As I keep saying, this is going to be a wild election. We just had our Primary 2 weeks ago, and 26% of the Democrats did NOT vote for Kerry! Seeing as how this is "Heinz Country", that doesn't speak well for him at all! He's simply a "I'm not the other guy" candidate.
I honestly think some people around here (Dems & Republicans alike) are resentful of the fact that Teresa remarried, period, so I don't think they'll vote for her new hubby. Especially if they think he's scamming her out of Heinz $$ for his campaign (not that she's ever done anything she didn't want to do, but you know what I mean).

Actually stop acting as if Democrats would not have invaded Iraq. Kerry voted to invade. People like Hillary Clinton, who is considered one of the most prominent Democrats, also want to. -Rudey
I think it would have happened. It would just have taken a lot longer to do so. Maybe he would have waited till more countries got on board or they got UN backing after giving Iraq even more time. Waiting and building up more Arab countries support might have helped prevent some of the hate we are getting now. I know there has always been hate but there are many levels of it. Going in without most of the worlds support just makes the US look like a bully and doesn't win us any friends.

Blah blah blah, blah blah, blah blah Kerry and the Democrats supported the war. Sometimes it's easier to look in from the outside and try and pick out little details that were not possible and say that you could have accomplished them, but at the end of the day, you're still just an outsider.

Everyone on GC is outsiders unless someone is in the political field here. You just seem to single out the Democratic party since you disagree with it. Even Bush uses hindsight. First we invaded Iraq because of WMD's. Now the reason was to free the Iraqi people.

No I don't single anyone out. There was a war in Iraq and both Democrats and Republicans voted for it. I have very rarely been on the proactive side in terms of this election on GC. That is you.

You've covered these boards with your sludge and "activism". Generally I only come on to defend and present facts that you choose to leave out.

Again, let's retrack what just happened:
1) You made a claim that was wrong by saying Democrats would not have invaded Iraq.
2) I said no, Democrats said they would as well.
3) You quickly tried to switch topics by saying I single the Democratic party out and then starting a new fire on a different topic about the reasons for the war now.

If you look up about 3 post I agreed even a Democratic president would have gone to war. Just much later than Bush did. Would have waited till more countries supported it.

You said before I said something: "Just because some would not have invaded Iraq to start does not mean anything".

You said after I said something: "I think it would have happened".

The two are very different and I assume that me saying something had to do with it. But OK.

Well I said some might not have invaded Iraq. There were Democrats that were against the war and did not vote for it. Yes Kerry was not one of them. Political pressure at the time called for a yes vote or look unpatriotic. It's hard to say but if Kerry was President right now its possible we still would hav voted for war but would still be building up support for it. But like you said I am an outsider and what if's never get anyone anywhere. But hey if I am a flip flopper Kerry is the perfect candidate for me, right?;)

Some might not have invaded Iraq also includes Sean Penn the world's biggest retard. But since this thread was about Kerry, one would think you were talking about Kerry and not just anyone.

And yes, Kerry is a flip-flopper and I still do not know his views and I doubt most of his supporters do other than "He's not Bush".

And that would have been the best thing, eh? Wait for the UN and other countries to back us, fund us, send troops blah blah blah, next thing you know, its 2006 and Saddam and crew just blasted another 100,000 people and is thinking about invading his neighbors.

To say the Dems. would have gone into Iraq is bullshit, if you question that, look at Clintons 8 years.

Osama and his posse try to blow up the WTC in the early 90's, what does Clinton do? Send about 30 cruise missles into Afghanistan. What he should have done is what we are doing now in Afghanistan AND Iraq, and did the job right the first time.

See what happens when shit doesn't get done right the first time? It is 10 times harder the second time around.

Bush in 2004
