2014 did not started well. I am back in Austin and thankful I landed a job. My husband is still in Northeast Ohio dealing with the cold and the house that is not holding to the bad weather.

We were in a car accident during the January ice storm in Austin and I hurt my ribs. The ribs are healing slowly and I am staying postive.

The biggest heartbrake is my father-in-law has been diagnosed with ALS. He has two years. My uncle passed away last August with the same disease which is absolutely awful. I need to be strong for my husband.

Oh no! I feel for you. My godfather was recently diagnosed with atypical ALS which seems not to respond well to medication. It was pretty shocking and upsetting news but seeing him last weekend helped. I'm sorry you have to go through this and just know that I'm praying for you and would love if you'd do the same for me. *hugs*

BTW...I've started calling my little cousin Kai-bear (her name is Kaiya). It just popped out one day and it was familiar enough that I knew I'd heard it from someone but couldn't place it. :p

I know it might seem minor, but I'm dealing with some major stress in my life right now. The worst thing is my insomnia that has just come on. Sleep deprivation triggers my seizures, and when I can't sleep, I'm so scared I'll have a seizure that it's hard for me to do anything. I'm hoping I can start sleeping well at night again.

My father in law is getting treatment at Cleveland clinic. Hopefully he will be comfortable. I pray and hope the best for your godfather.

It is with a very heavy heart that I come to report that I've been notified that AGDLynn is in ICU and is moving to hospice tomorrow. There is nothing more they can do for her. Please pray for her peaceful transition to her place in heaven, for her husband and family, and for her sisters. Lynn has been a tremendous asset to Alpha Gamma Delta as a Chapter Advisor for one of our Georgia chapters. I got to know her first on GC, but met her in person at Convention one year and she became a dear sister to me. She is one of the warmest most thoughtful women I've ever met and my heart is breaking that I'll never see my sister/friend again.

I am truly sorry and sending prayers.

I will be praying for our Panhellenic sister, AGDLynn. May she know the peace which surpasses all understanding and the love she shared in this part of her life.

Damn. Cancer takes down yet another amazing person. Prayers to AGDLynn, family, sisters and friends.

I am so sorry to hear this! My mom lost her best friend in September to Leukemia that was caused by the chemo she had from when she battled Lymphoma in 2011. It's such a horrible disease. Many prayers to AGDLynn, her family, her friends, and her sisters.

I lost my mother to cancer less than a year ago. She had a high level of care in the ICU - not so much when she was moved to an ordinary patient floor. But she was ultimately placed in the ICU and then the PCU - in the PCU, immediate family could visit 24/7. I took advantage of that, and I'm so glad I did - I got to spend a few hours alone with her, and, although she was unconscious, I'm sure she knew I was there and holding her hand and praying for her.

AGDLynn is in my prayers ... :(

She has leukemia. I'm told she is unconscious.

Oh, Lynn. :( Prayers for her and her family. I truly hope she feels no pain and knows how much she is loved.

I'm glad it made you smile! I can report that she (and 3 of her brothers) caught head lice from school--I will give her a "Kai-bear hug" from you once I'm willing to get near her again. :p

For those who didn't see it in the other thread, Lynn passed this morning.

I'm glad she didn't suffer for too long but so sad she's gone. Heaven gained one hell of an angel.

I didn't make it onto GC yesterday, but somehow I had a feeling. RIP, Lynn.

I feel bad asking this after hearing the news about Lynn, but my mom lost her job today. Obviously I'm kind of freaking out about it, even though there is nothing to do.
