I tried to have this argument with saetex and it was pretty fruitless. For what it's worth, I agree. When I think of Southern places, Texas is not really included in that.

Me neither. When my family lived in Houston, it was a little Southern, *maybe*, but drive west and you're definitely in the Southwest. San Antonio? Definitely Southwest.

Bless his heart. It must be so hard for him to be a Texan from a new money suburb, not an actual Southerner with the "heritage" he tries so hard to posture as having. I'll try to stop picking on him, but his life would be easier if he just accepted who he really was- and what he can never actually be.

East Texas is definitely Southern, but that's about it. You can't look at SMU, Texas, and others and not think Southern. Once you get past there I say it's mostly Midwestern, or western.

utealum 03-03-2006 02:51 PM

Texas/SMU aren't "East" Texas. When I think East Texas, I think Tyler, Beaumont, etc.

georgewallace3 03-03-2006 05:50 PM

If you new anything about Tyler, where I am from, you would know that it is extremely old money and is not, in anyway, a "new money" suburb. If you want to discuss who I am, what my family is, or what I will become then I will be more than happy to.

isn't Tyler where JC Penney headquarters is?

georgewallace3 03-03-2006 06:07 PM

no

utealum 03-03-2006 06:14 PM

Ah, Tyler. Arkansas with roses.

ETA you also claimed your dad was an Eagle- the only Eagle from TX in that time settled in Lago Vista. Hardly old money.

georgewallace3 03-03-2006 06:23 PM

Sorry buddy but you are wrong......you can pm me.....I think I am well aware of where my father "settled." You obviously don't know jack shit about Tyler or anything that has to do with it. And how does what my father did or what he does now an indication of my family's wealth? It goes back a little further than my dad alone. You are a stupid fuck and you need to stop trying to prove whatever point you are trying to make. Again, you can PM me if you want to discuss my father's retirement from the NFL and where he lived shortly after.

Hey, you're the one who brought your father and grandfather into it.

The only Texan who retired from the Eagles in 82 is Jerry Sisemore, who was the son of a Plainview roughneck. Nothing wrong with being a roughneck, but if you are his son, something about your posts doesn't add up.

You had no problem starting 92 threads about someone else's inconsistent personal history. But you can't defend your own?

amycat412 03-03-2006 06:30 PM

I have a friend from Tyler. I was under the impression it was a fairly wealthy town.

georgewallace3 03-03-2006 06:42 PM

What do you not fucking understand about a PM....I am not going to name drop on an internet forum....if you want me to prove your dumbass wrong than I will. And if I said 82, I was wrong, it was 1980, after they lost Super Bowl XV to the Raiders. He played under Dick Vermeil, Ron Jaworski was QB.....what else would you like me to tell you.

Yeah, not finding another Texas alum who fits those categories.

You mean you won't back UP your namedropping, not that you won't namedrop.
