Well, Twitney truly is keeping ol' Kev Federline. But I guess maybe it's a ruse to make it look like that Kev is actually paying Babypeople Kaleb and Kori's support.

To put it mildly, it's the end result of sexual arousal.

Music Of Black Origin Awards(MOBO) bosses are facing the wrath of gay rights activists who are furious homophobic stars Elephant Man and Vybz Kartel have been nominated for awards. Leading pressure group Outrage! are urging the BBC to abandon plans to broadcast the prestigious British event, claiming it "rewarded" artists who promote homophobia and hate attacks on gays and lesbians. Elephant Man and Kartel are among eight reggae stars whose lyrics are currently under police investigation in the UK over claims they incite violence and hatred against homosexuals. Outrage! has also vowed to call UK Home Secretary David Blunkett to ban the two Jamaican artists from the event. The group's spokesman Peter Tatchell says, "By accepting the nomination of Vybz Kartel and Elephant Man, the MOBOs are rewarding singers who incite the murder of lesbians and gay men." A week ago, Outrage tried to get EMI to cancel Beenie Man's contract even after the dancehall star had written a letter of apology for his homophobic lyrics. In related news, Buju Banton is currently being charged for assualting a group of gay men on June 24th, 2004 in Kingston. Six men were driven from their home and beaten by a group of armed men . Buju has been named as one of the armed assailants. Buju has denied the charge. He just recently lost a deal with Puma and has had various of his concerts in Europe cancelled because of pressure from gay rights groups.

Lawd lawd lawd...They trying to ban my favorite artists! I love Vybz. I don't see what's the big deal now. Dancehall artists have been singing about gay people forever! Folks just now getting ish translated! lol I knew this was going to happen. I say if you're offended by it, don't listen...not like you know what they're saying anyway. I have no problem with the songs. And Been Man apologizing? Give me a break I hope yall know he doesn't mean that lol
In the Caribbean there is low tolerance for homosexuality...mostly b/c of our nations' Christian foundation. But as w/ rap alot of time we're really dancing to the dancehall riddim & not really checkin for the words. It's the conscious(less homophobic) reggae that truly speaks to our hearts.
These artists will be & have been very successful before 106 & Park. I say if you don't like it listen to something else.

I love reggae too, and these artists have talent but I ain't mad at the gay people's reaction. If the song had said "boom bye bye in a n****s head and not batty boy, we would all be OUTRAGED.

I don't mean to say that being gay is better, worse, the same, or whatever as being black, but they have every right to be offended at those lyrics and to be AFRAID of the damage they cause.

You make a good point here. We all would be grossly offended if someone was attacking who were are as a race...grossly offended.
I am Jamaican and I grew up in here (yes that's where I am now:D) and I never really minded the lyrics because it's the norm. There is a lot of hypocrisy not only about homosexuality ( yes we have quite a few here who are out) but about oral sex, bleaching our skin and taking drugs besides weed ( and no not even 20% of us smoke weed). My point is that in our culture we speak out about a lot of things that a lot of people are doing behind closed doors- it never really means anything. My only problem is when an artists can't find anything else to talk about besides homosexuality or performing oral sex- these are just not accepted publicly.

what if Jamaica stopped allowing artist from other countries to perform because they curse? i'm not advocating violence agains gays, but just what if...

We can't afford to do that. When any artist curses on stage they get fined. Quite a few rappers including Snoop have warrants out for there arrest because they were fined and left the country before paying it.

kanye west gets on my nerves

according to supa cindy...

Quote:

Kanye West is refusing to team-up with other artists in the immediate future - because he wants to concentrate on his solo career. The rapper/producer who has produced for a variety of superstars including Jay-Z and Alicia Keys is convinced continuous collaborations are "diluting" his music. West says "I can make $100,000 a show and if someone wanted to give me that for a track, I have to give them a piece of my soul." Kanye hopes to break into Hollywood as he enjoys "making videos more than making beats and rapping". He adds, "I think I'll definitely go into script-writing. I love anything that allows me to be creative."

VMA's-

Did I hear correctly in Usher's performance that he basically told Chili to stop lying on him in radio interviews and that they still love each other and need to get back together and do it right this time? I watched the repeat of his performance to make sure I heard it correctly, but I need to make sure y'all heard the same thing.
