I like the hook of Bootylicious, but I think the part where they say, "make your booty touch the ground", is OVER THE TOP.
|
Now I'm not saying the song has any education value http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/tongue.gif, but I'm just curious as to why people are trippin more off Bootylicious than they ever did about "Thong Song", "Shake Ya A*s", OR "Back That A*s Up"? What's the difference? Do y'all see DC as being more influential because they're more visible, or what? Just curious.

...and in that song "SOMEBODY" is really "TRYING" to sound like "MARIAH" What's REALLY going on? And when did it become customery to sing about "freakin'" and "Praising the Lord" on the same CD??
LOL...I'm soooo glad someone finally said something about the Mariah Carey impersonation!!! That is the FIRST thing I thought when I heard that song...and I KNEW MC wasn't doing guest appearances on DC's album. Okay, artists have ALWAYS sung about freakin and the Lord within the same breath. Just like Sisqo praising the Lord for his award for the "Thong Song." Actually, "Bootylicious" is SUPPOSED to be about loving yourself and your body regardless of its makeup and what others think of it. RIGHT. I'm hatin...so what http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/tongue.gif DSTDeuce Spring 98 |

For the record, I'm not REALLY hating on DC. I think they're extremely talented. I could really care less about their business dealings, who's on who's bra strap, or how stank Beyonce is PERCEIVED to be. They don't really care, either. It has NOTHING to do with how famous they are and how famous I'm NOT...or how much money they have and how much money I DON'T have http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/tongue.gif They're doing their thing...but, it's important for everyone in the lime light to remember that what goes up (eventually and unfortunately) must come down http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif I hope they do some investing in a possible future beyond their present day successes. Ok y'all why am I feelin that song "Bootylicious" http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif I'm not even a DC fan like that. I don't really care for the remix, but I'm really feelin that song. I really like the hook on it. Call me crazy if you want. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/rolleyes.gif

Would there be this much anger and animosity (HATIN) directed towards Beyonce, Kelli, and Michelle if they were members of the ILLUSTRIOUS ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA SORORITY INCORPORATED??????? http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/rolleyes.gif
|
but their not, so what's the point?
and, for the record cuz i'm tired of folks saying it, nobody is hating on d.c. this is just an on-line conversation and commentary about the things they do and the way they do it. that is, in no way, hating. and if it is, then somebody needs to give ol' MeezDiscreet a clear-cut definition of the term, because observing and commenting, to me, does not equate hating. i am sorry if i seem to be getting a lil carried away and i'd hate to start a lock-up http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif , but it irks me when people label opinions as hating [This message has been edited by MeezDiscreet (edited June 13, 2001).] |

Would there be this many comments/opinions if they 1) didn't praise Beyonce like she is the Queen Sheba, 2) didn't contradict themselves in many ways, 3) could talk properly, 4) and didn't make themselves look like airheads sometimes. No. Why do they do the things they do, because they are young, immature and don't have proper guidance. And at that level, they wouldn't make it into AKA land. So to answer the question would there be so much talk if the were a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated-no. Because they wouldn't be acting the way they do as women of AKA. To me there's no question that they can sing-well Beyonce in my opinion. However, it's what they do and how they act that raises the comments. |
Oh my!
Oh me! ANOTHER first-time poster...oh well! Welcome to Greekchat! *AKA2D looks for that darn smilie (awesome foursome), cause she may have to use it!* LOOK OUT! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif |
