Sanna to join Nip/Tuck (BV)
Sanaa Lathan is getting back in the swing of things.
The 'Love & Basketball' star signed on to star in the sensational FX network series 'Nip/Tuck,' reports 'The Hollywood Reporter.' For the hit show's fourth season, Lathan will reportedly play a beautiful young woman married to a wealthy, elderly man who buys the McNamara/Troy plastic surgery practice, which the show revolves around. Earlier this year, Lathan, who starred in films like 'Brown Sugar,' and 'Disappearing Acts,' was in the midst of media controversy when she broke her silence and addressed long-standing rumors about an alleged affair with Denzel Washington, whom she co-starred alongside in the 2003 thriller 'Out of Time.' The torrid scandal erupted when news circulated that she was carrying the long-time married Academy Award winner's illegitimate baby. "(The rumor) got started because the movie had a love scene with Denzel, and people took that and translated it to real life," she told 'Vibe' magazine. "They said I was pregnant with Denzel's child, and people were calling my mother, saying I'm having his baby. It's frustrating." The Yale Drama School alum, who is also TV producer Stan Lathan's daughter, was reportedly slated for a cover of top-selling black women's magazine 'Essence' -- timed to hit stands with her latest movie 'Something New.' But Tyler Perry and the female cast of 'Madea's Family Reunion' graced the cover in the slot that was supposedly reserved for the bronze beauty. Before the magazine went to press, New York City tabloids reported that Lathan didn’t mince words about how 'Essence' writer Jeanine Amber probed her about the Washington scandal. The Sanaa Hamri-directed interracial romantic comedy, now available on home video, didn't live up to box-office expectations only bringing in $4.8 million opening weekend. Nevertheless, Lathan, who garnered a Tony Award nomination for her Broadway debut in the 2004 revival of Lorraine Hansberry's classic play 'A Raisin in the Sun,' is expected to join fellow cast members -- Sean "Diddy" Combs, Audra McDonald and Phylicia Rashad -- in the Kenny Leon-helmed television adaptation, which is set to start production later this year. |
I really like her, esp in Predator vs Alien.
They just re-ran the series pilot last night. So I guess the reruns will happen until the new season starts in September. I can't wait! |
HC I was up watching the series pilot...hadn't seen the first season and got hooked on last year's season. Can't wait until September!

just watched it - and i am totally looking forward to this season!

Me too! I think Sanaa's role on the show is going to be very interested. Also, I don't think that Brooke Shield's character was trying to state that Christian was gay. Christian isn't gay but he does have a relationship with Sean that is hard to penetrate through. Although...they did have that threesome together back in Season 2.

When did Kimber become a therapist? ETA: Ooooooh, she's a scientologist!!
Why are Sean and Julia snapping on their daughter like that? She is just a child. She has no idea of what will be wrong with the baby. If they don't help her deal with it, she won't understand. But, how can they help her when they don't know what to do either....? I hope Christian hurries up and finds what he is looking for because I am sick and tired of seeing him in random sexcapades week after week. ETA: JT!!! Milk does a booty.... eh, I mean body, good! :p :D |

was it his or a body double's? the camera angle made it look like he had a double.
it was nice, though. better than Dr. Troy's flat, pale booty:p |
I was surprised that Shaun's but was tanner and seemed to be more firm. :D

Last night's episode was great!!!
1. Sanaa Lathan rocks!! 2. A.C. Slater...yummy!!! :) 3. I apologize for laughing when the nurse applicant said "calling that child handicapable is like calling me vertically challenged (or whatever)." I saw his point about walking on eggshells around the child and also about changing the hands, but I DID cringe when I saw the baby's hands. :( 4. The scenes from the upcoming episodes made me wish I didn't always forget when Nip Tuck comes on. :D |
