cha-Cha switch places tonight? Chara and Mirna were very calm, while Cha-Cha was freaking out.

After the yield, everyone's going to be after the BQs. Told ya'll last season they were nothing to mess with.

These are the same two people who liked to play the little person card during their first season.

So I officially want the beauty queens to win now that Uchenna and Joyce are gone.

I never thought that I would admit the same thing...my vote is for the Beauty Queens. I don't think by yielding Eric and Danielle that there was anything gained except for some anger from Danielle.

How funny was it that no one completed the cookie task. Six hundred boxes is ALOT!
