I would never compare Ron Jeremy to the Clintons. EVER. Sorry, but I didn't see the relevance in that.

I totally agree. Clinton was one of the greatest American Presidents of all time.

Another tangent... why is it assumed that if you don't have anything nice to say about someone, you're automatically jealous of them?

Personally, I don't spend my time being jealous of celebrities. But the contents of my opinions about anyone, including Paris Hilton, have very little to do with my envy of them. If I say I think someone looks trashy, that's not secret girl code for "OMG I WANT TO BE HER!"

SO my two cents:
I don't think anyone in this thread knows Paris well enough to be able to discern whether or not she is a two cent ho. Although I really really hate to admit it, I do agree with decadence on the ONE point; I don't think the video is a porn video exactly. It wasn't meant to be put out for public consumption, and I don't think her participation or her acts in said video have anything to do with her being a slut.

However, other than being quite attractive and rich, she doesn't have much going for her (lol I know that sounds kinda stupid, how much MORE do you need going for you than to be hot and rich, right?). She isn't educated, and IMO she has TERRIBLE taste in clothing. Reality shows are naturally edited to show entertaining things, but The Simple Life reveals very few flattering aspects of her personality.

But really, the whole point of this thread is that she's going to be playing a sorority president. And that's the part I don't get. Maybe I haven't met enough sorority presidents, particularly California types, but I just don't understand that casting. I guess I could see her as a sorority girl, but I generally think of a sorority president as the uptight, overachieving, micromanaging, perfection-seeking, heart-of-ice type (and that's SUCH a generalization, so no offense to all the Presidents out there!) Granted, it's National Lampoon, so I shouldn't expect much reality to come into play. But can any of the gallant Paris defenders honestly say that her role in a movie spoofing Greek life would be positive PR? Somehow I doubt it.

Rudey 06-29-2004 12:16 AM

I think she dresses well. I also think that her business ventures are going well and so is her acting.

Anyway as for the role...yeah I agree with you. I guess we'll see if she can play that role well but I really see reese witherspoon playing a charaction just like in the movie election.

I do understand sarcasm, know a foul-mouthed jealous brat when I see one, too. Clearly your knowledge of classical mythology is as extensive as your grasp of courtesy and respect. Enjoy your time there.
I could point out again in detail how she parties less than some college girls, how she was the victim of someone she trusted releasing intimate records of a committed relationship; but I think it'd be lost on you.

Dear decadence,
How your delightful wit gives me a good chuckle. You are trying to defend the dubious honour and character of a person whom I have apparently and callously besmirched. I admire the way you have risen splendidly to the occasion of defending Paris Hilton. Alas, your lack of character makes itself plain by your blatant and unwarranted attack on my personal character by dubbing me a "foul-mouthed jealous brat". May I point out the fact that I have not had the honor of meeting you so for you to presume to know something about me is quite presumptous. My attack on Miss Hilton however, stands due to the fact that one can hardly turn the pages of a paper or magazine or turn on the television or Internet without seeing yet ANOTHER scandalous yet true story about her. This original post was not about the unfortunate taste in men she apparently had as is proved by the "gentleman" who taped the sexual encounter & publicized it. The post was about negative image she gives to already embattled sororities who are trying to overcome the negative stereotypes given to us because of the actions of girls like her.

Also, would you really like to know what my knowledge consists of regarding classical mythology? Let us say we leave the conventional Greek gods and try something new.
We could discuss the mythology of Africa that has gods like Unkulunkulu (The Supreme Creator), Nzambi the Sun god, and Leza the god of Rain.
Or we could discuss the Japanese Creators Izanagi and Izanami or the Ocean god Susanowo.
Or China's Supreme Ruler Shang Di.
The Inca's had Viracocha the Lord of the World and Inti the Sun God.
The Celts had The Dagda (Lord of Knowledge).
Then there is Odin the Norse chief of gods.
In India, there is Surya the Sun god and Ganga, the guardian of the Ganges River.
My personal favorites are the Egyptian gods. Re (sometimes called Ra or Phra) is the Sun god, Nut (sometimes spelled Nuit or Neuth) is the Sky god, Geb the Earth god is unusual in that he is referred to as the earth mother, and Amun, god of wind and ruler of the air.

Take it as you wish but do not presume to know others ignorance before you look at your own.

Dear CASIGKAP,

I could respond at length and make you look silly, however it far better to simply have your post(s) above do the task for me. Thank you.

Thank you also though for using the anglicised spelling on the word 'honour' (we'll leave aside the fact all I did was ask for clarification); I would have been awfully confused otherwise. :)

CASIGKAP 06-29-2004 10:59 AM

It has been my pleasure in helping you to understand between honor and honour. Also, I truly do hope my post helped enlighten you. ENJOY!!!

So this has become a pissing contest... good job. If both of you were male, I'd say, just drop drop trow and compare, and be done with it.

Back on topic, yeah, I can't see Paris Hilton as a sorority president type given the personality she exhibits in the public eye. But hey, she might actually have some sort of acting talent and be able to pull it off. Also take note that she's portraying a sorority president for the National Lampoon series. I really doubt National Lampoon is going for the dignified sorority president type.

On Paris in general, she hasn't done anything to be famous. She just kinda is. Good for her. If she can exploit it for her benefit, then she's smarter than we give her credit for or she has a great management team.

You're absolutely correct about the pissing contest. For decadence, let's just agree to disagree and put our very obvious personal differences aside and put this thread to its death.

to be honest.....

if she came over at 2 AM...naked with a toolbelt, construction boots and a hard hat and asked if i could help her out with some pipe...i don't think i'd turn her down because of her dubious morals. but hey....maybe that's just me.

to be honest...
most guys wouldn't care who the girl is if she's there at 2AM, naked except for her toolbelt and smile, looking for some action...but hey... maybe i'm wrong. :)
