You know it occurred to me that you might actually do racing in real life...that is awesome

I hate iCloud with a passion...but I have no choice but to deal with it every day of my working life.....

PB...I have a PS2 and an Xbox 360...I will most likely get the new WII (I've forgotten the name...Revolution?) if and only if, I get a new full DK game...otherwise, I'm sticking with the Xbox....damn Microsoft pulling me in and I really don't want to get out (that's the problem)

I take it you don't plan on storing anything in the cloud?

Nope if I don't have a signal I still want access to my files. And what's cool is I used the dictation function to type this statement

Do you still play your PS2? I still have my original XBox, and I still play it. I have a PS3 and a 360, too. I enjoy all three.

Ya know, I think I would actually wear these...if they worked.

Sergey Brin was spotted this evening sporting a pair of Google Glasses, the augmented-reality specs the Web giant is working on.

Brin was photographed wearing a prototype pair of the eyeglasses while he posed with tech evangelist Robert Scoble this evening at a charity event in San Francisco.

"The Google Glasses are real! Here is a set on @sergeybrinn cofounder of Googl @ Palace Hotel, San Francisco," Scoble wrote, including the picture in a Twitter post. "They look very light weight. Not much different than a regular set of glasses," he wrote in another tweet.

But that is as close as Brin would let Scoble get to his specs, Scobble wrote in another tweet:

Robert Scoble

@Scobleizer

Sergey wouldn't let me wear the Google Glasses but I could see they were flashing info to him. I so want one of these!

Google finally acknowledged yesterday that it was working on eyeglasses that could stream data to the wearer's eyes in real time. Google posted a video on YouTube showing someone wearing the glasses as he made his way around variety of Manhattan venues, receiving up-to-the-minute updates as information streamed into his glasses.

The video showed an Oakley-like metallic glasses frame curves around a person's forehead and is held up with nose pads. On the right of the frame was a thin device, presumably a small computer, and translucent screen just above and to the right of the right eye.

Word of the special glasses -- being touted by the company as Project Glass -- has apparently been a bit of an open secret for months on the Web giant's Mountain View, Calif., campus. Rumors began to spread last December that Google was working on high-tech glasses with a wearable head-up display that could tap into cloud-based location services and detail users' surroundings.

I saw part of the video demonstration of this and they looked pretty cool. I don't think I'd be able to see the display now though. Things up close are just too blurry. They need to figure that out if they want anybody over 45 to get them!

I'm a little anxious that I won't be able to use my phone while on this cruise. It is such a strange feeling!

Actually cutting the cords on cruises can be liverating sometimes...

The thing that worries me about the Xbox are the issues the 360 has had for so many years. I'm sure the new XBox will have a whole new set of problems of its own. What makes me mad about the 360 is they really never worked out the "ring of death" problem with the older generation 360s. I haven't heard/read about any problems with the new one but, that's poor customer service to put out a poor quality product like they did. I had my first 360 for only 7 months before it had the "ring of death" issue. I sold it to Game Stop because they were buying back broken 360s at the time. I waited 3 years before I bought another one because, I was trying to wait for them to work out those problems. I ended up with the Halo Addition 360. I've had it for over 3 years now, without any issues -knock on wood. I doubt I'll buy another XBox. I don't trust the product.

DS, thanks for that update, man.

DaemonSeid 04-13-2012 04:46 AM

I had my 1st xbox since day one and had only one rrod. I only upgraded after the newer ones had the hdmi ports built in and not one problem with it. I got my ps3 used like 3 years ago and no probs whatsoever and luckily it was one of the ones with backwards capability. I am not happy that supposedly the newer systems from both companies may have safeguards from being able to play pre owned games.
