This is why I love this show

*Completely* agree! I ran back to my parents' room and said to my mom "that was awesome!"

I so can't wait until next week now! :D

SATX*APhi 04-13-2005 02:20 AM

Okay, I watched the episode but I think I missed the ending. Someone want to PM me with what happened if you don't want to post it here?

DaffyKD 04-13-2005 09:17 AM

The last clue said to meet Phil on the mat on the roof of a building. Amber looked at it and made mention that it was worded different than any clue they have had so far. No one else seem to react to the wording. Rob and Amber were in an almost neck and neck race with Ron and Kelley. Rob and Amber arrived and jumped on the mat with huge smiles on their faces. Phil looked at them and asked them if they thought this was the end of this leg of the race. When they replied "Yes" with really confused expressions, he informed them that the leg was not over and they were still racing. The camera focused on their shocked expressions and then the black background with white letters came on the screen TO BE CONTINUED

AGDee 04-13-2005 10:18 AM

I didn't like that ending at all! I want closure. How am I supposed to sleep not knowing??? LOL

DaffyKD 04-13-2005 01:38 PM

I was on the official site for Amazing Race earlier today. They have a bunch of clips with the teams. Lynn was going on and on how Rob and Amber are evil, the devils, etc. They call Amber "Amborexia" because she does not eat and that really bothers them. According to one clip, Rob and Amber mentioned that Lynn refered to Amber by some vile name. Rob was told about it later and said that had he heard it, he would have taken care of the situation and probably would have been asked to leave the race.

Lynn took an instant dislike to Rob and Amber from the moment he found out that they would be in the race. Personally, I wish he and Alex would hurry up and leave the game. Can't stand their whining!

DaffyKD

KDAngel 04-13-2005 04:14 PM

Yes, Alex and Lynn need to go- I hate their whining. It's just totally irratating!

hoosier 04-13-2005 04:57 PM

A storm knocked out my cable, so I was forced to rely on this site for the info:

Oh, whatever. Rob's too money hungry to do anything that would get him kicked off. Ron & Kelly were stupid not to yield him and Amber. I will agree with Rob that they're not the brightest. I thought last night's leg was boring. Looking in boxes and delivering tea isn't that exciting.

CutiePie2000 04-14-2005 03:39 AM

I gotta say, after watching the show since the beginning...I *LIKE* Rob and Ambuh. They have incredible luck, but they're also smart and good schemers! Don't pour the Haterade on Rob and Ambuh.

Agreed. And the beautiful part is that Ron then says to the camera: "Ron and Amber just have all the luck." Yeah, luck that it was the two of you, and not annoyingly-obsessive Lynn and Alex, that beat them to the Yield.

RedAngel 04-14-2005 11:16 PM

I really didn't like how Tuesday's episode ended as a cliffhanger.
I did like the shocked expression on Rob and Amber's face at the end.

ZTABullwinkle 04-19-2005 10:52 PM

THE BOYFRIEND'S ARE GONE! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

I am so proud of Uchenna going through with the fast forward. She looks amazing!

valkyrie 04-20-2005 12:34 AM

Uchenna and Joyce seriously almost made me cry. They are SO AWESOME.

GeoffZ 04-20-2005 01:53 AM

It sucks that Lynn & Alex are gone. :( Oh well. After all they went through, I hope Uchenna & Joyce win. She actually didn't look so bad bald.

polarpi 04-20-2005 02:00 AM

I just got home and caught who was eliminated and then the previews for next week - did anyone else catch Kelly's comments about Ron's "committment problems"???

The moment she said that, I decided she is the next one I want to see go. I have not been overly fond of Kelly all along, but to tell someone that they got out of their military committment because they were a POW was truly a brainless statement.

I am so glad the whining boyfriends are gone.

DaffyKD

ZTABullwinkle 04-20-2005 03:00 AM

I have to copy the sentiment on Kelly's comment about Ron being a POW. I actually looked at my boyfriend and asked him if I heard her right. Like he wanted to be kept hostage by Hussein's army. Drop her as fast as you can Rob....you deserve SO much better!

I also to credit CBS on their editing tonight. I was totally convinced that Lynne and Alex had Meredith and gretchen beat. I was shocked and started screaming in joy when they arrived to the palace first.

I agree. She has a good man in him and he has a good woman in her. And she looked good bald. Kind of like that gorgeous woman from an early Star Trek movie.

My only regret that her hair couldn't be used for Locks of Love or something like that, and it was left sitting there on the ground.

Kelly's POW comment was HORRIBLE. I hope she realizes the kind of sacrifice that he made, by being in the military and being captured. Biatch!

Lynn and Alex....I could not handle their wah wah wah attitudes any longer.

I am rooting for Rob and Amber, then Uchenna and Joyce!

BGKdLady 04-20-2005 10:13 AM

I was SO glad the boyfriends were gone! They were so annoying. Although, as much as I like Meredith, Gretchen's whining is gettig really old. (how hilarious was she up in that elephant screaming her head off!!)

When I heard Kelly's POW comment, I screamed "she did NOT just say that!" I cannot believe someone would be so stupid to say something like that!!!

I think Joyce looks wonderful with her shaved head. None of the other girls would have had the guts.

Ditto! I was thrilled to be rid of them and their attitudes. And as people have said, Kelly needs to go next, and I guess Ron will have to go with her.

Meredith and Gretchen have kicked some serious butt. They should be proud.

I love watching Rob and Amber, but I'm pulling for Joyce and Uchenna to win.

vanda 04-20-2005 10:58 AM

I had to turn when Joyce got her hair cut. When she covered her face and started crying, it was too much. The boyfriends ticked me off when they told the driver to run over the elephant and they knew Meredith was pushing it. I seriously hope that it was more conversation or the beauty queen was kidding when she said that POW comment.

That was a dumb move on her part. Even if she didn't add much to the pushing, it would've been 150 pounds less for Meredith to have to push!

We were absolutely convinced that they were out of it. And then they snuck in when the guys got lost! Woohoo! They're always just ahead of one team.

Oh, we were both shocked at my house. WTF?

Uchenna earned millions of husband points. He said it was okay for her not to do it, was there holding her and kissing her and comforting her the whole time, and kept telling her how wonderful she looked.

And she does look pretty good! Imagine if they'd razor shaved it, though... that would've been a little harder to deal with.

I don't know who I want to have win. Right now it's a tie between Rob & Amber (for being wonderfully conniving racers) and Uchenna & Joyce (for having a great attitude and just being so supportive of each other).

I was kind of miffed that they didn't get a vacation prize; I figure the producers saw the fast forward completion as enough of a reward...

RedefinedDiva 04-21-2005 03:21 PM

I am SOOOOO in love with Meredith and Gretchen!! They are a wonderful couple and they continue to hang in there. I was SOOOOO happy when Ray and Deanna got eliminated because Ray used to dog Gretchen and Meredith. It's cool if you want to win, but don't tear anybody down. He was just cruel and cold-hearted with some of his comments.

Uchenna and Joyce ROCK!!!! Joyce looked gorgeous with her head shaved. Uchenna is a wonderful husband to supporrt her like he did.

My pick for winner is a toss-up between Uchenna & Joyce or Meredith & Gretchen. Meredith & Gretchen are a long shot, but I am still rooting for them! :D They are so cute together!

Sistermadly 04-22-2005 02:26 AM

Joyce looked amazing after she shaved her head. She should never go back to being "Sheeva, Queen of Weeva".

vanda 04-27-2005 11:46 AM

I love Gretchen and Meredith! They do not give up. I am so glad Uchenna and Grace are still in the lead. Oh how I wished last night's was a elimination round.

valkyrie 04-27-2005 11:52 AM

Rob is such a doof . I mean really, who sits around talking about how the other teams are stupid when they're KICKING YOUR STUPID ASS? I just don't like him.

If Ron does not dump Kelly, he is an idiot.

Gretchen gets MAD PROPS for storming the fortress, but I still hope Uchenna & Joyce win.

kateshort 04-27-2005 02:53 PM

Oh, what a great episode last night!!! Too awesome.

This leg, Uchenna & Joyce and Gretchen & Meredith did the right things. They took Rob's words at face value, and Uchenna made it happen. Gretchen & Meredith still worried me, since they could have dropped down to third if they really screwed up, but that two-hour lead was a great bonus for them.

I was amazed to see that all four teams had only a 10-minute difference between first and last place starting out. Yikes! That Fast Forward only gained a few minutes more for J&U!

The four goes to three next week, and then we should have a double-header episode to wrap it all up.

DaffyKD 04-27-2005 04:52 PM

I was laughing when Rob asked Gretchen if they got the earlier flight to Turkey and then they actually found one. Had he kept his mouth shut and not bothered to try to psych everyone out, everyone would have arrived on the same plane and it would have been a close game, but alas, Rob gave the lead to the other teams.

Sure wish Ron and Kelley were eliminated last night. Everytime she opens her mouth she proves how dumb she is, that she only gets by as a beauty queen. I loved Ron's expressions Kelley told him that he used being a POW as a reason to no longer commit to the military. He was so great with his sarcastics remarks back to her.

I don't see Ron and Kelly as a good pair to be operating without clothes or money. Will Kelly ask others for operating capital? I doubt it.

I can't remember, was she one of the ones who didn't want to help out Meredith and Gretchen when they "lost" their belongings? If so, this could bite them in the butt...

Well, but maybe they'll be able to get a jump on the asking seeing as they're staying in a nice hotel suite as their pit stop this time?

Although I don't like Kelly, I still like Ron and I'm glad last night was an NEL - it was great to see Meredith & Gretchen's reactions when they found out they were in second :)

Every time Rob opened his mouth last night, I was kinda laughing (although my opinion of him and Amber has changed since the beginning of the series) since he was SO confident that they were in the lead.

It'll be interesting to see how much difference there is between the teams next week when they start out - we know that R&A and R&K will be pretty close together, while U&J could be super-forward of all of them or they're all still within 2 hours of one another.

I also have to say that Ron and Kelly made the right Detour choice for them - it played on Ron's "talents" with map reading and coordinates, and helped them to close the gap between them and Rob & Amber.

Next week will be pretty interesting. :)

queequek 04-27-2005 09:31 PM

I don't like the "Jerome the Gnome" prize thingy, because it is too commercialized. Besides, they are fugly, anyway.

I was thinking that too, BUT did you notice that Phil (is that his name???) said "you must START the next leg with no money"?? To me, that means that when they get their first clue they can't have any money, but I'm not sure.

AGDee 04-28-2005 12:03 AM

I interpreted Phil's comment the same way. I don't think the producers anticipated that teams would give each other money to work in that circumstance. Then again, that was early in the game and there are fewer teams so it's getting more competitive and people are probably less likely to give away stuff of theirs at this point.

GeoffZ 04-28-2005 01:51 AM

Awesome episode last night. Seeing Rob stick his foot in his mouth was great. It's funny how the two "stupid" teams beat his dumbass.

I really didn't think Gretchen would make it up that ladder. Good for her.

I didn't think of it that way.... :o

However, is it "really fair" to sort of change the rules mid-season? They didn't have that disclaimer for M&G when they came in last (that I can recall...)

I am pretty sure it was the same for M&G - they were not begging for money until after they got to the place....or am i wrong??? i dunno.

I don't think they were begging right away but I'm pretty sure they had to give him all their stuff and money right away.

vanda 04-28-2005 05:30 PM

I may be wrong, but I don't anticipate Rob or Amber of helping them out at all. I hope no one decideds to yield Uchenna and Grace if they are still doing well next week. I thought the whole engagement thing was going to be a farce to give R&A more spotlight time after Survivor, but it seems they just might actually love each other.

Until the cameras leave;)

AGDee 04-28-2005 08:21 PM

I was kind of hoping that Ron & Kelly did get eliminated, but I guess it should've been obvious that it was a non elimination leg, since they are down to 4 teams and they wouldn't have one when they're down to 3. If Ron & Kelly go next week, then I'll really like all the teams that are left and will be happy with whoever wins. They've all shown a lot of determination, heart and/or cunning while being respectful of their partner and working as a team.

I think, at this phase of the race, they have to be cutthroat or they risk leaving. They're going to use that yield when it comes up again and they're going to do what they need to win. This is when it gets really exciting!
