I have seen people named Aggie-I kind of like the name:D

All of the Aggies that I know are short for Agnes. A rather "old" name.

However, in the case of Texas A&M, sadly these "Aggies" are likely not short for Agnes. Tragically, these parents probably are *actually* naming their child after the mascot.

My uncle went to Texas A&M. Luckily, he did not name either of his children Aggie. Though he did name them after where they were born...Virginia and York. I'm sure, growing up, York must've been teased by the other schoolchildren. Anyways, even though he didn't name either of his kids Aggie, he is still a very weird person. :p

Oh, man, that reminds me of an old commercial for the Chrysler Concord. The ad campaign was promoting the car's roomy interior, especially the backseat. I only saw the commercial once because I expect it was pulled off the air quickly.

Mom, 5-ish-year-old daughter and baby are driving in the car.

Daughter: Mommy, where did we get our names?
Mom: Well, we named you girls after where you were conceived. Your dad and I went on our honeymoon to Savannah, so that's how you got your name.
Daughter: And what about my sister?
Mom: [long pause] ...Um... Concord is a city in New Hampshire, dear.

bwhahaha i had to think long and hard about that one!!

sigh, i dont think naming a kid New York (Univ) would be flattering. Hell, it got that skank 2 seasons on a highly rated show... but i digress...

I suppose I could go with Gallatin, Stern or Tisch, as they are all names of people anyway. sheesh, EVERYTHING at NYU is named after someone... i wouldnt be surprised if 20 years from now, i visit as an alum to the "Wachovia Student Center" or "Verizon Wireless Library."

Actually, I like Cole (after Coles Sports Center). That might work. Let's just hope he/she doesnt get beat up.

Remington. I think it's one of those internet colleges, but I think it would make a great boy's name

There really is a Bennington College, in Vermont. One of my profs went there. It sounds about the same as Remington. Alot of the smaller colleges have names that are good, they seem to have more creative names:

Hope (College, in MI)
William Woods (College, in MO)
Westminster (same as above)
Linden (Lindenwood College, also in MO)
Mars (Mars Hill College, in NC)
Norbert (St. Norbert's College, in WI)
Benedict (St. Benedict, there are several in the US, incl. KS)
Paul (De Paul U. - Chicago, IL)
I suppose you could use Loyola ....

I've actually heard about Bennington College, thanks to the Cosby Show.

If you folks don't remember, it's that episode where Denise fesses up to Cliff and Claire about how she dropped out of Hillman. They make reference to Bennington College (at that time it had the most expensive tuition in the nation) and Theo tries to convince his parents to fork over $$$.

And the movie "Baby Boom" with Diane Keaton! I LOVE that movie!! :) :)
