The only thing I called you (outside of reiterating 'racist') ...was an idiot.

I have been your asshole all night however...

With your question I see you made your choice...

Siiigh...some people never like the easy and relaxed way.

Nice pics. You are going to have some great tales about Obamastock to look back on and to regale people with. I envy you!

Did you really just refer to the Presidential Inauguration as "Obamastock"?

Sure. Why not? I really was referring to the whole assembling of people for the occasion, not the ceremony itself anyway.

It was a musical celebration of the entry of Obama's administration.

However, I hope this isn't another instance of the person overshadowing the process.

My sister's boss got to have dinner with Desmond Tutu, but I don't know if she got a pic. Still cool, though.

That's exactly how it is. Obama has been made out to be a celebrity, not a President. Comments like "Obamastock" and, as one of my friends on myspace had as his status, "Do you smell what Barack is cooking", very much liken it to some kind of entertainment event. This is NOT entertaining. It's history. It's a new person in the office who will hopefully help us. I think something similar would have happened if Hilary had been the one in the spotlight. Although I'm not sure we'd see her face on a pair of thongs.

This is why disrespect of Bush isn't funny. It wasn't funny when he was booooooed and it wasn't funny when he had a shoe thrown at him.

None of these people are above the process and what they represent.

It can be but it isn't required to be.

I consider most of this renewed interest in politics and the government to be fleeting and a fad. Remove the "fun" and newness of the election-inauguration, and the panic over the economy, and it's bad to the same old same old.

More goodies that I would like to share with you all...

Went back thru my camera...I actually got some shots of the swearing in ceremony. Not the clearest shots in the world but hey, even a zoom lens has its limits...ENJOY!
