Is it me, or does Mary look like she's back on the narcotic? Maybe it's just a bad pic.
So this is the fella Starr has been fawning over on the past few episodes of the View? He looks like he's quite younger but the pic is sorta small to really tell. |

It's a little hard to tell, but DAYUM... It looks like Starr's man could be on the fine side! Go head, Soror! Do the dayum thing! And he does look younger, too. Maybe this was the incentive for her to get that surgery... ;)

@Mary's wedding. She looked a hot mess, but I still think the dress is pretty. |
I give props to Jay-Z and Beyonce. I wish them luck. I think that the relationship may be the real deal. They have been together for a while and Jay shouts her out all through his album.

Remember my "I heards"? Well, I didn't post this, but in the same conversation...I was told that HE is interested in marriage, too! :o
Mary's Brother, Bruce looks like he has taken a few "hits". Star's man friend looks like a thinner version of Al B.Sure. |
Soror Kamala Harris, 1st African American DA in CA
This info was posted on a list-serv
Hi and congratulations to soror Kamala Harris (15-A-86) on winning the election in San Francisco. Check out the story below . Kamala Harris elected San Francisco DA S Rajagopalan Washington, December 10 The United States now has a District Attorney of Indian stock. In a bitterly-fought election, Kamala Harris has trounced her former boss and two-term incumbent Terrence Hallinan to become the DA of San Francisco, a coveted public office. The 39-year-old Kamala, daughter of an Indian mother and a Jamaican father, defeated the 67-year-old Hallinan by a wider margin than what some pollsters had projected. She polled 56 per cent of the votes against Hallinan's 44 per cent. After Bobby Jindal's narrow defeat in the Louisiana gubernatorial race, the San Francisco DA election had come to attract disproportionately large attention among the Indian Americans. But then, African-Americans also claim Kamala Harris as their own. Kamala thanked her mother, Shyamala Gopalan, for her success. "My mother raised two daughters in Berkley, where she fought for civil rights. She raised us in an environment where women were strong and giving back to community was important," she told a jubilant crowd of her supporters. A political novice but a protege of outgoing Mayor Willie Brown, Kamala had mounted a vigorous campaign, attacking her opponent's work record of low convictions, huge backlog of cases and strained relations with the police department. The police union had come out in full support of her candidature. "I'm just delighted that Kamala Harris...will bring San Francisco back to real competence," Mayor Brown said as he joined Kamala's victory celebrations. Paul Grewal, president of the South Asian Bar Association of Northern California, hailed Kamala's "historic victory". Kamala, who will also be San Francisco's first-ever woman DA, said: "I'm optimistic and hopeful about the future. We've done a great job. I'm honoured and I don't feel entitled to it because no one's entitled to serve in a public office -- you have to earn it." A prosecutor in Alameda County for eight years after graduating from San Francisco's Hastings School of Law in 1990, Kamala had a two-year stint in her opponent Hallinan's team. The association came to an end in 2000. During the campaign, Hallinan grumbled that his challenger had hijacked his agenda. "She came after my voters. She adopted my agenda -- in fact she hijacked my agenda. And it appears she did a pretty damn good job of it," he finally conceded. |

Singer Lauryn Hill Blasts Church at Vatican Concert
1 hour, 1 minute ago Add Entertainment - Reuters to My Yahoo! By Philip Pullella VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - American singer Lauryn Hill, from a stage used by the Pope, shocked Catholic officials at a concert by telling them to "repent" and alluding to sexual abuse of children by U.S. priests. The broadside came during the recording Saturday night of a Christmas concert attended by top Vatican (news - web sites) cardinals, bishops and many elite of Italian society, witnesses said. Hill made her comments when taking the microphone to sing at the concert, held in the same huge hall and stage Pope John Paul (news - web sites) uses for his weekly general audiences and other events. The Pope was not present. "I did not come here to celebrate the birth of Christ with you but to ask you why you are not in mourning for his death inside this place," she said according to a transcript of her statement run by the Rome newspaper La Repubblica. A spokesman for Prime Time Productions, the concert's organizers, said the newspaper's quotes were accurate. "God has been a witness to the corruption of his leadership, of the exploitation and abuses ... by the clergy," she said. This was an apparent reference to the scandal in the United States last year over the sexual abuse of children by priests. Hill told the crowd to seek blessings "from God not men" and said she did "not believe in representatives of God on earth." A few feet away in the front row sat five cardinals, including Edmund Szoka, American governor of Vatican City. Hill, 28, did not sing the song listed on the program but instead sang a song about social injustice. Organizers said Hill's outburst and performance would most probably be cut from the show when it is aired on Christmas Eve. Hill shot to fame in the mid-1990s with band The Fugees, whose album "The Score" sold 17 million copies, to become one of the biggest hip-hop chart successes of all time. She went on to win five Grammy awards for her debut solo album, "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill." She has a son and daughter by Rohan Marley, the son of Reggae legend Bob Marley. |

Actress Sues Snoop Dogg, MTV Over Show Sun Dec 14, 1:14 PM ET By The Associated Press LOS ANGELES - An actress has sued rapper Snoop Dogg and MTV over an episode of the television show "Doggy Fizzle Televizzle," in which she claimed she was unwittingly made to appear as if she were naked and engaging in sexual relations with another actor. In a lawsuit filed Friday, Doris Burns accuses Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, and MTV of breach of contract, fraud, invasion of privacy and defamation. She is seeking unspecified damages. A spokeswoman for MTV, which produced and aired the show, said the company does not comment on pending litigation. Messages left over the weekend for Snoop Dogg's attorney were not returned. Burns alleges that during the filming of a scene for the sketch comedy show hosted by Snoop Dogg, the show's producers wanted it to appear that she was having sex with an actor playing her husband Ummmmm did she think she was going on Romper Room? |
she's a NUT!
Not that I disagree completely with her stance on the Catholic church, but if that's how you feel, why would you agree to perform at a concert held specifically with supporting the church in mind????? Why would you agree to perform, then go on a rant about the people who hired you??? And pull a total Sinead O'Connor! How disrespectful!
I mean dang, didn't she see what it did to that girl's career? She's craaaazy. |
I'm not feeling Lauryn...
Instead of blasting the church, she should take a look at all the dust/dirt/grease and grime in front of her own door. :o
