I agree, at this point GX doesn't exist, even if at some point people were trying to make it so, and neither does FGX. My point was merely that words can hurt ... that's all. Words are never just words, even if they're not serious. Posting what appears to be an insult in a sig is going to hurt people's feelings, and I do disagree with you as far as thinking that people are oversensitive if they are hurt by it. I doubt either one of us will convince the other, however. I hope your day is as nice is mine is going to be. Because mine is a Friday and is going to be very, very nice! |
Since everyone has stated their case....
I'm finding these GX/FGX threads to be more and more useless. Can we go back to discussing things that could potentially be beneficial? Like parties, graduations and things we want to be famous for? This whole GX/FGX thing to someone who is not greek (and they do read these boards to see what we're like) would leave a bad taste in someone's mouth. We are all ambassadors of our respective organizations, let's act like it. LHT Kevin MT #5 University of Central Oklahoma |
ill start - thanks fuzzie for signing my guestbook on my website :)

I'm more than ready for this to be over. I really don't care at this point whether GX continues or not. Do what you wish...but just do it somewhere else. That way people like myself won't have to resort to being rude and bitchy (because I'm normally not that way). Please Please Please someone delete these threads because we're going around in circles. It's really frustrating and I think that's why people are getting so upset with each other. Normally we're all happy nice people...let's go back to being that way. I'll agree not to post in here again. Hopefully some others will follow me. I know that this should honestly be the last of my worries because I've got a big fundraising event and finals to prepare for. Hope you all have a great weekend.

Fuzzie Alum...I also want to extend my apologies to you for being so rude. Hopefully all of this will go away soon. I hope you'll realize that I'm normally not a mean person. I think ktsnake was right in saying that we are all ambassadors for our respective organizations and I definitely wasn't acting like I should have been.

Thanks to Sarah for her thanks.
Thanks to Kevin for reminding me why we're all here in a nice way. Thanks to Allison for her apology. Sorry to Allison and anyone I offended/got excited over any of this. It isn't worth it. Like Allison, this will be my last post here. |
What the #%*@????
Wow, I must have been gone for longer that I thought. The last time I heard anything about Gamma Chi was when the idea was first brought about. And now I come back to the site and it seems like everyone is on drugs or something. No offense to anyone......I guess I just better explain why I see this whole thing as being completely pointless.
Ok, I thought that Gamma Chi was this cute little idea that someone came up with. When some people decided to go nuts and make it a real thing is beyond me. I thought that anyone who liked being a part of the Greek Chat community and wanted to spread the good aspects of greek life could put the letters on their signature. I thought this just represented a cute little thing that brought us all together on the issue of greek unity. In no WAY did I think anyone would be so crazy (for lack of a better word) to make it a REAL organization with initiation and pledge classes and stuff. Are you INSANE? Who cares if non greeks want to put the letters on thier signature! If they are promoting good will towards greeks I don't see the problem. Why do we need to make this thing real? I feel like I'm in some drug-induced halucination right now. Is this all a big joke and I think everyone is being serious because I haven't been on the boards for awhile? I really don't know what to think. This just seems so insane to me I don't even know how to put my thoughts into words right now. Here is what I say should be done: FORGET all this crap about bylaws, making requirements for who can say they're a "member," and basically ANYTHING that would make it like a REAL organization. Let it go back to being a creative funny idea someone came up with. I'm sure the person that came up with it did not fathom making it a real operating organization. Why do we need to do that? WE DON'T. I hope I haven't offended anyone in any way by what I've said; you'll have to excuse me for the fact that I haven't been on the boards in awhile. I am hoping that all this is some big joke, PLEASE someone PM me and tell me it is. |
lol kristi - welcome back :) no, its not a hallucination - unfortunately.

Whoa, talk about bringing old threads back! I was confused for a few moments.

Gamma Chi was a real heartbreaker for me. :(
When I visited their house during rush...everyone was so friendly and I loved the outfits that they wore during their skits. The refreshments were refreshing and I JUST KNOW I would have made a great member. However, I was cut really hard after the first round. I dont know why, I'm cute, smart, have a GREAT personality and had a ton of Recs. I guess Gamma Chi has high standards and take the recruitment process seriously. Fortunately Gamma Pi* gave me a bid during COB and things have been ok. They havent done maintenance on their house in some time and no one ever visits, but I LOVE our colors. (I would point you to our website but most of the links dont work.) I guess these things just work out this way and I'm happy. Besides, I hear Gamma Chi hazes their pledges anyway. *(Greek Pages) |
