I know! I don't want to get on his bad side, or he will call me a hussy, lol! :p

Buttonz,
Seriously, I would follow ladygreek's advice and PM a member of the sorority involved.

Dionysus 11-09-2006 01:56 PM

I'm LMAO too. I've never heard anyone under 70 call a woman a "hussy". lol

Oh Rashid's been calling me a hussy for years now. It ain't all that bad. ;)

Personally, I would have a huge problem with this because of ritual and the loyalty we pledge; however, I think there's a difference between "frowned upon" and "policy" I would think that if SDT does not have a policy against a NPHC member joining than it will be difficult to revoke her membership. If the NPHC Org does not have a policy that a NPC women cannot affiliate than they too would have a difficult time revoking her membership.

Would I act upon this information if I knew it was more than just "frowned upon"? Yes. However, if I knew that there were no policies to deal with this issue I would move on.

ETA: I see what you're referring to but that wasn't a quote (hence the lack of quotation) it was my own words.

Ok Drolefille seriously, enough already. Buttonz came on here to ask questions of the NPHC members because she was upset about her sister joining one of the four sororities. Your sorority is not involved, you do not know all of the NPHC policies, and your opinion is not the one she's looking for in here. Give it a rest already.

I hope this dual membership situation gets solved.

I still want to know what NPHC sorority. :D

Most NPHC orgs do have a policy.

No one has a right to know, and if it's not your GLO that's doubly true.

What if it IS MY GLO (or WEND08's or jubilance1922's or TheEpitome1920's)? WE have a right to know. So, Buttonz, please take my Soror's advice and inform a member of the affected organization forthwith.

Thank you, and good night!

BTW, I didn't know GC was the place for moral support? I thought she was asking a question about a policy so that something could be done. If she needs moral support, thats what her girlfriends and sisters/sorors are for, NOT a messageboard.

No offense, but what exactly are you going to do about it besides informing nationals/the chapter she joined? Buttonz is doing that anyway, and I would assume you can trust that your organization will do the right thing whether a member or a non-member tells them about it.
I can understand why you're curious, and why you would want to know if it was your GLO -we're all curious- but you don't have the right to know anything about this situation except what Buttonz tells you.

mccoyred said "inform a member of the affected national organization." She didn't say "inform ME if it's DST."

She meant "we" as in "my sorority as a national entity if it's us", not "we" as in "Delta Sigma Theta members who post on GC."

GDIfly 11-09-2006 05:06 PM

She was responding specifically to a post that was about GC members not having any right to know. I figured when she responded "If it's my GLO or *list of other GCers'* GLO WE have a right to know" that GC members were the referents of that we.

Why do some of you type stuff like this?

Buttonz has probably already either contacted someone's NHQ or PM'd a member of the NPHC sorority to let her make the next move. But since you're not in an NPHC sorority you don't have a "right" to question us. Or maybe you do, since we're all just posting on a message board. None of us are holding guns to anyone's heads. "Right?" Geesh......

She was probably stating that any member should be contacted, which is what Buttonz did after deciding not to contact a nhq.
