I'm not sure why I took so long to read this thread, but I'm overwhelmed by the amount of royal knowledge I just stuffed into my pea sized head. What a wonderful history lesson on the monarchy!

PEOPLE DID A STORY ON MAESTRO WARREN-GREEN!!! I really have to emphasis again want a wonderful guy he is. He could have had a giant head about all of this, but he really is an extremely humble, pleasant to work with person. He is also AMAZING to watch on the podium. Y'all (audience people) really miss the best part of the concert, since his back is to you while the music is happening. You can really see the music just flow through him - it's beautiful! |
Bumping to remind everyone to polish their tiaras for early Friday morning!

Part of me thinks this is really lame, and I have my own issues with the British Monarchy, but I really like Kate Middleton. She's extremely attractive and it seems like she's really got her head on straight. If she had a reputation as a ditz or a party girl the British tabs would have been all over it. |

I also bought some English Breakfast tea to drink in the morning while watching. I just hope I like her dress. I would hate to be disapointed. :p |
This whole thing is giving me the creeps big time. I hope it has a better ending than Diana and Charles. I don't think it is possible to be prepared for the life that Kate is about to be thrust into no matter how old she is or how much living she has done. I find myself feeling sorry for her and concerned for her.
ETA: I guess I'm Dee Downer |
Anyone hear about the Royal Guard who insulted Kate on Facebook? Honestly, "nothing's sacred anymore." I forget that the members of the Royal Guard are humans like anyone else. Underneath that uniform was an 18yo kid with not quite enough common sense.

I'm thinking Earl Grey (in china), with scones and maybe a mimosa or two! |
Royal Weddings Past
Ok so you all have gone way past my interest in the wedding, but here's some past photographs of royal weddings. Also in interesting news, one of my younger sister's sorority sisters from college is on the Royally Mad BBC America show. Apologies for the size: http://i.imgur.com/9lyUI.jpg Quote:

I am taking the day off (first vacation day since my honeymoon in October) and heading to my mom's for a party. I am bringing my box of tea from the Empress Hotel in Victoria, BC, supposedly commissioned by the Queen. And scones.

So what coverage is everyone watching? Right now I have it set to DVR BBC, but it's not HD.
