I'm about to be really honest...

Yes, but be prepared for disappointment. I'm not trying to be harsh, but this is just the reality. You can, technically, list them in any order your heart desires, but that doesn't mean you'll match anywhere.

Yes, it does matter to an extent. It's called maximizing your options. However, only list chapters that you would actually be willing to accept a bid from. I know a lot of girls at UCF who were cut heavily and told to, at the very least, list three houses. Generally this would include the chapters that you preffed and maybe an additional house that you love, but were cut from.

I know you're hearing a lot about snap bidding and the hope of being picked back up, but you should also know that at UCF these are VERY rare occurrences. Your Rho Gamma will be able to offer you much more advice, but be sure to consult with her BEFORE you sign your bid card!

It's pointless. If you could be happy in the houses you pref, put them down. Don't put down the other chapters who cut you unless you are specifically told by the Rho Chis to list all of the house or list your others or whatever. You are not going to be on their bid list. You will appear somewhere on the bidlist of the chapters that you pref.

If you like the chapters you pref, put them. If not, don't sign a bid card and hope you can participate in COB. But keep in mind not every house COBs.

I agree, there's no point. You said you don't want "that phonecall". If you list a BUNCH of chapters that didn't invite you to prefs on your pref card, you are only increasing the chance that you will not get a bid AT ALL. Think about it.

I would strongly advise you to rank the ones who DID invite you back as your top 2, then listing everyone else in order behind them, you have a MUCH BETTER chance at getting a bid that way.

If your entire pref card is full of groups that cut you, you're basically screwing yourself out of a bid.

If you ARE NOT WILLING TO ACCEPT A BID FROM EITHER GROUP YOU PREF, WITHDRAW AND DO NOT SIGN A BID CARD. Then you will still be eleigible for COB.

Agreed. If you did not attend a pref party, you are not going to be on that group's bid list. So if you are going to list a bunch of groups who aren't going to have you on their list (and you won't get a bid from them) then you might as well not sign a bid card at all. It's the same result.

If you do not attend a chapter's preference event you will not be on their bid lists. You can put down chapters that you did not attend preference, but the chances of getting a bid from are very, very slim.

If you do not want to join any of the groups where you attend preference, then do not sign a bid card and sign up for COB when it opens.

UGAalum94 08-20-2006 11:19 AM

Oh no!

I'm sorry to hear your news. I've been carefully following your story here and wished you the best; I know you are disappointed.

Right now, it probably seems the worst it ever will. As time goes by, it won't matter so much. If later you are still interested, you may have some COB opportunites.

Good luck!

tunatartare 08-20-2006 11:19 AM

Aw sorry hun (((hugs))). Are you going to participate in COB/COR?
