Eminem....
The only thing I have to say is...
Why would this be a big deal now? Black artist/rappers have been saying derogatory remarks about Black women for a long time and no one has made a big fuss about it. In addition... Black artist/rappers have made racial remarks about whites and others...so what's the difference? In my opinion...there isn't one. |

This Michael Jackson story is EVERYWHERE today. All the media outlets have their hooks out- it is really sickening to see the feeding frenzy.
But this morning I was BEYOND disgusted by one black news outlet. The local radio station was covering the story and said that Miachel needed therapy and not jail because Hollywood messed him up as a child and he thinks light is right. I was like what? I do not care what his childhood was like. If he is proven to be a pedophile then I want him in jail. Do not pass go, do not collect royalties. If it was a poor man, regardless of race, they would put his behind UNDER the jail. I dont think he should receive any better treatment just because he is famous. This is NOT a victimless crime. IF it is proven true, we will all know that this is not the first time he has done this. He has syustematically abused children and used his money to escape censure, just like R. Kelly. I want them BOTH to pay and not have their celebrity protect them. |

4-1-1 ENTERTAINMENT FOR THE WEEK OF NOVEMBER 17TH, 2003
There was a wild internet rumor going around that Vivica A. Fox was stalking her ex Boyfriend Rapper 50 Cent. The reports claim she drove her Range Rover and crashed it on his property in Connecticut. This is not true. Vivica is working in California and she has not seen the Rapper since they broke up. Gerald Levert's love life has taken another twist. According to Celebrity Journalist Jawn Murray, Gerald is now dating the Actress/Comedian Kym Whitley. Kym used to star on the BET Show 'Oh Drama' and she just finished work on the Vivica A. Fox movie 'Beauty Shop'. Jamie Foster Brown of Sister to Sister Magazine says she talked to Gerald and he told her he was seeing Monique. Has Gerald moved on already? Gerald is definitely not seeing Singer/Songwriter Kandi Buress from Xscape. They broke up a while ago. I had a chance to catch up with Gerald's brother Sean while he was in town and he just smiled and said no comment. Kym has gone on record claiming Gerald gives the best foot massages. Kym was engaged to a director but that romance has ended now that she is with Gerald. I wonder who the popular Singer will be dating next week. Tamia's Lp won't see the light of day until March 2nd. The Album has been pushed back again and it will have a new title called 'More'. Tamia teams up with Gerald Levert on his new LP 'Stroke of Genius'. Tamia and Gerald team up to do the Carpenters classic song 'Close to You'. DL Hughley is in talks with CBS about hosting a Comedy Game Show called Liars. (Afrochic's sidenote: Am I the only person in the world who finds DL unfunny and annoying?) Poet/Singer Gil Scott Herron is back in jail. Herron is best known for his hits 'The Bottle' and 'The revolution will not be televised'. He is jail on a drug charge apparently he can't make the ten thousand dollar bail to get out of jail. Just in time for the holidays it's Ashanti with a Holiday LP. Ashanti sings a lot of classics including 'Winter Wonderland', 'Joy to the World', 'Silent Night' and 'We Wish you a Merry Christmas'. (Afrochic's sidenote: She's just the person I need to hear at Christmas  ) Martin Lawrence's girlfriend was hoping to get a wedding ring for her birthday but instead she got a Bentley. Martin's lady is the mother of two of his kids and she was hoping they would make it legal but after his failed first marriage to a former Beauty Queen. But Martin doesn't want to get married again. Meanwhile wedding rumors are surfacing around Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri. Will the two tie the knot over holidays? (Afrochic's sidenote: If they aren't the dumbest looking couple then I don't know who is...Troll Kid and Complex Queen) Now that Bobby Brown is off of house arrest we should expect to see him soon. Hopefully he will stay out of trouble this time! Meanwhile his Wife Whitney Houston has a new Holiday LP in stores called 'One Wish' and one of the cuts on the LP is a duet she does with her daughter 'The Little Drummer Boy'. I have been getting a ton of emails regarding her current state and if she is pregnant. At this time I don't think she is, I think she was but something happened. We will just have to wait and see. |

2) I never knew he was in jail before. Am I the only one who's late? 3) LMAO @ Afrochic's sidenote!! :D 4) SHE WAS BUT SOMETHING HAPPENED?? WTF? How you just gon' say somethin' like that? And say "you THINK?" Something happened... what happened??? I mean, if you gon' tell it, TELL IT! |

Yall know I got luv for ya but yall might be smokin' somethin' with this DL thing. He's not the funniest on tv (true enough) but live/on stage, he's crazy. I saw him in Cleveland about 6,7 years ago and this sistah who was in the 2nd row and got there late (people, never sit up close and GET THERE LATE for a black comic). DL just crushed her all night; every 3rd joke she became the punch line. Ole girl didn't have sense enough to just be quiet, she actually tried to fire back on a professional comic... and got clowned all night. I put DL right behind Cedric on my best comic list. Needless to say, I was a big fan of the "Kangs of Comedy Tour..." |

PRINCE FANS!!!
The following artists will be inducted at the Nineteenth Annual
Induction Ceremony, which will be held Monday, March 15th in New York at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel: Jackson Browne -- For more than three decades, Jackson Browne has been one of rock's consummate singer-songwriters. Writing intricately crafted, deeply personal songs, he made his mark as a master chronicler of the affairs of the heart. The Dells -- The Dells began recording in 1953 and still perform today with virtually all original members. They have performed and charted in every decade since the Fifties, making them one of the most influential vocal groups of all time. George Harrison -- Post-Beatles, George Harrison's career spanned three decades during which he not only furthered his artistry as a musician, songwriter, and producer (of music and numerous films), but as a humanitarian on the world stage. Prince – Self-produced since his debut at age 20, Prince is one of the most unpredictable as well as one of the most magnificently charismatic figures in the entire pop landscape. His fusion of rock, funk, soul, metal and punk has defied all stereotypes. Bob Seger – Detroit's standard-bearer of rock and soul began his multi-platinum streak in 1975, followed by a decade of nearly 20 consecutive top 40 singles, all of which celebrated Bob Seger's allegiance to and love affair with the music that provided his escape from an impoverished childhood. Traffic -- Nurtured in the communal flush of the British Invasion, Traffic outgrew its psychedelic pop roots to become a true fusion group – melding a folk- inspired simplicity with bluesy jazz improv that was given plenty of space on its extended compositions. ZZ Top -- With the Texas soul, outlaw boogie, and souped-up hot rod funk served up by the durable power trio of Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard – ZZ Top – is literally the last word in rock. Three- plus decades on, these Funky Kings might just go on forever. In commenting on this year's inductees, Evans said, "These inductees represent many influential genres of rock and roll, including pop, funk, soul, boogie and psychedelia. We expect this year's show to be unique and exciting with highly anticipated moments." Artists become eligible for induction 25 years after the release of their first record. Criteria considered includes the influence and significance of the artist's contribution to the development and perpetuation of rock and roll. The Foundation's nominating committee, composed of rock and roll historians, selects nominees each year in the "artist" category. Ballots are then sent to an international voting body of about 700 rock experts. The honoree in the Lifetime Achievement Award in the Non-Performer Category will be announced shortly. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation was formed in 1983 and the first induction ceremony was held in 1986. All inductees are represented in the "Hall of Fame", a permanent exhibit at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame & Museum, in Cleveland Ohio. |
