Greek Affairs at Kansas State is releasing the following information today:
Quota was 47, 9 of 11 sororities reached or exceeded quota through formal recruitment, one of the two not reaching quota through FR has already reached quota through COB. End of information to be released. It's better than nothing, but not much!

SWTXBelle 08-25-2008 01:20 PM

FSU Gamma Phi Beta is reporting 51 new Gammies.

DZHBrown 08-25-2008 04:16 PM

Delta Zeta at U of Louisville has 38 new members; Nebraska Wesleyan has 22.

ISUKappa 08-25-2008 06:44 PM

It appears quota at Iowa State was 29. There were almost 150 more PNMs signed up than last year, which accounts for the huge increase.

I just looked at AOII's site at Iowa State. They have 31 New Members! Congratulations, Iota Sigma!

P.S. I was just checking out the schools in Louisiana. The Psi Psi Chapter of ASA recolonized in the late 90s/early 2000. There were only two active chapters, Tri Sigma and Phi Mu, when AOII colonized. ASA came back no earlier than 98.

From the Tri Delta forum:

I was just about to post that Theta took quota with 29 this year at Iowa State.

DZHBrown 08-25-2008 08:10 PM

I originally heard that quota at SFASU in TX was 17, but I'm now hearing it was 21.

catiebug 08-25-2008 09:42 PM

That is wayyyyyyy down from what it was when I was there in the late 80s/early 90s. Back then we had deferred rush - not sure when it moved to the fall.

U of Florida - 47 new members

keystone 209 08-26-2008 04:28 PM

Fall recruitment at Rowan University in New Jersey will be taking place September 14-21st. There is no quota for fall recruitment, it all depends on the current number of actives (total = 50)

What does this mean? It's not like I'm holding out on you. If I have the results, they're posted.

I just don't understand how she could be cut! She's an angel and I made sure to tell her not to shack up with boys till at least her junior year! I'm going to call my chapter and stop writing checks to them! Shame on them!

SydneyK 08-27-2008 08:18 AM

Morehead State University
Quota = 19
KD, Chi O, G Phi B, and DG all got 19.
DZ took 15, and Tri Sigma 0.

AGDLynn 08-27-2008 05:57 PM

West Georgia has 272 pnms to sign up.

Wow, that could mean 30+ new members for each group!:D

Last year, about 150 signed up but 130-ish showed up. Quota was only 15, down from the low 20's of previous years.

This is the most in recent years!

DZHBrown 08-27-2008 10:17 PM

Quota at Clemson was 54 and DZ has 58 new members.

southern greek 08-28-2008 10:19 AM

Lynn: the new Greek Advisor and this year's Panhellenic officers have REALLY been putting out the welcome mat. They have been at every orientation during the summer and beginning of school, as well as setting up tables for the last several weeks at many different spots on campus. I think they have also had a copy of the upcoming Greek housing at the tables for interested girls to look at. I am SO glad that they are seeing the fruits of all that work! And today is the first day of rush!!! I'm not even going to call my daughter, nor expect to hear from her, until Monday late.

AGDLynn 08-28-2008 07:15 PM

I'm going on Sat.

Maybe I'll see her at the alumnae Panhellenic sign in table and I'll let you know how cute she is.

Of course, I can't talk to her, loll.

BBelleADPi 08-28-2008 07:42 PM

Awww....'tanks!

AOII Angel 08-28-2008 09:45 PM

According to inCircle, AOII was the only group at Jacksonville State in Alabama to make quota, which was 17.

How on Earth is that possible? LOL.

My chapter--DZ at Jacksonville State--got 14 girls, according to my extremely unscientific method of counting new faces in the pics some of my sisters posted on Facebook. ;)

According to my source at inCircle, JSU just started using RFM this year. I guess some chapters screwed it up. Hopefully next year will run better. AOII reaped the benefits this year.

ComradesTrue 08-29-2008 06:04 AM

Theta at TCU took 47 new members (quota + 4).

AlphaXi1997 08-29-2008 10:03 AM

University of Northern Iowa

I heard that all of the chapters at University of Northern Iowa made quota - yay for UNI!

srmom 08-29-2008 11:35 AM

Here's the results of our neighborhood girls:

U Texas- 2 Chi O, 1 Theta, and 6 () Kappas, also, my one sophomore rushing there went Alpha Phi.

A&M- 3 Chi O, 3 Pi Phi, 1 Kappa, 1 Theta, 1 AXO, 2 Zeta, 2 Tri Delt (including a sophomore), 1 DG

TCU- 2 Chi O, 1 Zeta, and 2 dropouts

LSU- 2 Kappas, 2 Pi Phis, 2 DG

Georgia- 2 Chi O, 1 Pi Phi

Alabama- 1 Kappa

Florida- 1 Theta

That's all I know for now. It helps to go to the football game with many chatty and happy moms:p

How could they screw it up? Cutting way more girls than recommended? Cutting people that were "unrealistic" for them?

I'm sort of fascinated by the situation because I've never heard of a situation where only one group on a campus made quota... at least not at a southern school where sororities take most of their members via formal recruitment.

irishpipes 08-29-2008 12:44 PM

I know the first year or 2 at UGA RFM messed up quota for the stronger groups. And by messed up, I mean that groups that ALWAYS take quota didn't and had to snap.

Ah ha.

Can anyone comment on what groups - "top tier" or otherwise - would do to screw up RFM? Is it just growing pains, or are they not properly following RFM recommendations?

When we first started using the RFM, there were groups who cut more than the release figures determined that they had to. It was because they thought the # given was "too few cuts. than they normally had to." They just didn't understand that it was good that they got to got to keep that many girls.

I went alum in '06, but I'm relatively certain that we were using some form of release figures back when I was active. (I don't really know how it worked, though, honestly.)

I know the last couple of years, the quota additions were out of hand. When quota is 15 or 20 and some of the chapters were taking 8-10 quota additions and others were only taking 9 or 10 girls through FR period, I guess Greek Life finally decided to take some steps to sort that out. If so, that's great! It can't do anything but help, in my opinion.

I just think it's weird that if quota is determined by dividing the number of girls attending prefs by the number of sororities (5 sororities in this case), then I'm confused as to how at least one or two other chapters didn't make quota. Of course, if they cracked down on release figures AND did away with the crazy quota additions, they could possibly be why. :)

AlphaXi1997 08-29-2008 04:19 PM

Kansas State University

Alpha Xi Delta at Kansas State has 53 new members

sailboatgirl 08-29-2008 04:21 PM

Results from Northeastern State University - Tahlequah, OK

Quota = 14

Alpha Omicron Pi = 14
Alpha Sigma Alpha = 15
Delta Zeta = 17
Sigma Sigma Sigma = 18

My friend who is an advisor just called me with the results...they just had finished matching when she called me. I'm not sure if the girls have all picked up their bids yet or when bid day starts!

TrueBlueKappa 08-29-2008 07:49 PM

I was told by a collegian today that all UCF chapters except for AEPhi made quota last weekend.
