WTF! A boy said you smelled like his Grandma? That's messed up :(

Has anyone tried Vera Wang's Princess?

PinkandGreenJ 09-28-2006 12:27 PM

I am a Chanel Chance girl. It smells different on me than any of my friends, or at least that is what they told me in disgust after they bought it, it smelled bad on them and they gave to me!

I also do Flowerbomb to switch it up every now and again.

Natalie0628 09-29-2006 11:16 AM

I have all of these, and pick which ones to wear on a random basis:
Theirry Mulgier Angel (been wearing it since I was 13 - LOVE it. I first bought it in Paris)
Stella McCartney (I LOVE this)
Miss Dior Cherie
Anna Sui Dolly Girl On The Beach
Burberry Brit
Dior Hypnotic Poison
Chanel Coco Mademoiselle
I
have a little bit left of:
Forever & Ever, I Love Dior and Remember ME, all by Dior, but they were limited edition and not made anymore :(

I also really like D&G Light Blue, Michael Kors and Marc Jacobs

On guys it HAS to be Armani Black Code. I LOVE this. He may as well beat me over the head and carry me off on his shoulder. And Abercrombie ones too...I don't know why but that smell is the smell of hot guys.

tunatartare 09-29-2006 11:17 AM

You and I have very similar perfume tastes. I have Burberry Brit, D&G Light Blue, and Anna Sui Dolly Girl on the Beach. I got Black Code for the ex boyfriend for Hannukah and I swear it is the sexiest scent ever.

AlphaFrog 09-29-2006 11:20 AM

Does anyone know if Eddie Bauer still makes Balance?? I loved that stuff, but I haven't been able to locate any.

I also wear Clinique Happy and Avon Haiku. I stick to the basics.

ETA: After searching the net, I found some EB Balance. They want $250 for 3.4 oz. No thank you.

LouisaMay 09-29-2006 11:51 AM

My current favorite is Clinique Happy Heart. It was a gift from my husband for Mothers' Day.

FAB*SpiceySpice 10-05-2006 10:41 PM

Ok so after going shopping for a new perfume and almost getting sick from smelling literally every. single. perfume. in the whole store (I tested some, left for awhile, came back and tried some more, and so on for about 3 hours! ) I found a perfect new perfume that I am absolutely IN LOVE with!

I bought Marc Jacobs perfume, not Blush, but the regular one. It's smells mainly like gardenias, which I love, but it's not too powerful or anything so I can wear it as an everyday scent. I've gotten several compliments on it already! :D

Me too! I love it!

I actually used to get the most compliments when I wore Ralph by Ralph Lauren.. but I ran out, and I personally prefer Chanel Chance.

Then again I love anything with those interlocking C's on it.

scbelle 10-08-2006 06:58 AM

I'm a huge perfume fan! I wish some of these Germans would get on the bandwagon... he he.

For me, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Creed. Two of my favorite scents are Fleurissimo (created for Grace Kelly for her wedding to the Prince of Monacco) and the new Love in White. Absolutely intoxicating. I also really like the Gucci II my hubby gave me last year for my birthday. I wear that one on a daily basis-- very clean, with a hint of sweet.

For Bubba (my husband), I adore him in his Creed Green Irish Tweed and Perry Ellis Man (his everyday scent). I also like Drakkar every now and then, but it reminds me of jr high/high school too much. And I detest Eternity. But that's for a personal reason and not so much the scent itself.

jadis96 10-08-2006 11:25 PM

okay I just bought some new yesterday.... Burberry and I LOVE IT!!!

Nieng17 10-09-2006 12:48 AM

I'm in love with Channel's Coco Mademoiselle and Channel's Chance. Both are my favorites!!

ansturge 10-12-2006 02:23 AM

i want to try the new Thierry Mugler scent he created for Victoria Secret

Secret Innocence

valkyrie 10-12-2006 12:33 PM

So there were all these perfume samples in the most recent issue of Lucky -- one was "Princess" by Vera Wang. OMG I LOVE IT -- totally different and fun.

DSTCHAOS 10-12-2006 12:56 PM

Still wearing:

DKNY Be Delicious (my absolute fav!!!!)
BCBG Metro (my 2nd fav!!!)
Vicky Secret's Basic Instinct
Vicky Secret's Dream Angels: Heavenly

I have Burberry and other perfumes but I've never worn them or even opened some of them. I buy a lot of fragrances to add to my collection but only managed to wear the same 2 all the time. :)

MzBlue2k2 10-12-2006 02:02 PM

Mine - Burberry London, Baby Phat Goddess and Vera Wang Sheer Veil

33girl 10-12-2006 03:35 PM

Ok I'm weighing in again...I got the Intuition, and I LOVE it. I also...even though I usually hate celebrity scents...purchased Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker. It lasts forever - to the point I get compliments on it at the end of the day!! Mostly from girls though, so maybe it's just not all that sexy. LOL.

There are so many fragrances I want to try it's not even funny. I drool over the Jo Malone display every time I go into Saks, but that's beaucoup bucks.

KatieKate1244 10-12-2006 05:32 PM

I've been looking for a good fall/winter fragrance, but I've found most of them too heavy for my tastes (or they mess with my allergies). I ended up getting Noa Fleur. I almost came home with whatever Escada put out for the summer, though. I love their fragrances!

ISUKappa 10-12-2006 06:08 PM

I still wear Chanel Allure (I guess I like smelling like somebody's Grandma) and bought Ines de la Fressange from sephora.com a while ago. For fun, I have a trial size Aquolina Pink Sugar that I wear sometimes. I usually ask the husband for a new scent each Christmas.

Sometimes, I check the free samples from sephora.com and if they have samples of perfume, I'll buy something small just to test them out. In fact, there are a few on there right now I'd like, but we can't really afford to buy anything.

The husband doesn't wear any cologne, and I kind of like it that way.

joliebelle 10-12-2006 06:11 PM

i usually wear Very Sexy for her 2 from VS (as does half of my chapter) :)
i'll wear Baby Doll by YSL when im going out
and i love Very Irresistable by Givenchy :D

See, I don't *personally* think it smells like a grandma (or at least not my grandmas lol); I think it smells awesome. The kid was a douchebag anyway, so his opinion on perfume isn't valid. ;) I still love Allure, I've been wearing it more at night though when I go out and then wearing the Marc Jacobs during the day.

ISUKappa 10-12-2006 10:42 PM

I like it because it's something I can see myself still wearing in 30 years, but I don't feel old wearing it now. It's classic. It has a *slight* powderish dry down on me (and normally I hate anything powder-scented), but nothing overpowering, it's just nice.

PoohsHoneyBee 10-13-2006 12:40 AM

i found un fleur de chanel! i bought 3 bottles... ;)

33girl 10-13-2006 10:01 AM

Well, last night at Ulta I tried and really liked....

ummmm.....

With Love - Hilary Duff. I might have to actually buy it.

I also sniffed the Vera Wang Princess and it didn't do anything for me.

I would have to call your craziness on that, except one of the best eyeshadows that I've ever used was Mary-Kate And Ashley....

I actually got one once. Turned out I was insanely allergic to it.

Cheap kid's makeup (and perfume) = NOT hypoallergenic...

tunatartare 10-13-2006 10:20 AM

That was the first and last time I ever bought makeup at Walmart to experiment with.

Sister Havana 10-13-2006 01:51 PM

While we're confessing, I'll tell you that I think Curious Britney Spears actually smells pretty good.

tunatartare 10-13-2006 01:51 PM

The Paris Hilton perfume is kinda nice.

I was waiting for someone to mention her fragrance. :o Someone else said her fragrance was good but I have been resisting it.

KatieKate1244 10-13-2006 02:32 PM

I really like Britney's Fantasy perfume. I just can't bring myself to buy it, though. Paris Hilton's Just Me and Hilary Duff's new perfume are also really nice.

Honeykiss1974 11-16-2006 05:03 PM

Has anyone tried the new Dream Angel fragrance Desire? Just wondering how it smells.

I tried it tonight while I was at the mall and I think it smells nice. It is a mainly flower smelling perfume (peony I think..)

ansturge 11-25-2006 11:55 PM

in the december cosmo or allure there is a coupon for a free sample of this.

it isn't bad. not going to be a signature scent for me though.

whiteandblack 11-26-2006 11:24 AM

my signature fragrance is Miss Dior, by Christian Dior. to me, the overhyped perfume at the time that made me go "eh", was Bvlgari Blue. on my man I like scents like Kouros and Guess for men.
has anyone ever fell in love with a mens cologne and bought it for themselves? years ago, I loved and purchased for myself Pi, by Givenchy.

CarolinaCutie 11-26-2006 08:02 PM

I wear Georgio Armani Sensi almost exclusively... but every now and then I mix in Breathe from the new BB&W line (can't remember exactly what it's called at the moment, but its packaging is red).

I used to wear Obsession because it smelled like my grandmother, and I keep a bottle of Cashmere Mist for those days that I'm feeling sad or homesick, since it's my mother's perfume. It's amazing how strongly we can identify with certain perfumes!

GeekyPenguin 11-28-2006 12:07 AM

I was at the outlets on Black Friday and EVERYTHING at Banana Republic was 40% off - including the perfume! I got myself a huge bottle and a small one for boyfriend.

KatieKate1244 11-28-2006 01:11 AM

I got a sample of the Vera Wang Princess and it smells really nice. However, I noticed as it wore off it started to smell funky, like some sort of werid metalliac scent. Anyone else notice this?

Let me know how the staying power is on these - I saw them the last time I was in BR and was SUPER tempted.
