I think, and this is only a guess mind you, that there was someone claiming that women didn't really belong in the org because otherwise there would have been at least one woman among the founders. So this person decided to point out, why that's illogical.

I was refering to the comments that were being made earlier about at least 1 woman being a founder.

You're right. I guess we were all supposed to remember this discussion that started 10 years ago.

There may be some truth to the claim that prior to "a little conflict called WW2." (And I may have to add that to the thread on words and phrases that annoy you.) I don't know.

But it seems to me that the simpler answer is that co-ed fraternities didn't really come into existence until the 60s and 70s, mostly (though not completely) as the result of Title IX. I doubt the idea of a co-ed fraternity would have occurred to KKPsi's founders in 1919, whether there were women in the band or not.

Just a heads up -- when you're bumping a thread that hasn't had a post in months, and that stretches back 10 years, you might want to quote what you're responding to. Otherwise someone has to read the whole thread to figure out what you're talking about. ;)

Mysticcat, are you a brother of Kkpsi?

No pun attended, but I do know how to work a message board.

Where's the pun? You obviously don't know how to work a message board.

No, I'm not. I'm a Sinfonian.

You can quote a message by clicking on the button that says "Quote" in the message you want to quote. You can quote multiple messages by clicking the button with the quotation marks in every message you want to quote (the buttons will turn red) and then clicking on the "Post Reply" button. If you don't use the quote functions, you can preface what you have to say with something like "Some people have commented that . . . , wondered why . . . ." to give your bump some context.

No pun intended, but he does know how to work a message board. Those of us who aren't KKPsis need to MOOB so this thread and its forum can go back to obscurity.

What can I say? It's Friday morning and I'm feeling charitable towards fellow music Greeks.

(Although it's Friday morning and I haven't had enough caffeine. I actually misread his post and read "I do know how to work a message board" as "I do not know . . . ." :o)

This is almost as good as "it's a mute point." Possibly better since the user obviously has no idea what a pun is.
