No. The newspaper said that they were setting up appointments for them. I had wondered what was going on. I called a month ago to try to get an appointment and the receptionist said that they were only vaccinating staff members and their relatives. I didn't realize that it meant relatives who were young and perfectly healthy!

I think the system is so locally controlled, there are a lot of people jumping the line...just from the anecdotes I'm hearing from some colleagues who've been vaccinated and the reasons they give for getting a slot. In Michigan, it depends on your location, too. Areas with a high population of socially vulnerable people are getting more doses.

Meanwhile, my husband got his second Moderna dose two days ago...no pain or side effects again.

Got my second dose of Moderna today. Arm pain about 4/10. And my husband got his first dose yesterday, the Pfizer, no pain or side effects. God bless him, he did supper and dishes tonight. He does that anyway, but still...

My husband got his second Pfizer last week-no side effects whatsoever.

I got my second (and last) Covid vaccine shot—Pfizer—early this morning. I’ve felt okay all day but in the last half hour—about 10 hours out—I’m crashing a bit: terribly sore shoulder (difficult to raise) and extreme lethargy.

But like everybody else, it’s a small price to pay for the protection and peace of mind it affords.

OKAY!! Glad I’m the next one to post. I’ll continue my second Pfizer shot saga ⬆️ from yesterday...last night was ROUGH: I slept 10 hours, alternating freezing and sweating all night; one hour I couldn’t get warm enough, the next hour I was throwing off covers. I had a sore throat and kept rolling over on my sore arm which was at least a 6/10 when I went to bed. This morning my eyes were almost matted shut...like I’ve had from the effects of the flu.

This morning—I’m OVER THE HUMP! I woke up much improved and starved! I drank a quick cup of coffee and downed a yogurt and toast. My arm is still sore (4/10) but overall I’m better. No headache fortunately.

So that’s my saga. PLEASE you all—keep these going. Your previous stories helped me immensely in knowing what to expect.

I desperately want to be scheduled for a Friday so I won't get side effects in front of my class.

I was scheduled for my second Pfizer shot on 2/22. Received a call yesterday letting me know it will have to be delayed. Because of the midwest weather, no deliveries have been received. They are hoping to reschedule us by the end of the week.

I was able to score an appointment last night when they dropped just before midnight- for 3/13. I'm glad I got Saturday as it will give me a day after without having to work in case I'm feeling crummy.

I got the second one--I ran a mild fever and had a kind of sore arm for a day but it wasn't as bad as the first time.

Now teachers can get the vaccine and I'm glad for my co-workers! Our students have been in person, mostly unmasked, all year. Still, our Covid rate has been quite a bit lower than that of other schools in the region, even masked ones.

We had a major debacle last week...the university sent out an email inviting all faculty, students, and staff for leftover vaccines due to cancelled appointments. I called and scheduled my son and I for the next day. It turns out only those in clinical placements (student teachers, nurses, clinical faculty) were supposed to be invited. It appears some top administrators had a heads up an scheduled/went that afternoon, along with others who had called and got in that afternoon. By the next morning, they had figured out the error and our appointments were cancelled. It made the news.

I am eligible in California to get my vaccine and I’ve been trying for an appointment for days. Just got confirmation that I get my first shot tomorrow. So I’m either getting Moderna, Pfizer or Astra Zeneca. (Even though these are two different items, I’m glad I’m not getting the Johnson and Johnson vaccine because they can’t even get baby powder right! Apologies if anybody works for J&J.) I live less than a mile from the vaccination center and it’s a drive-through.

So excited! I had COVID-19 last year early on. And while I did not have to go to the hospital it took a long time to recover. I am still dealing with long-hauler symptoms and the vaccine is supposed to get rid of those. Cannot wait!

I'm still ineligible to get the vaccine. Louisiana has received quite a number of doses, and there are mass distribution sites throughout the state (I could walk to one of them), but nope. Even though I'm a cancer survivor and have other comorbidities - I'm still ineligible. :mad: (Eligibility: 55+ with comorbidities, 65+ regardless of comorbidities, medical personnel, police, teachers, and pregnant women.)

The evil part of me wants to find someone who's pregnant, get her to pee on a stick, and use that as "proof" that I'm "pregnant" and should get my jabs. The ethical and moral part of me is stronger, so I will wait my turn. But I wish I could just get my jabs already... :(

My husband was the first to get his - Moderna - no effect whatsoever.
Next, I drove to Pearland and got my first - Moderna - sore arm for a few days, lethargy.
My younger son got his Saturday - drove to Bay City - Pfizer - no effect, really.
Elder son is not yet scheduled.

I am waiting to be scheduled for my second. My son is already scheduled, so it will be another drive down to Bay City (about an hour and a half).

Two of my sons are interning in schools. I wish that made them eligible for the vaccine now. They managed to get through fall without getting Covid.
