Yay!

I flew Delta to Puerto Rico this past week--and since Delta has a partnership with HBO, you can see HBO shows and specials on the little individual TVs. They had the movie on for free! It was a ton of fun to re-watch what I liked and skip over what I didn't.

SATC: THE MOVIE Sequel is a GO!!!

It will be interesting to see what they cook up this time with 3/4 married now?

I'm excited, but I can't decide if this is dragging it out? What do ya'll think?

This is dragging it out.

I loved the show and I feel like the movie wrapped up everything so nicely.

I can't think of anything they could do for a sequel, it would just be really pointless.

They need to leave it alone.

BetteDavisEyes 09-21-2008 01:28 AM

I can genuinely not think of any single way for the movie to be continued b/c I thought the movie tied it all up nicely but you never know. Maybe they'll decide a Big & Carrie baby is the way to go. Still, I'll watch it if only to drool over the shoes. ;)

breathesgelatin 09-21-2008 01:55 AM

I was worried Movie 1 would be overkill but it wasn't. I am seriously worried about this one. I just don't see where they could go.

I completely agree with all of the above.

I read something somewhere that one of the plotlines might be Carrie as a "single mom in the City", which I assume means she and Big don't make it. Even thinking about that makes me :(. I agree that the movie wrapped everything up so nicely, everyone ended up happy in their situations and they need to leave us all in our little bubbles of happiness.

Although I'm sure I'll go see it if they do make it. :o

Munchkin03 09-22-2008 09:07 AM

Why are they doing this? Is it because, with the exception of Cynthia Nixon, none of them have really found long-term acting work since the show went off? I mean, SJP is shilling for Garnier and for Steve and Barry's. When's the last time we've seen Kristin Davis in something other than Shark Boy and LavaGirl in 3D?

This could only work if they wait another 4 years to do it. Otherwise, what's going to happen? Steve's going to cheat again? Samantha's cancer comes back?

I have to agree with everything you just said. I liked knowing that everything happened so nicely. The only thing I would love to see is more about Charlotte and Harry. If they make Carrie a single mom in the city-they will have ruined it and made me realize I was right-She shouldn't have married Big. She missed the boat with Aiden and ended up with a self involved jerk!

That would make me sooooooooo sad.

I want Carrie & Big to stay together :( :( :(

Honeykiss1974 09-23-2008 12:59 PM

I agree with everyone, I think the movie wrapped it all up nicely. I know that when a movie makes a certina amount of $$$, a sequel is an automatic, but seriously, unless it is a BANGING plot, I don't understand what they could come up with.

If they think the fan base is still there, maybe they should just bring back the series instead. I mean, if they can bring back 90210 and frickin' Night Rider, they could bring this back too. :p

Taualumna 09-23-2008 04:08 PM

No sequel!

I'd rather them wait a couple of decades and re-do the series in a few decades with characters that have connections to Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Sam.

ETA: DVD is released TODAY! :)

jubilance1922 09-23-2008 06:09 PM

I immediately left work and went to Circuit City and got the DVD, and now I'm watching it!

SATX*APhi 09-24-2008 12:35 AM

I heard that there would be a SATC trilogy (from my best friend's husband). Has anyone else heard this?

PLEASE NO!!!

I love SATC as much as the next girl, but we do not need a Lord of the Rings Trilogy for SATC.

One movie ... good. Two? Ehhhh maybe. Not three!!!

I thought they ended the series to "go out while the people loved them"? If they drag it out they might as well make it a series again

SATX*APhi 09-24-2008 01:56 PM

That's what I'm saying! I don't even care for a sequel to be honest. It's fine just as it is.

Nobody I've talked to about it has heard it would be a trilogy so maybe he was talking out of his @$$ just to get at me.

RU OX Alum 09-24-2008 02:00 PM

this thread is ten months old, heh

Taualumna 10-06-2008 08:01 PM

So I finally opened my SATC Blu-Ray and guess what? The second disc is missing! I'm both Best Buy Canada's website and the back of the Blu-Ray box said that in addition to the movie there's supposed to be special features. I first thought that maybe they compacted everything into one disc, but when I played the disc, it went directly to the movie! The sucky part is that I don't have a receipt. My boyfriend gave it to me as an anniversary gift!

DreamfulSpirit 12-03-2008 05:55 PM

Anyone like the wedding dress that Carrie was originally supposed to get married in?

You could be a lucky one to get a replica of that dress:
