So from the sounds of it Koetter decided to make those 19 players "happy" by booting Keller to the curb and having Carpenter be starting QB.

It was such a big deal for a couple of days. But that was all any could gather. They did pass along that if Keller chose to go to a Division 1 school he had to sit out for a year or he could chose to go to a Division 2 school and immediately start playing.

My whole issue with it was the Koetter chose Keller first. He should have kept Keller as his starter and next season given the position to Carpenter. The way Koetter did this was just so backhanded. It seriously made me think that Koetter just "stabbed" Keller in the back. I lost a lot of respect for Koetter with this situation.

I watched and interview with Carpenter and wasn't impressed with him at all. He was like (and I'm totally paraphrasing basically what he was saying) "oh well, I don't want us (ASU) to go to the Insight Bowl again, we should be going to the Rose Bowl". I was like OMG are you kidding me. He sounded like an arrogant ass. But then again, ASU has totally jinxed themselves in my book. They are walking around being like "oh we made the Rose Bowl in 1986 and then in 1996, this is our year to go again". The moment they start "assuming" the team is unbeatable and that they will make it to the Rose Bowl is the moment they don't. But they (ASU football) is going on this assumption that they make it to the Rose Bowl every 10 years. Hell, they have even put up a billboard, right of I-17 saying ASU & Rose Bowl (which made absolutely no sense to me the first time I saw it since the Rose Bowl is played in Pasadena, but now that I know the 10 year thing, I get it).

You're bad at sports.

There is MUCH more public information on this issue than you've posted; I know more, and I live in Iowa.

Keller is a retard.

I'm thinking Auburn could make a run for the National Championship. You made my Cougs look like a Div 1-AA team! Oh well. Its just great to have Coug football back...I live for this time of year!

Kentucky has scored 14 points so far! So we're still losing by 17, at least we've scored! Twice! :D

Louisiana Tech.

Impressive dismantling.

These non-conference games are so silly.

Colorado not withstanding.

Sister Havana 09-03-2006 10:36 PM

My Hoosiers are 1-0! :D

BobbyTheDon 09-03-2006 10:48 PM

UCLA's Ben Olsen looks solid. I'm not sure about their D, but that Notre Dame vs UCLA game is going to be a shootout baby.

USC is sick as usual. I hope Stafon Johnson gets his head together. He's supposedlyt he most talented one, out of all the freshman RBs they have.

That Cal game was embarassing. Maybe the should have recruited a little more Ben Olsen and a little less Nate Longshore. Whatever though, Berkeley literally played like they are from the Bay Area. how embarassing. stupid NoCals

amycat412 09-04-2006 12:24 AM

SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE YOUR BOOTY! hee

USC looked GOOOOOOOOD this weekend!

the fans don't look so bad either ;) ha ha http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/mul...content.1.html

Should we go to Valhalla for fries before the game? :D

I still think Valhalla should be in our town, being that we're Vandals and all.

angelove 09-05-2006 10:29 AM

Two years in a row!

13-10 and no missed field goals! Go Noles!!!!!

blueGBI 09-05-2006 02:21 PM

Yeah, PSU beat Akron but ND.

I'm scared. Not, "Ohio State" scared but this game will be a real test for a young team. If we can hang with ND, I have hope. If we can't, oh well, 8-4 is fine for this season.

I agree completely, it's just great to see football back. Nebraska's first test comes September 16 at USC.

Do you mean you have tickets for the Ohio State vs. Texas game? Niiice..it should be a great game. I'm nervous too.

amycat412 09-05-2006 06:43 PM

USC #3 in this week's polls. YIPPEEE.

I am really torn on who to root for in the Ohio State-Texas game. Seems like its best for SC if Texas loses, but I like Texas better than Ohio State...hmmm lol

macallan25 09-05-2006 07:38 PM

The FSU/Miami game was almost as bad as South Carolina/Miss St. on opening day. Absolutely terrible.

....also should note that Kirk Herbstreet is a total douchebag and should not be a football analyst.

I am still reminded of this from last week : "Miami will win the National Championship this year, without a doubt."

DeltAlum 09-10-2006 02:25 AM

Uh, did I mention not to overlook Ohio State somewhere earlier in this thread?

shinerbock 09-10-2006 04:22 AM

OSU will lose this season. When i'm right, you can all write me personal checks, or just affirm to your friends that I'm brilliant, whichever is less painful.

blueGBI 09-10-2006 07:59 AM

Wow, PSU got killed.

The1calledTKE 09-10-2006 12:02 PM

FSU almost losing to Troy probably will drop them some in the rankings.

I am glad UGA shut out Spurier for the first time since he was still a coach at Duke.

Most hilarious thing about this weekend: The poor player from Washington with the unfortunate name of Bomar.

I wish Texas had won. Since OU can't, it should at least stay in the Big XII.

Oh, and my Ohio University Bobcats are 2-0 under second year coach Frank Solich.

It's a miracle.

The rest of the world should be trembling.

I'll keep my GHB comments to myself.

KillarneyRose 09-10-2006 09:35 PM

The Penn State/Notre Dame game this weekend was tough for me since I detest both teams pretty equally. I was kind of hoping for a scoreless tie.

adpiucf 09-11-2006 11:11 AM

UCF/UF game. Pitiful. An article in the school newspaper explained that the Gators were just "faster." Yeah, no kidding. When you stand still, the people moving around you tend to be going faster than you are.

shinerbock 09-11-2006 11:31 AM

The hell if I care, my team is undefeated, and if we beat LSU this weekend we'll have one of the better 3-0 records in the country (ND will have a strong one if they beat Michigan.)

War Eagle to that :D

macallan25 09-11-2006 12:30 PM

I haven't seen Auburn really play much this year.....but LSU looked reallly damn good on Saturday.

shinerbock 09-11-2006 12:34 PM

I think Auburn and LSU are in similar territory, both have looked good but at times sloppy, but I imagine both have a lot more in the bag they're gonna bring out on Sat. I know Tubs has said Auburn has been very vanilla thus far, and I imagine LSU is similar. I think Auburn will have a very strong chance to win if we can put together the running and passing games (showing one of each in the first 2), and eliminate mistakes. Similarly, LSU will need to get a good running game going, as they've yet to have a 100 yard rusher against 2 very mediocre opponents. I'm gonna be nervous all week, but I'd probably be sleepless if we were playing in Baton Rouge.

macallan25 09-11-2006 12:41 PM

Vincent didn't run for 100 on saturday? Man that is surprising....it looked like he was having his way with them when I was watching......It'll be a good one to watch for sure.

Waiting for the line to come out....am definitely putting some cash on this one.

shinerbock 09-11-2006 12:42 PM

He may have, I was referring Broussard and co.

macallan25 09-11-2006 12:47 PM

I gotcha...yeah I don't think Broussard did.

BigRedBeta 09-12-2006 11:02 PM

USC and Nebraska this weekend, and the entire state is seriously getting antsy...or at least it feels that way. I haven't seen people this amped up about a game since Oklahoma came to Lincoln back in 2001 when they were #2 and we were #3...actually the Notre Dame game that year might have had an even bigger buildup more in line with this week. But it was definitely that season since people have been going this nuts.

College Gameday is going to be out in LA, and I guarantee you that the crowd will be more than 50% Nebraska fans...I just don't see USC's bandwagon getting pulled out of the barn at 7am...

I think we have a shot at winning, but am actually (trying to be realistic) expecting a loss. Should be much closer than the 18.5 points the line opened at today. We're going to have to play perfect though, and get either a defensive or special teams TD to really have a shot.

Amycat, where you at?
