4 houses left. I have never been this exhausted in my entire life. Updates to come when I'm done for the day!

You'll be way more exhausted if you get to experience recruitment from the other side next year. Remember that when judging conversations you have with active members.

That seems weird that they would bring stuff like that up at rush - it isn't exactly a feel-good topic. Or was it OMG PNM TAKE YOUR GLUE OFF THE END TABLE RIGHT NOW.

Okay friends, here's the scoop.

After Shark this morning, I had a break where I fixed my hair and ate some food. Then, a few hours later...

Sting Ray: These girls are so devoted to their philanthropy. They were one of the few houses that actually did active volunteer work with their organization instead of just holding benefits a few times a year and sending a check for the money they raised. We did a really adorable craft. We also did a house tour. Their house is so big, and inside it is very airy and bright with big rooms and nice furniture. I had some more great conversations here today and had a nice time overall.
Jellyfish: Their house was very homey, but it just didn't have that old school charm to it. The rooms were big and nice, but it wasn't super welcoming. They also had a lot of house rules that seemed really strict and nitpicky to me. Also, they only talked about their philanthropy very briefly. There was apparently a craft, but my guide didn't take me to it, and now that I think of it I don't even remember what their cause was. The girls were super sweet, though, just like yesterday. Had some really nice conversations.
Otter: SO glad I came back to this one today. Their house was really nice inside, and I had much better conversations with the sisters than I did yesterday. I really bonded with one of them in particular! I also did a really sweet craft to support a great organization. I was so busy meeting new people and having fun that I didn't even look for my friends who were sisters there already!
Dolphin: Had such a fun time with these girls. We laughed about everything on the house tour and I was just able to be myself. They have a great philanthropy cause that they didn't talk too much about... I wish I had had the chance to learn more!
Beluga Absolutely LOVE this house's philanthropy! Did a great craft and talked with the philanthropy chair about how they are actively involved in supporting their organization and volunteer there regularly. Their house is the second biggest on campus and freshly remodeled...it was just a big gorgeous mansion! Had a hilarious conversation with the chapter president about how both of us are awful cooks and wish we were better so that our boyfriends wouldn't think we were such failures. :)
Humpback: My legacy house. Big, beautiful, welcoming. Had wonderful conversations with two sisters about studying abroad, playing piano, and what it was like to be in their sisterhood. They showed a video during their philanthropy that I (along with half the sisters) actually teared up at. It was so sweet and moving.

About to go rank now. I think I am going to put Shark and Jellyfish in the bottom two positions. I like both houses, especially Jellyfish, a lot but they just don't seem right for me.

I wish I had a better idea of which house I belong in most, although I guess it's good that I have four that I love pretty much equally. If I'm lucky, I will get to go to them all for skit day, but I expect I will be cut from at least one or more tomorrow. Either way, whatever will be will be, and I'm excited to continue on with the recruitment process. :)

It is kind of weird that Jellyfish brought up house rules. Was it something along the lines of "men not allowed on the sleeping floors between certain hours" or "no food outside the dining room"? Or something else? Those two rules are pretty common rules in most chapter houses.

It sounds like you are having a wonderful time. It's pretty great when even the ones that you place at the bottom of your list gave you a positive impression. Enjoy the rest of your recruitment.
