Hi!

How was Christmas for everyone? Mine was great. I should be on vacation still, but I had to come in this morning to get some stuff around for invoicing next week:( but i'll be leaving at 11 so that's not too bad, except for this stupid snow.

Janel,
Since you live close to Panama, have you visited there to relive some old memories? It would be great if we could all get together to go there for a week or 10. I'll never forget you lighting up a cigar one morning when you came back to the hotel!

Santa was good to me as always. I haven't been back to Panama City but my cigar smoking days are over. There's no need to make a big deal over something that happens quite frequently these days.:D Have a Happy New Year!

Janel - Glad to hear that Santa treated you right. I hope everyone else had a good Christmas too.

Never heard the cigar story before. I'm sure there were a lot of other stories I missed from that trip since I was old and graduated by the time you went on that one. At least it was fun.

Hey - remember Valentine the drug dealer from the Bahamas spring break trip? We were so wasted - laughed right in his face.

Gamma Gamma Alumni Events?

Hey, just wanted to ask if there are any gamma gamma alumni events planned for the coming year?

Last year there was a picnic in the spring which I attended along with a few other alum. I know a few other sisters that wanted to come but had date conflicts. If everyone knew far enough in advance, there is a chance that the turn out would be good.

Gamma Gamma alum ... would you attend if the chapter were to have something (Janel - any chance you could make it in from Florida)?

Active sisters ... any chance you'd have something?

Last year was fun - even if I did feel old. We were asked to fill out a name tag with our pledge class year. An active sister saw "93" and said, "Wow, 93, I was like 12." Made me feel a little ancient. But that's okay.

:o

Amy,
I was pretty wasted but I have some memory of the drug dealer. Besides, where else in the world can you get locked in a bar during a gang fight while being seduced by "Hans" and "Frans"?! I think they wanted to pump us up or something. Have a Happy New Year and beware of the Bahama Mammas!

Janel

Hans and Frans and Connect Four! Being locked in the bar is never a bad thing. :D

Happy New Year to you too!

Way to go Clarion...

Hey girlies,

Look at all the Clarion representation on here...It is crazy for such a little place we sure had our memories...

You probably don't all remember me I pledged in fall of '97 but I remember some fo you...and have some stories and have seen the scrapbooks....

There seems to be something in common with everyones post....Oh good 'ol Clarion...I guess there never was much to do.

Hope everyone has a great new year! Adventures (the new name for the Roost) is a lot of fun! I loved going there on Thursday nights even though alot of sisters wouldn't go b/c it isn't the prettiest place....We always had a blast there.

p.s. they still don't have tp....never smart enough to remember to bring my own.

I'm glad that everyone had fun at last year's picnic. So far, we don't have anything planned, but I will post it here and on the email list as soon as I know anything.

jdgirl 12-30-2001 12:27 AM

The Roost was never a pretty place but back in the good old days but everyone wanted to be there on Thursday nights. Is Joe still the DJ there? He always played whatever we asked for no matter how silly our requests were. We would get him to play "friends in low places" and "any man of mine" every week. It was always a good time. The UI used to be the place on Tuesdays, but I would watch out for the moldy beer from the taps in the basement. That was also a good time, however, I would be careful dancing there. The floor gets pretty slippery from all the spilled beer and can cause the "accidentally overserved" patrons to bust their butts as they try to bust a move on the dance floor. It's bad when guys who aren't there to see you fall come up to you and say "Hey, aren't you that girl who fell on her butt?" I hope your bar nights are just as memorable.
