Wow I cried... That was really touching. I'm glad they didn't play some cheesy a** music in the backround like they usually do.

Tastefully Done

I watched the episode and on again online at mtv.com. It was tastefully done. I am so proud of this family for showing pride, strength, and practicing their faith.

CrimsonTide4 04-10-2007 10:45 AM

A heartwarming episode. As I watched them pray, I had to think how many times have we seen a TV show that was not a news broadcast that showed a family praying together.

I really loved when Rev. Run told his kids that he is thankful for each of them.

Proverbs31 04-10-2007 10:54 AM

I completely forgot this was coming on last night. :(

NiaX 04-10-2007 12:21 PM

this was a good episode. i don't have cable at the crib.. so I was blessed to be somewhere to see this episode and will watch it online for the season. Is the online ep the same as the tv one or is it a bunch of chopped up scenes?

kiml122 04-10-2007 12:35 PM

I actually fell a sleep last night was so tired so I taped it and watched this morning, and it was such a very good ep.

RedefinedDiva 04-16-2007 09:39 PM

I think I have set a record for the number of times that I've watched the season premiere episode. This has got to be THE best show on television!! I can't get enough. With this and Everybody Hates Chris, Monday nights are my new favorite. :D :D

black_princess 04-17-2007 12:04 AM

Did I hear correct . . . ? ?? did JoJo just tell his dad to KEEP the $ 800 after Run offered it to his at least 2 times?? . . . . wow . . u know know u rich when you can say "pass" to $800 like it's nothing  . . .u know what I could do with that???

RedefinedDiva 04-17-2007 02:03 AM

^^ I think it was more about principle than enrichment.

kiml122 04-29-2007 06:37 PM

With having digital cable I have what they call an "info" button that let's you read what the show you are about to watch is about...well I saw that Run's House was on early this afternoon, and something said look to see what it's about. I was thinking it was reruns of the previous shows, well it turned out to be I new shows for the rest of the season...they were calling it a "sneak peek". Well if you missed it earlier, it's being shown again starting at 9pm. It was 4 new ep's which I think ended with the season finale show.

btb87 04-29-2007 08:12 PM

Can I just say that after watching a few eps that my daughter DVRd that I absolutely love this show?

I saw a few of the episodes, but I didn't think that it was the entire season. I hope not because I saw about three of the episodes (maybe all four) and I will be sad when it ends. However, I don't remember seeing the episode where Russy tries to have a garage sale or where Angela and Vanessa want to start a shoe line during the sneak peek, so I think there will be more episodes beyond what they showed today.

BlessedOne04 04-30-2007 01:10 AM

I really love this show because the family is more "real" to me. Its not about all the material stuff, they actually do care about each other it seems!!

I must have missed it. Oh well, I'll still be watching like I have never seen them before! It's my favorite show! :D

Has anyone else noticed how many product endorsements are in this show?
Was this always the case? Maybe I'm just now starting to notice.

Hearing about the Rush pre-pay debit card, Angela/Vanessa's "Pastry" shoes, Justine's "Brown Sugar" diamonds and children's book, I'm starting to feel like I'm being solicited. I still enjoy the show, but... :o

I felt the same way, but then after careful thinking I realized that the Simmons family are just business-minded people. They are also helping their children to position themselves in the business world.

RedefinedDiva 05-15-2007 12:31 PM

Most of the stuff I had heard of even before the show started airing. And since we are in on their day-to-day lives, we have to be a part of the business side of things, which does make it seem like one long PhatFarmBabyPhatBrownSugarPastryRunAthleticsRushCa rd advertisement.

I'm not phased because while I love the family and the show, I'm not rushing out to buy any of that stuff anyway.

Sophist08edLady 05-15-2007 01:42 PM

I have to admit that although it was funny to see Russy "hiding" everybody's things, the mental health professional in me wondered if they are getting grief counseling for the children. It also appeared as if Justine is having difficulty as well, hince her apprehension in letting Jo Jo baby sit. I will continue to pray for their strength.

ladylike 05-15-2007 03:10 PM

I like it when Justine asserts herself.
In Rev. Run's effort to be super-hubby/dad, it sometimes appears (to me) that he runs a little roughshod over her feelings.

What I really like about this family is that you see that they really love each other and they're not hesitant nor afraid to express it. :)

soulfulremix 10-25-2007 10:27 PM

:) I still love this family!!!

MsDJ80 10-25-2007 10:40 PM

Great Episode!!! I'm so loving JoJo right now

dzdst796 10-26-2007 08:41 AM

I took a nap and got up to see the show. I love this show. This family is crazy. I thought it was real nice when Justine told Run they had gotten approved for the adoption and he asked her so "we are getting another honor roll student". That was beautiful.

Infamous12 10-26-2007 10:08 AM

They are definitely the new-age, hip-hop Cosby's.

The way the Rev. treats Justine in regards to the adoption and new baby is inspiring. How beautiful.

Diggy has got a little middle school swag to him, don't ya' think? lol

jitterbug13 12-28-2007 09:17 PM

Rev. Run and Justine adopt

I have to admit I was wrong about this show. I really liked it.:)
