Tom Cruise Says Baby Won't Be Baptized
Actor Says 'We're Just Scientologists'

LOS ANGELES -- Katie Holmes was raised Catholic, but her baby with Tom Cruise won't be baptized.

Cruise told Diane Sawyer in an upcoming interview that "you can be Catholic and be a Scientologist. You can be Jewish and be a Scientologist. But we're just Scientologists."

Cruise shrugs off stories of friction with Holmes' Catholic family and told Sawyer he's close with "the whole family."

And, he said "absolutely, yes" -- they approve of Scientology.

Cruise also confirmed that Holmes will go along with Scientology's practice of quiet birth.

He said it means to try to have no talking or other noise inside the delivery room.

But, he said, "If she needs medicine, she needs medicine."

So... you can believe in God and Jesus Christ and all things Catholic, but also believe we came from Aliens? Tom Cruise keeps getting stupider by the day.

Yeah, this is one part I just cannot understand no matter how hard I try...how is it possible to believe in two religions that have opposing beliefs? I wish someone would explain this to me. It's like saying you're a Christian and a Wiccan--I just don't see it.

I think it's safe to say that, once you've decided to become a Scientologist, all bets are off on a solid footing on anything. Didn't Lisa Marie Presley just re-re-re-marry in a Buddhist ceremony? (I may have left out a "re-" there, I've lost track!)

All I have ever heard is that Katie's parents hate Tom Cruise, Scientology, The fact that she is pregnant, etc. etc. etc. I wonder who is full of shit here?

Here's what I don't get.

Remember how when he was married to Nicole and when rumors would fly that would get printed (ie. he is gay, etc...) he would sue.

So now InTouch has been reporting for like the last month and a half that he and Katie are putting on a facade of a happy relationship until after the baby is born. They are also questioning her bump (I obviously believe she is pregnant but you got to admit that her bumb is a little odd looking and the fact that she really hasn't gained weight anywhere else). The magazine also talks, all the time, about how the Holmes family CAN'T stand Tom.

Yet, Tom isn't sueing? Tom isn't even fighting to stop the publications.

Makes me think the magazines are right.

Her bump is very weird looking, but she does look she's gained some weight on her arms.

All the pics I see of her bump looking diff that pic above def looks like she is pregnant. I mean she has gained weight in her arms and her face is more filled out too. She looks like she is going to pop though.

I just feel bad because it seems like she thougth Tom was ok and he used to be a good guy, but now he is so strange, it probably worries her. I know Id be worried. He must be on drugs or something I mean he is so strange anymore.

I hope she realizes she doesnt have to go along with anything if she doesnt want to.

I wonder why they arent getting married if he loves her so much? Why the wait?

Does anyone else kind of get the feeling that this was a planned pregnancy? I mean it seems kind of "convienant" doesn't it.
Their whole relationship has been about publicity. They "came out" as a couple around the time War of the Worlds was coming out. They got engaged around the time Batman Begins came out. Now the baby is going to be born around Mission Impossible 3. What better publicity than that!

He probably paid her money to get pregnant to prove he isn't gay. LMAO. :D :p

I honestly don't ever see them getting married (and god forbid they do, it'll end in divorce).

I'm not trying to defend them, or say that I buy into their story... But one reason that I can see waiting is so that she isn't pregnant when they get married. She has time to lose the weight and be all skinny and cute for the wedding.

That's just a reason why I could see people (ANY people) waiting until after the baby is born.

She looks like one of those child brides from the compound in "Big Love."

They aren't going to get married. They will split amicably 3-6 months after the baby is born...which we won't know whether or not it exists because there won't be any pictures. Tom will treat the kid as his own.

Is it just me or did this pregnancy seem like it dragged on forever? I know of celebrities announcing their pregnancies early on, but for some reason this one felt like it was going on forever.

And regarding Suri...I had a HS classmate named Suri. And yes, she was Jewish. Half Jewish, half Japanese.

I actually think that's a cute name. Unusual sure but I like it. Well, congrats to them.

I doubt his dedication. She's been out shopping constantly. He's been in Europe promoting MI3. If he loves her that much and she's about to pop, why is he on the other side of the world? Yeah he claims he had 2 planes ready to go, but even so, there's not much of a chance he'd even get back in time for the birth.

I feel sorry for Katie's family.... it doesn't seem like they're much a part of this

Ohhhhh, I DO hope they will attend the same pre-school! I'd love to be a fly on the wall for the Parents' Open House.

Funny! Maybe the name is an homage to his hometown. Tom Cruise was born in Syracuse.

From what I read, her parents refuse to have anything to do with either of them. They hate Tom and they hate that she is having the baby and not married.

Wonder if he'll be crazy like Jacko and hold his baby and jump up and down on a couch or maybe hold the baby outside for everyone to see.

I'm waiting to see what crazy thing he does next now that the baby is born.
