GREAT NEWS
Tonight I was reading the Time Warner monthly cable guide and lo and behold . . . .
October 2 Cartoon Network 11:00pm starring John Witherspoon, Regina King and Cedric Yarbrough :D THE BOOOOOOOOOOOONDOCKS!!!!!! **dancing** |
^^^
I have my VCR on standby. :D |
Yay!!!! Something to get me watching CN again (besides Scooby)!! I miss my Powerpuff Girls and Cow and Chicken. :(
I wish we had the Boondocks here. It's not going to happen in Bush-loving SC. I think the nearest paper that has it is The Charlotte Observer. Well, at least we have Curtis and Jump Start.:) |

from tv.com 'Boondocks' Bounced Back to November (Wednesday, September 21 12:01 PM) LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) The long-gestating animated series "Boondocks" will gestate a little bit longer before it sees the light of Adult Swim. The Cartoon Network has moved the show's premiere date, originally scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 2, back about a month. The animated adventures of Huey and Riley Freeman will now begin Sunday, Nov. 6; the show will air weekly as part of the Sunday-night Adult Swim block. The slow process of producing an animated show is to blame for the switch in premiere dates, the network says. If the cable channel had stuck with the original premiere date, it would have had only a few completed episodes in hand and likely would have had to resort to repeats only a few weeks in. The later premiere date allows Cartoon Network to build up a bigger stack of shows to run. And given the long development history of "Boondocks," another month doesn't seem that long. The show, based on Aaron McGruder's sometimes-controversial comic strip was originally developed at FOX two seasons back, but McGruder has said the network wanted the show to stick to a more conventional, A- and B-story sitcom structure. The show landed at Adult Swim last year. Even as late as July, when McGruder and members of the show's voice cast met reporters at the Television Critics Association press tour, Cartoon Network had only a short clip to show. "Boondocks" features the voices of Regina King ("Ray") as Huey and Riley, John Witherspoon (the "Friday" movies) as Granddad and Gary Anthony Williams ("Malcolm in the Middle") as Uncle Ruckus. |
