I can't even believe this! At first I thought the posts were kidding about it being the same person, but after looking at the news article, wow! I'm just speechless. If this isn't a kick to remind yourself that the Internet isn't always safe, I don't know what is.

I'm sure Kappa loves their personal business spread all over the internet because of this freak!

ugh, what a CREEP

nittanyalum 08-08-2008 09:25 AM

Ok, I thought this was creepy yesterday, but NOW I am really weirded out. That guy was a F-R-E-A-K. His postings here as Goldenphoenix were wacked out. And I had just read the Slate article before I saw the links here, so I cringed when I read this post http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...70&postcount=3 (dated JULY 8, 2008, eek) having just read this psycho-weirdo rant in the Slate article:

The Mole. This is a reality TV series on ABC that someone the same age as Ivins who identified himself as "bruceivi" commented about on YouTube just one month ago. (The posts were found by True Crime Report.)
Maybe something really dreadful will happen to Kathryn Price. If so, she will richly deserve it! The least someone could do would be to take a sharp ballpoint pin or letter opener and put her eyes out, to complete the task of making her a true mole!

With that he should have taken the hatchet and brought it down hard and sharply across her neck, severing her carotid artery and jugular vein. Then when she hits the ground, he completes the task on the other side of the neck, severing her trachea as well. The "Blind" mole is dead and Steve is a hero among heroes! I personally would have paid big money to have done it myself.

Steve had a great chance to Kill Kathryn that would go down as the primo moment in reality TV.

After the fake fainting he'd say, "Kathryn, do you know what a mole is? It's a blind useless, animal that humans hate. And do you know what we do to moles? We kill them!"
Sorry if my comments offended people. This occurred several years ago. It was meant as a macabre twist to a pretty lame reality show.

And yeah, the "mixing potions" thing made my skin crawl.

I think this one about VA Tech is probably the topper.

i did a google search for "prunetacos." It turned up GC and AboveTopSecret.com, where he seemed to be digging for Kappa ritual info.

Surely someone has alerted Kappa IHQ to the Slate article and its lack of discretion.

a great deal of their information is also in the documents that the government released on line the other day. and that is now public record.

ForeverRoses 08-08-2008 10:18 AM

who needs the FBI, when you have GreekChat on the case!

But I would hazard a guess that more people read Slate than read the government reports themselves.

perhaps. however the report is on at least one very well known web site. i while i have not checked all the newspapers, i found the story there by following links from a news article. KKG is not having a good time with this at all. and i truly do feel for them all.

oldu 08-08-2008 10:58 AM

Have not been tuned in to GC for some time -- the goings on has certainly been interesting! He seems very knowledgeable about Greeks in general. Was he a fraternity member?

well for what it is worth, if anything, he posted here that he was not. he did post that his brother{?} was beaten up by SAEs after they found out he was an impostor. and i have not seen anything in any story about him so far that would seem to indicate otherwise. however as reported, he was very obsessed with KKG.

Sorry if someone already posted this, but I looked up Carla Sander that he mentioned in the other thread and found this...

DSTCHAOS 08-08-2008 11:50 AM

This thread is a reminder that we must heckle newbs until they have 200 posts. And if they are wierd, they get heckled forrrrrrever-ever-ever-ever (echo).

It took me 7 years to get over 200 posts here. :p That would have been a long time for heckling!

Well, you gave folks no reason to bother you so you're one of the many exceptions. lol.

Army Wife'79 08-08-2008 12:34 PM

OMG this is too weird. This week (before the story broke) I met a stranger from GC for lunch and actually joked with her about being "glad she wasn't a serial killer". (She and I both have daughters that attend large southern universities) My husband was worried about me meeting someone from the internet in person and I said "Don't worry Honey, she's from GreekChat; they aren't serial killers". Yikes.

MysticCat 08-08-2008 12:46 PM

Can we please stop linking to websites that give, or purport to give, ritual information? (Or can a mod delete those links?)

It's very disrespectful to the Kappas who have to be mortified enough by this whole thing, not to mention the other GLOs whose secrets (actual or supposed) are being discussed.

AOEforme 08-08-2008 12:49 PM

Sure. But I think the Kappas should know they're out there.

I'm sure they already do though....

I'm sure they do know. That doesn't mean we need to be providing directions on how to find them.

FlaGirl07 08-08-2008 12:56 PM

I completely agree. Obviously you can't stop people from posting the information, but if others want to find the posts they should dig for themselves.

AOII Angel 08-08-2008 01:41 PM

Last time I looked through the posts, any sites with ritual info had already been deleted. I agree, though....no use making it easy for people to find that info. If they want it, make them work to find it themselves!

breathesgelatin 08-08-2008 05:25 PM

This is random, but can a GLO's secret information be subpoenaed?

Good question. Does anyone remember if the XOs secret info was ever used in court when that drama of years ago went on?

I suppose if a pledge alleged hazing occured as part of the ritual, that would be the only was to prove/disprove it.

Damn. This one would be a shame because I still hang on to the elusive hope that we'll get a fitting end to this story. ;):p

As for the creep, YIKES! I kept reading & rereading all the threads and am stunned. Ewww...

I don't think it actually got to court, did it?
I was following it, and then it seemed to drop off the face of the earth - but the media is good at doing that.

33girl 01-22-2009 07:42 PM

So ummmm.....who saw Law & Order last night?

I did. It was...interesting.

LucyAnne17 01-23-2009 01:59 AM

I just read through this entire thread and it was pretty much this process:
1. hysterically laughing (veronica mars/ homer simpson comparison= almost as good as chuck norris' recruitment thread)
2. being EXTREMELY creeped out (tom earp? oh and the anthrax guy as well)
3. laughing hysterically again.

And I too saw Law and Order. They could have done a better job,in my opinion.

pbear19 03-21-2009 10:58 PM

The L&O episode was shown again tonight. Interesting. I didn't realize they had used this case as "inspiration" for an ep.

33girl 04-22-2009 03:05 PM

FYI - the L & O ep is on again tonight at 10.

lovespink88 04-22-2009 03:16 PM

Ahhhh so creepy that this was bumped! For some reason, it popped into my head, just yesterday!!

indygphib 04-22-2009 04:28 PM

Anytime I see this thread started by prunetacos it gives me a case of the heebie jeebies. Yikes.
