I felt bad for poor Jon in this episode. What was Kate's problem?
Telling the poor man that he can't cook, and then saying that a "real" cook would never follow a recipe. |
Just heard on the Coconut Wireless!
People "in the know" with Jon's family in Hawai'i have said that the Gosselins have been invited to do a show on Maui, so a Hawaiian vacation episode may be in the works!
I can't wait to see how the flight from PA to Maui will go! Now that the kids are a little older, maybe they'll travel better! |

Kate's ego has definitely taken over.
She was just absolutely horrible to Jon last night in the "Favorite and Embarassing Moments" episode. Seriously Figure 8 Films? Would it be possible to get an episode without Kate in it? Also, the person "in the know" with JK8 posted this over the weekend: Quote:

I was busy baking a birthday cake so I missed it this week! And yes, I let my kids eat the cake.
I need another JK+8 marathon so I can catch up. |

I know they have 2 episodes daily in the morning and one in the late afternoon. Mondays, and sometimes Wednesdays and Sundays are when they have the multiple episodes. This current season has just been...okay, IMHO. |
According to http://gosselinswithoutpity.blogspot.com/...
Someone from the Gosselins' neighborhood took a picture of 3 new signs erected in the front yard. Here's one of them: http://i36.tinypic.com/2dtnecl.jpg You can't read it, but apparently it says: Do not stop in front of our house, do not take pictures and do not stop and talk to us. house, do not take pictures and do not stop and talk to us. Apparently The National Enquirer did a story on them and J&K posted a message on their website in response to that and the rest of the stuff being said online. The message has since been removed, but Aunt Jodi's sister quoted it for posterity. |
The signs are probably a neccessity at this point, considering that some people don't like them at all, they have small children, and some of those people are not the nicest folks in the world (as seen on some JK8 boards).
You know, when this show started, I had no clue that it would get as much negative attention as it does, especially from the mommy crowd on the internet. ETA: And how did Jodi's sister get so involved in all of this? Also, why has she made like 3 blog posts about the fact that Kate hates her kids having gum balls? Does she not have a job/hobby/life? |

Speaking of jk8forum, I can't remember when it was last that I posted something, but it was definitely something criticizing those mommies of being cruel and sick even. It's been a while, so I finally went back to the forums and found out that my IP had been banned. LOL The admin even modified the boards so that you can't even see the general boards anymore if you're a guest. Talk about dictatorship...you HAVE to hate Kate to be a member! |
OMG i'm cracking up @ the terrorization of Collin during "Gumgate." Since when is throwing away a toy, terrorizing Collin? Yeah, she yelled....and what? "Aunt Jodi's sister" kept trying to justify it by saying that J&K give the kids gum on trips. Duh! Even J&K said that.
I'm sorry, I wouldn't give a 3 year old gum, let alone 6 of them. |

Yeah I think alot of the internet "hate" that JK8 gets comes from that stay- at-home mom crowd, who likely has no life outside of their kids and parenting. And they come up with some of the WEIRDEST exaggerations concerning Kate's parenting, such as (and I have actually seen this on JK hate blogs): *Alexis sleeping in the basement is going to cause her to die of carbon monoxide poisoning. *Throwing out the kid's old toys and blankies is cruel and damaging to their self-esteem, and will cause them to grow up resenting Kate. *Making the kids eat MOST (not all) of their dinner to get dessert is going to cause the girls to develop eating disorders and die. *Making the kids eat what you cook (and not making them special meals when they're being picky) is going to cause them to become malnourished and die. (Who has time to make 8 separate meals every day?) *Putting them in time out and ignoring them is abusive and someone should call child protective services on them for that. *The kids are too young to be sleeping in regular beds and they will fall out, break their necks, and die. *They were potty trained too young (I think they were 2 or 3) and won't develop a normal sexuality because of it. *Cara and Mady are going to grow up to be drug addict party girls who get into trouble because of their "lack of attention" from Kate. You get the idea. I mean, no one is a perfect parent, but my goodness, they paint her out to be Hitler or something. |

Those women actually make GC look like HPRL! |
I've come to realize recently how insane the online stay-at-home mom community can be. And I'm talking about the "alternative" stay at home moms - the ones who are super into attached parenting and cosleeping and all that. Based on what KSUViolet posted, it seems like a lot of the criticisms are coming from people like that. Crazy crazy crazy people.

I'd rather call them helicopter moms than SAHMs because that's truly the problem.. not that they are SAHMs, but that they are overly controlling with their kids. I ran into one of the worst ones at the grocery store a couple weeks ago. She's freaking out about sending her 14 year old son to band camp (he's going into 9th grade!) because he's never been away from home before. I say "Oh, LilAgdee went last year and had a blast, he'll be fine" and she asks me "What's LilAgdee doing this summer?" <evil grin> "Well, she's in Austria today, she's on a 19 day trip to Europe.. France, Switzerland, Austria and Italy" . This woman's jaw dropped. I'm surprised she didn't call protective services on me for sending my kid away. LOL

I was amazed by the La Leche League leader who lived next door to me long ago - about 4 weeks before I had my second daughter I had a breast cancer scare. The oncologist and I agreed that after I gave birth I would nurse for six weeks, then wait six weeks so we could see if we had real cause to worry. (Everything worked out fine, thank God. I didn't have breast cancer, and the now-sixteen year old daughter is beautiful, brilliant and healthy). The La Leaky League leader was HORRIFIED -apparently, it would have been better for me to have continued to nurse her, even if it meant I had to suffer from breast cancer and possibly die. I really couldn't believe that it would be better for my daughter to lose her mother than have formula.

Mind you this was in a Business Writing class. How on earth are you talking about breastfeeding when we were supposed to be discussing the format of a memo?? We all defintely included that in our course evaluations at the end. |

I've heard great things about LLL re: how they can help you if you're struggling with breastfeeding and they have so many resources to help, but I've also heard about judgmental stuff (though nothing quite as bad as your story. :(). One of my favorite chapter sisters is involved in LLL... The thing is that breastfeeding is not always a workable solutions for all babies in all cases. What would be better - to have starving babies or to use formula? augh. On the other hand, I know some women who've been so offended by LLL-types who poke into their business that they're very skeptical of any public education about breastfeeding. Specifically this campaign: http://www.womenshealth.gov/breastfe...page=adcouncil They saw it as poor use of funds and government intrusion into private decision-making. I think my stance is somewhere in the middle. Ack, sorry for the hijack. |
You should check out this article that someone wrote on the show...probably got some of facts from that forum you've all been mentioning:

I hate the people who keep saying "how can she not let her kids do _____, just because she doesn't want them to get dirty." And then they go on to say how their kids do _____ and its no big deal.
Maybe its because Kate has 8 kids, and you don't! So if the kids get dirty that is 8 shirts, 8 shorts/pants, 8 underwear, 16 socks, and 8 kids that all have to get cleaned at one time. Multiply that by the number of clothes, sheets, etc that Kate has to clean on a daily basis, and then maybe it'll become clear why she gets upset if one little outing gets the kids dirty. Ugh these people |
I finally saw 3 episodes of this show in a waiting room this week. The one I really remember is the one where they visited the crayon factory.
As I mentioned, I have 13 children. Kate is going to crack up in a very short amount of time if she doesn't chill out. Why the heck was she obsessing over her kids using markers? Yes, some might get dirty! Frequently mine did all get dirty and so what? We washed the clothes! We were planning to wash them anyway at the end of the day! Honestly, you can't have a large family and try to micromanage them. Even micromanaging 1 would drive someone around the bend but 8? I learned early in the game to choose my battles. I don't buy her claims of "But I have 8! No one understands my problems!" That's right, some of us don't because we have many more than that and we think she's a piker. We raise 'em without help either. |
Dirt comes and goes.
Children - they grow up before you know it. Chill out about the dirt! |
Quote:
And I doubt if all 8 of the kids are going to get equally filthy to the point that it necessitates washing every item all 8 of them wore. Honestly, except for undies and socks, they don't need clothes fresh from the washing machine every single day. There's a concept of PLAY CLOTHES, buy some!! (From the thrift store or Goodwill, not Gymboree.) |
I think another important point is - if you have kids, you have messes. Be it 1, 4, 8 or 13 kids, messes will be made . It's a part of life. So you can just deal with what you have to do with a good attitude, or you can obsess about it and let the idea of having to do it turn you into a witch.
Plus, she has someone who comes and folds ALL of it. I don't - nope, for my mere 4 children I had to do the laundry, fold it, and put it away (until the kids were/are old enough to do it themselves - my teens do their own laundry).Throwing clothes in the washer and then the dryer really isn't a big deal. Even treating stains in this modern era is hardly on the level of having to beat them out on the rocks in the stream. |
She had less choice in having 8 kids than most do. Yes, she could have aborted some of them, which would REALLY have her under attack, but who plans to have 8 kids with only two pregnancies?
I think they're doing dang well for the situation. |
Quote:
Plus - the twins are old enough to be helping with chores like folding laundry and things of that nature. |

And if she had decided to do that, she wouldn't be a semi-celebrity with her own TV show, so no one would care. I don't think that most women who reduce their multiple pregnancies advertise that fact... |
Last night they visited Thomas the Train at the Strasberg Railroad Station.
I never thought I'd ever get to say this, but I really thought that all 8 kids were more well behaved than the parents last night. Jon and Kate now are definitely not the Jon and Kate of the "Surviving Twins and Sextuplets" episodes. They go another another summer vacation next week, complete with a U-Haul truck and all. Can't wait to see this one! |

I've noticed several 'Guests' reading this JK8 thread recently. I won't be surprised if some of them are escaped psychos from the JK8forum.com forum. |
I don't know...these most recent episodes have been just BLAH.
I'm starting to miss Beth and Aunt Jodi. Last night, Kate mentioned that they're hoping to move to warmer weather, and they looked at properties (one in VA and a piece of land somewhere else) on their way to the Outer Banks. I can't help but wonder if it's because their entire community's shunned them. It's probably best for the kids, anyway. Makes me want to go back to the OBX now. |
Hopefully when they get new property they get enough space because Kate always complains about not having enough space in the house... i def. agree about it being best for the kids
|
Now I can't wait to see this episode!
Jon & Kate renewed their wedding vows on Maui!
http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h9...ge/kjplus8.jpg The children (the ones we can see in this photo, anyway) look just absolutely darling. Bet this was a totally different from their first wedding 9 years ago! Word on the street says they're still on their Maui vacation. Hope they're enjoying themselves! |
^^ SO sweet!
|
Oh my Lord, that is the cutest thing I have ever seen. I love those kiddos!
|
