I'd like to see Arkansas join the Big 12. I know it will NEVER happen, but I loved watching the Capital One Bowl this year. I wish we could see some Mizzou vs. Arkansas action on a more common basis. Especially at Faurot Field.

You guys were talking about not getting into the games, is that a real problem for students too? I was thinking about transfering down to an SEC school through SMS for a semester or two (either Ole Miss or Alabama, I'd probably go with Alabama), but if I can't even enjoy football there, I would be very irritated. I'd have to say seeing the Iron Bowl would be an awesome experience which I would really want to do if I was down there.

You guys could give the Big 12 Arkansas, pick up Tulane or something like that, and then the Big 12 could get rid of some excess weight, like Baylor. YEEE HAAA!!!

Tom, I couldn't decipher most of that post, but I take it that you are asking about the NCAA basketball tourney? If so, Alabama and Vandy are both in the Sweet 16.

The Iron Bowl is AWESOME. If it is a home game, student tickets are like $5. Most students get tickets to the games, but you do have to order them in a package before the season starts. Current students order theirs in the spring and freshmen/transfers order in the summer. I have never heard of someone not being able to get student tickets if they order within the time frame. It is harder to get away tickets... there are only so many away tickets that are allocated to students. If you want away tickets, you can ask for them, but they are based on senority (how many credit hours a student has earned at UA).

I grew up going to Alabama football games. My best friends went there as well and i even went to a few games while I attended Ole miss. I probably can tell you any player, coach and stat about Alabama football during the 80's and 90's...and I ended up going to Ole Miss. Alabama has a huge tradition with football, however...

Their ain't NOTHING like The Grove. I'm not even going to try to explain it..there's no way i can..you just have to be there. Sports Illustrated named us #1 in Tailgating.

This past year when we played South Carolina we met a group of guy from NYC who get together every year and go to a college football game, They'd been EVERYWHERE!!! I mean everywhere! ANd they said someone told them to go to Ole Miss. We invited them to tailgate with us and all...after like 10 minutes in the town they said they'd officially seen it all...from then on they weren't just going to go to a college game every year...they were coming to The Grove every year. Not only that...2-3 weeks later when we played LSU...they showed up again! Decked out in Ole Miss gear...they said they couldn't wait a year. LOL!

But, Hotty Toddy, we have to TRY to explain... if only to make them jealous :p

As far as the football games, SMSU, a lot of students do not get tickets to the football games. They usually "sell out" within 3 days. I say "sell out" because we don't actually have to pay for them, just stand in a huge line to pick them up. At least, that's how it is at USC... I think there are something like 4,000 seats for 40,000 students. But I have been known to have wrong numbers before.

UK won all three basketball games with South Carolina this year. However, the Cats lost the football game.

ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Kentucky cheerleading squad used a near perfect performance to capture their 13th Universal Cheer Association championship Sunday at Walt Disney World.

The cheerleaders had advanced to the finals of the competition based on a tape submitted to the UCA in November. They were the 12th team to compete in the 16-team final round and were named the champions shortly after the last team’s routine. It is the 13th overall title for the Cats and the ninth in the last ten years. The squad placed second last year, breaking an eight-year streak of championships.

“We wanted to bring the trophy back to the Bluegrass,” Coach Jomo Thompson said. “We wanted to make the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the University proud once again of the cheerleading team.”

The squad had one deduction in the judging on a step out of bounds. But they were able to hit every other component of their extremely difficult routine.

“As soon as we were done, I knew we had a great chance to win,” Thompson said. “Lots of people that were watching told us we were the best team. But there was still a little time where we had our fingers crossed.”

The University of Central Florida, the defending champions who upset Kentucky last year, placed third in this year’s competition. The squad from Alabama came in second.

At Ole Miss students get in no matter what. many people don't go to the games but instead sit in the grove and watch it on TV...this is not to say that our staudium isn't full. It's pretty much full every game.

I know at UT sometimes students have trouble getting into games.

once again decripting Tom's post has bogled the mind... but as to UK still being in the madness... if you review my post I said that they shouldn't have been number 1... when you lose to UL you know you have a lot of work to do... the thing was that nobody is as consistant as UK in b-ball so who are you going to give the number 1 to... Kentucky.

SEC FANS see if this is right... looking back at the 7 NCAA wins that UK has... how many times have they also won the SEC title?

UK's 25 tournament titles are more than the other schools in the conference combined. UK also has 42 regular-season championships. :D

Students have to buy football tickets at LSU and you pay for them when you register for school. The orders are processed according to the number of credits that you have. Therefore, a senior has a better chance of getting season tickets then a freshman through the university. That being said it is possible to get tickets for a particular game because people are always selling them. Although, conference games are really hard to come by like Bama, FL, UGA and Ole Miss.

For the other sports, I think that students just have to show a valid ID.

I think USC is in the process of doing something where seniors get first priority, but right now it's first come, first serve. Except for the Clemson game, which is done by lottery to avoid people spending the night on the street and stuff.

And yes, you can get them at the actual games from people selling them on the roads or sometimes there will be an add in a newspaper.
