Regarding Alicia...I loved how the Bridezilla narrator mentioned "for reasons unknown only to her, she insists on this catering company despite having a previous negative experience..." If I don't get something in writing from the initial visit/contact, MOVE ON! Good job with the company for alerting the other caterers.

Also, was it just me, or did they have lots of chairs set up but not a lot of people were actually there? Or was that just me?

I was wondering about that as well. I always just print that thing off either here at home or at work.

I didn't understand her catering company choice either. I wish I knew the name of that restaurant that was also a catering company.

Both Alicia and Kaileema had pretty empty weddings for all of the foolishness they were showing on our TV screens.

My favorite excerpts from the story:

Quote:

She waited three-and-a-half years for her boyfriend to propose, so she wanted everything to be perfect.

The couple met in detention at North High School.

Alicia was a freshman, and Noah was a sophomore.
They also have a 4-year-old daughter.
3 1/2 years ago, she was 16. She already wanted to get married at 16?

Detention. Classic.

Noah must have been held back a few times.

Where was the daughter? Did we get to see the daughter?

I thought they had a son, so that confused me also.

Yea I thought they had a son as well. In fact, I thought it was that little boy she was holding on her lap from last week's ep.

Two things:

1) Is it me, or did Sharon look just like NY?
2)I'm calling for a sabbatical on the words elegant and classy. I can't believe Alicia referred to her backyard hoedown as classy! Now, I've seen beautiful backyard weddings...that wasn't one.

Alicia was straight up off the cuff can't even spell Tiffany & Co trailer trash. Not surprised that they got divorced

Sharon reminded me of NY...except she didn't have NY's plastic surgeon

Those two are nuts. I'm 22 and I would never speak to my mom that way. My mom has also never spoken to me like that.

Christina needs a life. She might think Dion is suspect (heck he just might be if some of what she said is true) but if she is that opposed to her mom's marriage, she should move out (though after next week's episode I don't think that will be an issue).

The other bride, Andrea has some serious issues. Her excessive comments about weight, fat, etc were completely uncalled for. Especially to her bridesmaids, who were clearly not fat AT ALL.

I feel really bad for Sharon. It seems like nothing is going her way (missing DJ and general lack of help). She seems so frazzled and sad. I would be FURIOUS if I had to clean up by myself after my wedding.

Maria has some nerve to go up to the hospital to see her sister after she had a baby and make sure she is still going to make wedding cakes.

Drinking and baking is so not a good idea btw.

I was stunned at that too. When she told her sister to hold the new baby with one hand and frost with the other I was like :eek:

She named her mom as one of her heroes, do you talk to your heroes like that?!?!

This is going to sound soooo mean, but I am soooo glad she's not my Soror. She may be a good person, but really....she is too much.

Maria's a wannabe bridezilla, I think. I really think she's just playing a role to fulfill the prerequisite to be on the show and that she wasn't a bitch to begin with prior to applying for the show. I didn't believe her at all when she said she's 29. Sure, she's not filled with wrinkles yet, but she looks older than 30, I think.

I do have to give her credit for her bachelorette party, though. $20 all you can drink at a beer tasting is freaking awesome.

Scenes from Susan's wedding are exactly why I'm staying away from big expensive weddings. It's unfortunate how things like that can just consume a person. It's just not worth it.

Yeah, I felt bad for her BUT I wasn't sure who she was angry at for not helping out. Did the wedding party or the wedding planner disappear? Those are the only attendees that I would expect to help clean up. I wouldn't expect for my guests to clean up (nor help me plan). If they offered to, then that would be nice (though I would feel pretty bad that my guests had to clean), but it would never be my expectation.

Definitely agree with you about not expecting guests to help clean up, but depending on what kind of event and where it's being held it's kind of a given to help clean up, especially at venues where we have to be outta here by a certain time -- at least where I'm from.

I would not expect my guest to clean, but I honestly feel like if I didn't have anyone to clean up my guest would tell me to leave and do after wedding stuff and they would clean up for me. I know if I were friends w/ someone and that happened to them I would clean up for them.

See this is my thing...at most weddings the bride/groom and the wedding party are the last ppl at the reception. As the evening wears on, guests tend to taper off and head out. By the end of the night there are only a few ppl left. Now I agree that if someone was left and saw me cleaning up, then I would think they'd tell me to head to the hotel/house/where ever to enjoy the remainder of my night. However, I would have assumed that most ppl would be gone by that hour and it would only by myself and the wedding party left to clean. This is why I was confused at with whom she was disappointed. The wedding party seem to be the only ppl with the responsibility to participate in the clean up.

Have you guys checked out the WE-TV Bridezilla message board lately? Maria's sisters are making asses of themselves big time. It's entertaining!

I know that the show's probably heavily edited, but stopping off at the bar BEFORE your wedding ceremony? Good grief. I hope that one of her wedding gifts was an invitation to AA!

And why does the network insist on picking trailer trash for the show? Monica? Your red wedding dress is HIDEOUS and I hope your guests laughed their asses off when you walked down the aisle.

Did anyone else notice that in one of the shots for next week that it shows her in red and her bridemaids in white? And as for trailer trash, remember she did tell us that she was living trailer fabulous! :p I actually like this bridezilla!

Those boards are FUNNNY! Looks like one of Maria's sisters is on there defending her. And she seems to have a few regular posters who are fans too The mid-westerners are posting saying that drinking is all they have to do there...hmmm

I was brought up to believe that it was rude to leave before the bridal couple had their "send off" - rice, bubbles, whatever. HOWEVER I have been to weddings where the happy couple apparently are NEVER going to leave - and 11:00 p.m. is pretty much my limit.
I was a bridesmaid at a wedding where the bridal party was supposed to decorate EVERYTHING. The maid of honor and a couple of other bridesmaids left before the decorating started. I thus had no trouble leaving before the clean-up - I left it to the decorating no-shows and made a silent vow that my daughters' attendants would NEVER have to do either decorating or clean-up!

KSUViolet06 07-24-2007 03:36 PM

I think Monica's red dress is disgusting. She looks like a big red Stay Puff Marshmallow Man.

I read somewhere (I think it was Glamour) that most brides who wear a non traditional color dress (i.e. anything that's not white or off-white) on their wedding day end up regretting it. The article went on to mention that Sarah Jessica Parker was quoted in Vogue as saying that she regretted wearing a black wedding dress.

But whatever floats these girl's boats I suppose. These trashy brides like Monica & Maria are killing me.

I will agree with you here. I'm not usually a fan of funky-colored wedding gowns, but hers is an exception.

AlexMack 07-26-2007 12:07 AM

I started watching the Maria bridezilla episode today. I wound up turning it off because she was just so annoying and the voiceover that kept saying 'briiiiiidezillahs!' was driving me up the wall.

But seriously...how do you defend someone who marches into her sister's hospital room hours after she gives birth and demands that she start baking and frosting and that she induce the birth a week early FOR HER.

She was just irritating more than anything. I would have smacked her. Make your own goddamn cakes you lush. Her dress sucked too.

she has such a unique pulled together style that she can get away with that dress. I agree she looks amazing.

I'm sorry, but this show is going slowly downhill.

Brides in the other seasons were total bitches with nice weddings.

These women so far are total bitches with weddings that aren't even worth half of the bitching that they're doing about them. The only exception I think is Andrea from the second episode (who told her bridesmaids to work out).

Yeah, Andrea's wedding was nice!

sidebar: One of my Specs/Big Sisters used to say that she had was going to make her bridesmaids work out too. IF they had to be in HER pictures, they HAD to look good. lol

Okay, after watching last week's and this week's episode, in the event that I miss future Bridezilla episodes, I don't think I'll be missing out on much.

The season started so strong. Now they've officially hit CRAP.

KSUViolet06 08-14-2007 02:04 PM

So Tasha went without make up and a hairdo on her wedding day?? All because she was "mad" at her sisiter? WTF? She looked like a hot mess.

And the other bride this week is also annoying. I don't see why she got $13,000 breast implants when her tummy is almost bigger than they are. She should've gotten lipo instead.

I actually felt kinda bad for Stephanie when everyone was getting sick !!! ... I personally thing JT said it best... "what goes around comes around"

SydneyK 08-27-2007 03:53 PM

I've never watched a full episode, so I can't comment on the show. But since this was in D&R, I thought it was about real people. One of my best friends is getting married soon, and she is really holding it together well. Her maid of honor and another bridesmaid, however, are complete zillas. Anyone here ever consider "firing" a bridesmaid?!? Or have any good stories about bridesmaids-gone-bad?
