I only got to see the first hour, and Elliott was amazing! Although, he REALLY needs a new look. He just looks kind of Amish to me. I missed Chris! :(

Although most of the guys were okay, they were WAY ahead of the girls.

I missed the boys last night. I guess everybody thought Chris and Elliott were good, but who do you predict will get the axe tonight?

Chris Daughtry will win this thing. Why bother w/the next 12 (or so) weeks? He also made me really like a song I did not care for before (the Fuel song). I like him better than I liked Bo last year (enjoyed the Bo sighting last night though), and that is saying alot.

I thought Bucky was surprisingly good on "Thunder Rolls." And I really wasn't feeling him last week. Top 6 will be Chris, Elliott, Ace, Taylor, Kevin (just cuz of the geek factor), and maybe Bucky or someone else who won't last long in the final 12, but will last longer than the girls....

Top 6 girls? Katharine, Kellie, Mandisa, Lisa, Paris, and one other who won't last long in the top 12 (why don't they just skip it and make it top 10 like it was in the beginning?).

My co-workers were raving about Elliot. I missed him, so I couldn't judge. But I was totally digging Chris. I don't think he'll have a voice by the 4th week of the top 12... but whatever. He's still awesome.

I think Sway and David will be going home tonight.

Nice call!! Thank God Brenna is gone too...I could not stand her from the beginning!! To many excuses and not enough talent in my opinion.

Did you see Brenna posing at the end? She was completely sticking her chest out. What does she think she's going to get? A playboy contract? And I did not like her song choice at the end with all the little extra "Make some money America" thrown in.

I agree-- boring-- there are people in the Top 20 whatever you call it who either can't sing (Kellie) or don't have the look (Elliott and Kevin).

The judges have crushes on Paris and Katharine, and I'm not hugely impressed with either. I think Chris has the most originality and talent. Ace is pretty, but he would be a better actor or model than pop star. Ayla and Lisa have very nice voices, but should go finish high school. The era of the 16 year old pop princess went out with the 1990's.

And yes, AI needs to move it on and get to the Top 12 already-- or better yet--- spare us, make it the Top 5.

I'm by no means saying he doesn't, but if you remember the first audition that Paris had she was incredible. I don't know what style of singing it's called that she did, but it was def not like everyone else and I just totally loved it. :)

AI is on 3 nights/week because it brings the ratings, and ratings brings the advertising dollars. AI is the real thing when it comes to "show me the the money". Brenna, however, just came off as pathetic.

I can't get over how Simon keeps saying that everyone is in love with Kellie. I'm not, my *teenaged sons* aren't, my girlfriends aren't, and she doesn't seem to have much love around here. She can't sing and the country bumpkin routine is o-l-d.

Can someone explain the appeal of Will Makar? One conspiracy theory says that he's really the "annointed one" and I just don't get it.

One of my friends cheered with her in high school and says that she's really a huge snob and that this is a total act for the show. I'm sure she can be a nice girl when she wants to, she's just playing this up too much. As a fellow NCer, I too am over it.

Oh she does great jazz (her audition song 2 was a Billie Holiday song), but I think if any other performer were hopping all over the stage like she did in her first top 24 performance, Simon would've called that person out as a karaoke singer! But Paris has the musical lineage, so she's their little darling.

Sure does sound like an act. My friend said she saw her carting around a Coach purse during Hollywood week. Unless AI is throwing cash at these kids already, I don't really see how that can happen... unless her waitressing job pays bank.

I just got around to watching last week's epsiodes...thank God for TIVO. I really enjoyed Mandisa, Elliot and Taylor, and I thought Will was a lot better than I expected him to be. Everyone else was just meh.

I missed most of last week's episodes.

I cannot believe they kicked of my boy, sway!!

My top guy pick is Elliott and top girl is a tie between Mandisa and Katharine.

Paris- I HATE dresses with jeans, looks so stupid. Theme park song... even if she sings it well, it's a song that you always hear in theme park shows, cruise ships, etc. Meh.

Lisa- she looks a lot older with straight hair. Great voice. The girl can sing. The song was kinda boring, but i've been really bored with AI all around lately so who knows.

Melissa- someone give her some eye makeup remover.... her eyeshadow is always so dark. Decent song. Still the disconnect.

Kinnik- didn't start if off strong enough. Tough song to do. Hit a few bad notes. But it's hard not to like her. Ouch though, she just didn't hit some of those notes and her voice cracked. The cowgirl look doesn't do it for me, wardrobe-wise. The tempo seemed a tad bit slow, too, so that made it a bit worse.

Katherine- she's sort of a boring performer, her facial expression was the same for a lot of the song. Her hair was covering up most of her face. Fun song, sung it decently. She should be safe.

Ayla- surprised they got the rights to that song, it's so new. Tough song to sing, it's just really odd vocally. I think she did a pretty good job. WTF did they do to her hair?

Mandisa- Chaka was a good choice for her voice, if a little stereotypical. Horrible outfit. Someone please forward AI the memo that no one wears ponchos anymore (and IMO no one shold have ever worn them). She is a good entertainer and has so much personality. Glad to see a song that lets her belt it out.

Kellie- Uggghhhhhhhhhhhh. Her voice is not strong enough for this song. Started off terribly, got a little bit better. I think she's been getting by on her looks for awhile. The judges kiss her ass... she was terrible the whole part of the song. Gross at Simon calling her a minx.

Paris- I don't really think she sang that song well...

Lisa- good voice

Melissa- I think she did well... it could have been better though

Kinnik- I don't think she did well at all... I think she'll be going home

Katherine- I really liked the way she sang her song

Ayla- I didn't really like this song.... she's still one of my favs though

Mandisa- I think she sang really well.. ditto on the poncho comment that kddani made

Kellie- I don't really think she did that great this time around.. maybe the song choice just wasn't right for me?

This was the first episode I really sat down and paid attention to. I wasn't that impressed--the two who stick out in my mind is Katherine and the girl who wore the poncho. The last girl I couldn't stand at all. There was just something about her that repulsed me beyond belief.

Def not the best episode tonight by any means... I hope the boys bring it up a notch (or two or three) tomorrow...

Not to sound like a broken record, but if Simon is so fascinated by pretty girls with cute accents but small brains, he should definitely live here on a permanent basis. MINXES EVERYWHERE.

There's reports all over the TWoP AI message boards that Kellie isn't who she says she is. She claims that she has never sang in front of an audience before but they found pictures and articles about her competing in the Miss North Carolina pagaent. Her talent was singing. She was also in a North Carolina singing competition.
Also, the whole sheltered, poor girl schtick she uses is supposedly untrue as well.
I didn't like her to begin with so this only makes my opinions stronger.

Slight hijack -- Ayla is a pretty big story here in Boston. Her father is a prominent Republican politician, who may end up running for Lieutenant Governor here. Also, she is a very good basketball player; she received a basketball scholarship from Boston College, and she was the state's Gatorade Player of the Year.

I read that... I'll buy the "laying it on thick" for votes idea, but who on Idol doesn't? Everybody has their agenda and their way of accomplishing it. Kellie is just going for the dumb girl approach.

I didn't read any of the "back story" (or whatever its called) so I don't know who her former friend is whose sharing this stuff. Whoever it is must have had a falling out with her for him/her to be saying such bad stuff. In which case, why should we trust him/her?

I'm not trying to say Kellie is the best by any means, but I think she's getting unnecessarily picked on. But maybe that's just what she gets for playing the dumb role.

Interesting forum and interesting site that they linked us too. Of course you can't always believe people that write into a website to smack talk about a friend, but there were some other valued sources in that site.

I wish America would pick an Idol on talent then on looks!! Who knows, maybe this year that may happen. Her voice, in my opinion, is not Idol material and I think the only thing that is keeping her there is her looks and personality

i read through some of the boards and am just :eek: .

One of their posters said something to the effect of:

She won't make it all the way. The judges are just singing her praises to get rid of the threats to their Chosen One, and then one week they will just rip her to shreds like they did to someone last season.

I have a feeling that's the truth or at least pretty close to it.
