I kinda thought you would say that. Maybe you are not as aware of how you 'sound' when you ask and say some of the things you post. I am sure you think you are being inquisitive and trying to ask critical questions, but they just come off as being nasty and trying to start conflict, i.e., your most recent post in the AKA forum about membership requirements / numbers. The way you worded your question / statement was really condesending (?sp) and kinda on the attack. That is why your posts get deleted. Rather than deal with the stuff you say, people would rather not read it and not leave it there for others to read.

Your posts are kinda like those people who really stink, but don't realize that they stink when everyone else around them does.

I also didn't check to see how old this thread was but had to add my $1913.04

Most of the other orgs I have seen using canes have been in a stepshow capacity either as a honor to the Kappas (AKAs, DST, SGRho) or as a dis (Alphas, Ques). I know Sigmas use them as well as Sgrhos but not as faithfully.

Dropping a cane has nothing to do with being a Nupe...it is a human mistake. Wow...I can't believe that you are still posting after all of the negative feed back that you have been receiving.

:D First of all, we haven't stolen anything from anyone. I'm not making a claim that kappas stole the cane from us, nor the omegas and the "dogmatic image." The fact of the matter is we did it FIRST! PERIOD. NO, they don't have the same meanings within our respective organizations, but canes and the dogmatic image are both parts of our "Rites of Passage" and were there from the very beginning. Being of great historical and symbolic importance to us. The founder that the kappas honor by carrying the cane(if that's accurate), if I'm not mistaken, didn't die in 1911, did he? And the explanation that the omegas have for the dogmatic image (tenacity, aggression) wasn't written until 50 or 60 years after they were founded. We can agree to disagree but, the statement that my fraternity stole traditions is ignorant, & can't factually be supported. That is all.:cool:
