I can't take credit for them. A lot of planning/interior design/event design blogs put them together. I just search for them. lol.

Really pretty nautical theme, sorry the pic is huge.

I got an email from theknot.com this morning with "20 (New!) Wedding Color Combos". I thought of this thread. Then I thought that I need to get to planning...the only thing we've done is the guest list, lol
|
I love seeing all the latest bouquets (I used to teach college floriculture) and the fabulous cakes, especially the fondant ones. BlazerCheer decorates cakes on the side and I thought that fondant cakes would be the most popular but she says no, they're really expensive. She made a fish one for her sister's groom's cake and you would've thought it was going to flap off the table.
*Fabulous* book on wedding flowers: To Have and to Hold, by David Stark and Avi Adler. Best ever. |

I got that one! Haha even though I am not getting married anytime soon, I love bridal culture and looking at different ideas. I just think it is always useful to be prepared so that when it does happen, some things are already planned out :)
|
^^^Yeah, but having everything planned out doesn't always work. You never know. Your hypothetical future spouse could really hate your pre-planned ideas.
Ex: a friend of mine has always wanted a pink and green wedding. Got engaged to a guy and he hated pink and green. lol. |
Haha bf and I are strange. The only thing we have agreed on (if we do get married) is where we would like it to be. But then, that's really the only part we have talked about. Everything else is in my head, and I try not to get too stuck on any one part that I'd refuse to give it up.

KSUViolet, I just showed my fiance the pictures you posted of the turquoise and purple, and he said, "I thought you wanted Cowboys colors."
Men. :-) |
Oh men.
A good tip if you want your fiance to be involved (but you know he'll be overwhelmed if you just start showing him pictures of stuff), narrow it down to like 3 or 4 potential color schemes and let him pick one. |
He's digging the turquoise and purple, now that I gave him a visual. You rock. :-)
That flower - I think it's an orchid, maybe - that's purple in the outside and (dyed?) turquoise on the inside would make a fabulous boutonniere. |

I asked fiance if he had any color preferences and his first answer was navy and white (Penn State), and after I vetoed that it was blue and gold (Akron). No, sorry, we are not theming our wedding after our alma mater(s). I am absolutely in LOVE with these colors. We will probably end up with blues and greens of some sort. http://media.theknot.com/ImageStage/...arge_image.jpg |

I'm set that I'm wearing my bunad, the yet to be determined Mr. VandalSquirrel can wear something from his ethnic background, or a tux, or something we agree upon, and I refuse fondant, so it is either marzipan covered cake (yum!) and/or a kransekake. I really lucked out as I can wear my headpiece as my veil and change into the married woman's one at the reception, or rock the bridal crown. I may do flowers, but it would be small. My great grandmother has roses (red and yellow ;) ) with a fern in her picture, so I may do the same. How fortunate I can work the Alpha Gam angle in like that. After planning a wedding that thankfully never happened, this is way easier. |

It's just crazy that I have to start thinking of these things now!! It's scary and exciting all at the same time!
I'm honestly thinking of some shade of purple (its my favorite color, and not a really dark purple) and silver (The shiny grey color, not dark silver or pewter). |

I have never wanted a theme wedding. To me, the theme is wedding! Just pick colors and a design aesthetic and I guess a time period (vintage, modern, classic) and go! I have been to a really nice wedding that was 1920's theme though, I loved it! It all comes down to the couple and what they want for their day!
Personally I love a mostly all white wedding with hint of blue! I want my cake to look like Wedgewood Stoneware without the people scenes. KSUViolet06- I love the Pink, Ecru, and Grey!! |

We did a sage green with bright pink accents and threw in some orange and yellow.

http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c3...g?t=1272400611 I think we are going to end up with some variation of this color scheme. Fiance has been PERSISTENT about blue and gold, so we've agreed on this as a good compromise. I have to admit, I love it. Minus the jeans and the bus, lol. I also love: http://theperfectpalette.blogspot.com/ |
I also love:
http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c3...g?t=1277903220 However, pink is off-limits. It did remind me a bit of the colors als463 described somewhere on this board (I don't know if it was this thread or not). |
anyone find any pink and black and white theme spreads like this? where can i hunt for some myself?

Fiance has been adamant about no pink, orange, or teal. I hate black, silver, and red. So we have decided upon navy blue, butter yellow, and white.
