Yeah, I know,:D

Got my hair cut and colored but I will may get it cut a little more right before.

Bought a new swimsuit which I needed anyway, but I'm not too sure I'll have much time to use it, except for maybe Wed, lol.

Need to go buy a new carry on luggage; my zippers keep getting stuck and/or coming apart.

AGDLynn 05-25-2006 07:07 PM

Feast of Roses

Just thinking about Convention.

Have y'all been making plans of who to sit with at FoR??

Don't know how many of y'all remember Kalina..she's our Rec. Spec. She's emailed about 3 different chapters (can't remember who all, lol.) about us 10 sitting together:cool: We'll give her our tix when see her at the hotel. :D

AGDee 05-25-2006 08:57 PM

In past years, I sat with the collegians and advisors from my Province (except Alpha Alpha, because they always sit with all the AAs). I'm not sure what I'll do this year. I'll probably sit with the Zeta Alpha's at least.

Last Convention was kind of strange because so many women from my alumnae club were there. I'm used to rotating around, sitting with all different people and meeting lots of new sisters. They always wanted to sit altogether, so I don't feel like I met as many people. This time though, I'm rotating!

I also need a bathing suit for Wednesday. It's definitely the only day I'll be able to use it, but I definitely want to use it. What time do you expect to arrive on Wednesday, Lynn?

AGDLynn 05-25-2006 10:07 PM

Flight is supposed to arrive at LAX around 10:10. Not sure about how long it will take to get to PS but hopefully before 3.;)

I have nationwide long distance so I can call you, lol.

AGDee 05-26-2006 06:55 AM

I'm getting to the Palm Springs airport a little after 11, so I'll be there first for sure. Just look for me at the pool :) (Do you still have my cell number from last time?)

AGDLynn 05-26-2006 06:32 PM

YEP!

Hope that they have about 200 extra chairs, lol.;)

AGDee 06-06-2006 09:42 PM

Bumpity bump bump bump... because I leave in TWO weeks! A mere two weeks! It will be here before we know it!

AGDLynn 06-07-2006 08:02 PM

Going fast!!!

Forgot to mention that I finally went to the dr today and found out I have bronchitis. Gave me antibodiiics so I'd better be better by the 21st.

What the heck, I'm going anyway, lol. ;)

I think I have all my clothes planned out! (including the clothes that I still need to go purchase!)
I wonder if I will pack as much as I did in Chicago???

VandalSquirrel 06-13-2006 12:49 PM

Since I can't go to convention  and be social with all of you, shoot me a PM if you're going and want a yummy treat from Idaho. We have a candy specific to the state that I sent to my secret squirrel and would be happy to get one to you.

I figure at some point most of you will congregate to say hello, so if you want to be super awesome I can have one of my sisters from here get them to you to distribute, or you can eat them all yourself.

AGDLynn 06-13-2006 08:41 PM

I was about to fall asleep in my morning meeting so I started making a list of what clothes to bring. I think I've bought everything I need clothes wise, but I still have a few days;)

Not sure if I will be bringing fewer clothes but I'm trying to make sure they weigh less, lol. ;)

GtownGirl98 06-13-2006 10:13 PM

Vandal if I hadn't said thanks... Thanks for the candy. To all... take her up on the offer... they are so good!

This convention is one less day/night than Chicago was, essentially, so that *should* mean a few less clothes. I have all my clothes planned out now, including an easy outfit to go from workshops to travelling for hours and hours to get home. I am going to the Bulk Food store this weekend for candy and I CANNOT forget my squirrel and rose stamps and stamper pads to decorate name tags for folks!

ETA: Who has been invited to attend the Foundation Reception and will you be there on time to attend?

AGDLynn 06-14-2006 08:46 PM

Foundation Recep

I don't think I have.

I've been invited to the Advisor Appreciation Recep on Thurs.

winnieb 06-15-2006 10:13 AM

One week from today!!!! :)

greeklawgirl 06-15-2006 10:54 AM

I think it would be really nice if we could all get together at some point--maybe for breakfast or cocktails after one of the dinners--so all the GC AGDs can catch up. I know I haven't been around as much these last few years and I would love to hear what everyone has been up to. :)

That sounds great Maria. Lets start planning now..... I say we meet after one of the dinners--who really wants to wake up early (not that i wouldn't wake up early for you girls... but....)

AGDLynn 06-15-2006 06:42 PM

Who all will be there Wed night?

I know Dee and I will be.

My flight arrives at 7pm, at PSP, on Wednesday night.

And yeah- I got the limo booked today for the airport to the hotel and the return trip. For 7 or 8 of us that are flying together it was cheaper than the shuttle.

greeklawgirl 06-16-2006 10:16 AM

A few of us are flying in Wednesday morning to LAX, but we're staying in L.A. that day. We'll be driving into Indian Wells on Thursday, probably be early afternoon.

Does everyone still have my cell number?

winnieb 06-16-2006 10:58 AM

i don't..... i will send a pm to you all.

AGDLynn 06-16-2006 05:44 PM

Maria, if it's the 318 number I do...although I haven't used it in 2 years, lol.

AGDee 06-17-2006 02:44 PM

I'm now scheduled to be in two places at once on Thursday! This is going to be a busy Convention.

I have purchased my red, buff and green candy. I need to hem a skirt, get a hat, do laundry and pack and I'm ready to go. Squirrel and rose stamps are ready. I think I'll pack Monday afternoon (took the afternoon off work.. just because I could).

ETA: I made a little something for anybody who finds me before they are gone

winnieb 06-18-2006 12:47 PM

Ladies- help me---- i cant find the program that came in the mail-- so i am not sure what the attire is for thursday night----
and that is the night we are wearing flip flops / hats right???

AGDLynn 06-18-2006 01:11 PM

Planning out a Convention wardrobe is important pre-Convention business for many Alpha Gam sisters. Follow these simple guidelines to ensure that you pack the perfect outfit for each event.

For daytime meetings and the Opening Night Banquet, the following attire is appropriate:

Daytime wear for meetings, luncheons and the Opening Night Banquet will be business casual: dresses or skirts, slacks or capris, with blouses. While our desert destination will be very hot, the indoor meeting rooms might be quite cool—Packing a jacket or sweater for layering is a great idea. No denim, please!

For the Opening Night Banquet, which will take place outside, attendees are encouraged to decorate hats and/or flip flops to represent their home city or region. This will be a great way to recognize other Alpha Gams from your area at this event. ((So casual business elegance, lol )):)

Thank you so much!!!! now how to dress appropriately and wear decorated flip flops-- and if i am carrying my chapter's flag- do i wear the flip flops then too.

You guys I have too many shoes laid out-- I need to consolidate the footwear. Thankfully we will get the great totebags otherwise I would be matching handbags too!:D

AGDee 06-18-2006 03:56 PM

I have 5 pairs of shoes I'm bringing, including the ones I'm wearing to travel. One black, one brown, one white, one pink (travel day) and my gym shoes (wearing first travel day). Oops, and a pair of flip flops for the pool. I WILL get to the pool on Wednesday, I'm determined :)

ETA: We have whiteboards outside all of our offices at work where we are supposed to write when we're on vacation, at a meeting, etc. I just made a collage of pictures of the hotel to tape to my white board while I'm gone. hehehehe

AGDLynn 06-18-2006 07:35 PM

I've already started to pack..I am trying to see how much I can get in my smallest suitcase plus my carry on bag. Thankfully most of the clothes are made of thin material. That's 3 dresses, 2 during the day outfits, swim stuff, pj's etc.

I'm trying to coordinate so I can wear the same shoes more than once, lo..so I'm down to 1 green, black, white and pool flipflops.. Too bad I'm only bringing 1 outfit for the white shoes. 1 purse cause I don't think I'll need a lot of cash...they take Master Cardl. (won't need Kohl's Belk's, 2 libary cards, CVS, etc, lol.)

There are going to be 4 of us in 1 car and I don't think the trunk will hold 4 large suitecases;)

that's why we rented a big SUV!

DCDisney 06-19-2006 09:57 AM

weather forecast

So... how does one pack for 107, 108, 109 degrees ???? (and also for meeting rooms that are 68 degrees) ??????

AGDee 06-19-2006 11:53 AM

Well, if it's a typical Convention, you won't be outdoors very much so pack for the 68 degrees.

My credit card picked a very good day to raise my credit limit. A very good day.

squirrely girl 06-19-2006 03:37 PM

omg omg omg - i leave on wednesday!

Tom Earp 06-19-2006 04:28 PM

I was just thinking the EXACT same thing-- as I keep adding to the list of things I need to pack, and things to do around the house--oh and I have to pack for my kids too! Why didn't I take all of Wednesday off work-- why did I think half a day was a good idea- I leave work at noon and need to leave for the airport by 130- I am never going to get anything done!

AGDee 06-19-2006 09:19 PM

Don't hit me... I'm packed. I took a half day off today. But, that's because I work all day tomorrow and the kids have back to back baseball games. I still have to pack up the dog. She's leaving tomorrow night. And I need to paint my nails.

Is it too late to take the first part of Wednesday off also?

We just got home from the tball game. Tomorrow night I am scheduled for nails and pedicure-- and packing. Hopefully I can get everything clean tonight.
I figured if I stay up too late tomorrow night I can sleep on the plane.
I cant take off-- no one is in the office this week-- all execs are in Germany for meetings. My dept is already buzzing since all those guys are gone, and I will be out too-- there will be no one to sign checks. I think I will sneak out earlier on Wed though!

AGDLynn 06-19-2006 09:56 PM

Just about packed..well the small suitcase is packed.

The carry on stuff I'm just piling up on top of the small suitecase so it can remind me of what I'm forgetting, lol. ((Okay, just ran to find my Badges. I am going to get the guard put back on my original one and I have a spare to wear for those few hours until BP fixes it, lol).

AGDLynn 06-20-2006 06:57 AM

My flight leaves in about 25 hours!

AGDee 06-20-2006 11:15 AM

I really shouldn't have to be at work today. I can't concentrate for beans.
