GatorKate-

I'm sorry you're experiencing some negative feelings towards your past sorority recruitments. I saw something another poster said that I thought was important to repeat.

If you knew that you had messed it up yourself by saying you weren't sure and then they put you lower on their list, is that going to make you feel any better? No, you're probably going to feel worse because it was your mistake.

If you knew that it hadn't had anything to do with what you said, and they put you lower on their list just because they didn't want you badly enough, would that make you feel any better? Probably not, because it's going to mean they wanted other girls more.

It seems like you're happy in your chapter now. I don't know if it was one of the ones you originally referenced or not but I can absolutely promise you that the way to experience the best time posisble with the chapter you are in now is to give it your all and stop the second thoughts about your freshman rush. Things tend to work out best for people who make the best of the way things work out. Good luck :)

I am assuming that you talked with your floormates/roommates/mom/aunts first. But if the depression, anxiety, or really "off" feelings persist: talk to a professional.

Well said. Face to face communication is a heck of a lot better than attempts at message board therapy anyhow!

UGHHHHH. Did you all really make me just create another GC identity so I can comment on this annonomously?
Some of you need to CALM DOWN. You are the reason why we rarely have PNMs starting threads about recruitment or whatever anymore-
you are, to put it simply, assholes to girls like the OP alllllll the time. Stop spending your time "investigating" other posters
or tearing apart their posts for errors in an attempt to discredit them, it's crazy! Specifically, I don't actually think the OP was a troll
but she WAS coming here for advice. There are a core few of you who routinely get into it with new posters, you know who you are.
I'm going to break it down for that core group right now-the majority of you received COR BIDS!!!!! (Yes, the rest of us are capable of trackbacks too)
You really have NO place belittling someone who actually went through a very tough formal rush(TWICE!!) at a competitive school.
I could argue that you didn't even have the "traditional" GLO experience. I want to keep posting on the site under my normal
profile and keep encouraging and welcoming PNMs, but you are making it impossible to do so with pride. Please, for the sake
of GC, lay off of these posters. It hurts my heart to read Katie's posts, because she's right about that lack of sisterhood.
Most of you know and like me, so please, spare me the troll/flounce/ crap.

You do realize that nobody is going to take this seriously right? If you truly feel this strongly about it, use your regular handle, or be prepared to be taken as a joke.

GatorKate 07-02-2010 08:15 PM

why, Vito? So you all can bully me off here? I sent a PM to the OP and will send a few others to those GCers I think I have a shot at getting through to. I think far too many other posters secretly feel this way too for this post to be considered a "joke" I said what I needed to sya and I hope maybe someone listened.

A) stalker
B) Use your real handle if you're a big kid.
C) Stop trying to make some sort of dramatic point, you're getting bitched at because you're you, and you're lying.
D) This "PNM" was a troll. She got bitched at because she was a troll. Her specific reactions to the response and her LIES proved her to be a troll. If you have some reason you think she wouldn't be a troll, please do share. Unless you know, you're her.
E) No one "made you" sockpuppet. BE A BIG KID AND POST UNDER YOUR REAL NAME.

I'm starting to think you're a mod tryin to make a point and not get busted instead of our usual troll.

The level of fail exhibited here is just too much. I can't.

Dumbassery at its finest.

AZTheta 07-02-2010 10:24 PM

Only good thing about this thread: it led me to read Barbie's_Rush and Chuck Norris's recruitment stories. Classic, the epitome of great stories IMHO.

My life is complete.
