Alrighty... if you say so mary:rolleyes: people who disrespected you or people in your chapter thats fine... but those who NEVER did anything to you?
Marquise... are you saying in your pro show you didnt say anything about any other organization at all? |

Some greeks have the misconception that once you get your letters your all of a sudden all knowing and the "ignorance" of being non greek dies... that ish dont die and the same folks who was ignorant before they pledged are still ignorant afterwards they just have pretty letters and alot more support. People should stop thinking that oh... these nongreeks only see the jerry springer side of things... lets face it they see that but they also see the good... they see the benefits for them to join that organization and they see the love and unity WITHIN the organization... people are going to see what they want however they choose to see it. It takes someone who is truly about their business to filter thru the junk mail and get to real business. I agree this could have been handled on pm but when you have an audience put a show on for your cause!
I didnt ask for my neo's show to be trashed on the internet but in their defense i speak up. I cant speak for anyone else but i know that if someone would have dropped from my line at the time the guy who got called out at the show had dropped from their line... I would put him on blast... they said his name once... big deal it isnt like past shows i've seen where they put pictures and posters up. But to each his own. |
It doesn't have to be that way though.
A lot of people do "do - betta" when they know better.. and better yet, when they've been taught better.. I'm not pointing fingers at anybody. I was really just chiming in on the whole 'Probate Show' side of this thread. Somebody has got to take the high road at OSU and furthermore.. if you have real problems with anybody (Greek, non-Greek or Maurice Clarett), tell them to their face and iron/duke it out. That's if the beef is real... |

I am not sure what you mean as I am unable to follow your logic, but to each his own. I stand by my original position. The original question took a personal tone and in my opinion, should have been handled either through pm or face to face (since apparently you all are on the same campus). If my recollection serves - a question was posed, someone responded with an example not naming any organization OR school, and you responded with the details and in my opinion attacking the young lady who made the general comments. Moreover, when she attempted to address the issue in what I felt was an appropriate manner, the back and forth commenced. Bottom line, I believe the entire conversation could have and should have been handled in a different more respectful and discreet way. :D |

*lets suspense build* LMAO nah thats a joke but that to me would be proshow material if he did... see that would be personal if he did... and yet who would really be mad at that? Other than him... and how can you duke it out with females?? and Ms AKA i'll take ur comment with a grain of salt... i believe it was my frat who said it best... people get on here and they front like they are all about unity but when in the street they do as the street... i can understand SOMEONE taking the high road but until you truly have a feel for the climate here you just wont understand. Imma let the debate die on that note. But i pose a NEW question... how many of you who claim there should be no dissing in shows actually had a show... meaning your own show... that included NO dissing of other organizations? And how far back was this? |
Sure..
Crossed in the Fall of '93 no Mention of any other org at all at my Death March or Probate show.. It was all about displaying the history/culture/marches/knowledge we learned about Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. --- I also said that there was a time a place for everything.. and that's your YARD SHOW !! And even then.. the Greeks on the campus of UAB at the time.. (Omega, Kappa, Alpha : no Sigma chapter till '95, no Iota Chapter or colony then or currently) more or less played the 'dozens' than got real personal. For example, we said something during the Que Week yard show back in Spring '94 like "A.I.D.S. stands for Alpha In a Double-breasted Suit" as a punch line.. And in turn, during the Alpha and Kappa Week shows, both orgs would do their 'snaps' but it NEVER GOT PERSONAL LIKE - this person dropped line/applied for Frat XYZ, etc.. because back in the day, if someone applied for another Frat/Sorority, they didn't get a chance to pleadge anything else because the Frats/Sororities networked with each other in such a way that word got out before interest meetings that "that person was at our smoker"/"tea"/whatever you call it. I can't believe that 'supposedly' 8 guys applied for Kappa and then applied and became members of Alpha.. How common is that kinda thing now-a-days? PS... and Centuar, you might be right about that being common practice now.. I dj'd the SGRho crossing party last night at Club Ice in Birmingham. The SGRhos also brought their line out at the club because the yard got shut down by the school president due to the massive storm which ran thru Miss, Tenn, Alabama last night. One SGRho was standing next to me during the come out show to direct me when to start the next music. The show was going great (to me) when the Neos stopped the show to 'personally' and 'organizationally' ( I know that's not a word) call out some/the Zetas by their full Gub'ment name. I then quietly told the SGRho next to me, who I happened to know in passing through my wife who is the SGRho Grad Chapter Basillus that 'you don't call people out like that period, and definitely not at a come out/probate. As we talked, I found out she and her line '04, called people out at their probate two years ago.. so NO TELLING HOW LONG THIS ISH HAS BEEN GOING ON... All I can say now is that the Bruhs at my undergrad Chapter haven't subscribed to this practice and that Greeks everywhere need to start respecting each other a little more. |

MizDiscreet and dj i can both respect where yall are coming from. My only problem with this situation is if you have personal jabs thrown at you and your organization year round... Whether it be negative advertising for people NOT to attend your programs or having potential members start fights at your parties to get them ended early.. or simply making a point not to go to the programs and instructing anyone who wants to be a member of the hating organization NOT to attend your programs... when is enough enough? rather than disrupt those peoples programs or crash their parties or seek out individuals on some other malicious intentions we simply let all those who hate that we know who you are and we want to give you the proper acknowledgement you deserve. Our shows are about us... and as OWTLAWS we dont stand for the disrespect... we diss but we also show why we feel we are who we are and will continue to be who we are. I say if a man or woman has the gusto to disrespect us in any fashion and they know what they are doing... then why not give them name recognition? If Chauncey Billups wins the MVP of the NBA he deserves to have his name broadcast... and i feel vice versa... if you want to be our MOST VALUED HATER then we gotta give you your props... why not?

There arent yard shows here... we have such a low representation of the divine nine that step shows usually have alot of other teams from other schools to make the show complete... It would be nice to have things like that... but with the greek climate on our campus... the best time to let it be known is at the pro shows.
