If you're talking about undeserving Oscars, you have to go back further than that.

Wow, Reese should have gotten an award for that speech alone. Very powerful.
Oy, seriously? I thought it was highly annoying and way too long. Usually I find her very cute and charming, but she was droning on and on...

In other news, what was Charlize doing with that bow on her shoulder? Channeling my junior prom dress?!?

I liked Salma's dress and Nicole Kidman's.

Ok, I agree, but that was such an obvious screw job that left everyone going WTF....name some other examples IYO.

I'm wracking my brain, what chick flick was it? Titanic? Or was Titanic the year before?

Shakespeare in love

That was pure robbery. Saving Private Ryan was a far better film than SiL...in so many ways. Putting on a british accent does not a great role make.

In my opinions the biggest sign of being out of touch is the fact that Martin Scorsese has not won an Oscar. You know who has an Oscar as Best Director: Kevin Costner for Dances with Wolves instead of Scorsese for Goodfellas. I have been disgusted for 15 years.

For me its got to be the following:

That Judi Dench won best supporting actress and she was in the movie for a whole of like 5 minutes. WTF?!?

That The Color Purple was completely SNUBBED when that is one of the best movies!

That Saving Private Ryan didn't win. That movie is excellent!

I'm sure there are others but these are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head

I honestly didn't watch the Oscars, but I did catch the highlights on this morning's news.

Selma H's dress was GORGEOUS. Of course she's really pretty too... she can make jeans and a ratty t-shirt look good. Lucky girl!

I didn't watch the Oscars, either, but have been spending the last half hour looking at some of the celebrities. There are some people who just know their best look, and some who don't. And some who look great no matter what. If you go to the Yahoo Home Page, and click on the Academy Awards, there are some fantastic photos (ie: Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, and of course, George Clooney). Yummy!!!

Goodfellas was good....but it didn't compare in anyway to Dances With Wolves, which was pretty much a masterpiece. How do you even compare those two?
