*claps* Congrats!! How exciting!

Blah Blah Blah....thats how I feel!

I really think I am going to lose it! Beware, I am getting ready to vent!

I have a school bus license ( cause I have to drive my soccer and v-ball teams to away games). Well....I fill in for bus drivers when they can't drive occasionally. A driver quit ( but she never drove on a regular basis) and I have been running that route. This has been going on for over a week, with no end in sight. Getting up at 4:45 AM is hell. I have not been able to go to the gym because by the time I drive the route, teach all day, and coach soccer, I can barely keep my eyes open...much less work out for an hour. I am not getting any work done at home because i am going to bed at like 9 PM. So, I feel fat, my apartment could be condemed by the health department, and needless to say, my boards are not getting done. (they are due by the end of the month!) This is soooo not fair. I want my old routine back! :mad: Granted, I do get paid extra (like maybe $7 a day), but it is sooo not worth it.

OK...the weekend is almost here. Hope everyone has a fun, relaxing and safe one!

Our colors are Victorian Lilac (its a medium to dark purple that has a silvery undertone), and Yellow (the flowers.. my girls will be carrying hand-tied boquets of mini yellow calla lillies), and accents of platinum (the guys will have platinum vests & ties). :D

I know. I didn't get a Christmas break, either. :(

I love school. I never want to leave! Spring break is next week, and then the following week is short because we get a 3 day weekend for Easter.

i wish i was back in college. i would have done things soo differently. i am going to the college library to do my boards (cause it is quite and i do not have internet access there). maybe that will motivate me like the good ole days.....

work sucks and so do some people (but not yall...i love my sisters)

Ok, about boys...

A year ago, one of my kids parents (who I am friends with) set me up with this guy who worked with mr. tommy. the guy was new to the area and didn't really know anyone...got ballsy enough to totally call me out of the blue and say "I have been told I should get to know you...what do you say to dinner tonight?" Totally blind date and whatnot, but it was fun. We hung out several times...nothing but friends...and then over dinner one night, he told me his job was sending him to live in Europe for a year. He called several times while he was over there and we emailed each other often. He even tried to get me to come out there for a week or two, but I didn't. Well, he ended up coming back early. He emailed me to let me know he was coming back and called the day after he got in. We had lunch during one workday and have talked on the phone often. He called yesterday to tell me he "heard' I have a soccer game on wed. and he is planning on going. he is starting to give me those butterfly feelings......

I don't get a spring break either, but I might plan a vacation if I ever get these boards finished. Might have to use some sick days for some mental health! kids are crazzzzyyyyyyyy!

Our bids day is this Saturday. Oh man.. I'm going to be a great-great grand big this Spring!!! :eek: hahaha.. my little, who i love IMMENSELY. says in reply to me starting how "old" I am going to be with the new little.. she says "Yeah, jeeze.. you mine-as-well have come over on the Mayflower!" Silly girl :)

We have another snow day :mad: This is getting rediculous...

Oh man.. what a bad week it has been :(

My best friend and I were so close to being in a devestating accident yesterday. We hit a patch of black ice and went off the road. Thank goodness the closest car was about a half mile away.

2 of my chapter sisters have had a death in their families, today.
One of my pledge sister's younger brother (he was 18) was killed in some sort of accident today. Another sister, her grandmother passed away suddenly also. My entire chapter is shaken up and is experiencing the pain of the losses.

Thank God, that we have each other. We have pulled together, to be there for our sisters during this time. It really amazes me that through the bickering and the pettiness, there is a sincere and deep bond and love between all 30 of us.

I am so thankful for my sisters tonight, more so than ever. It stinks that it takes such events to refreh our memories as to what is really important in life.

So please, tell everyone you love, TONIGHT, that you care about them. And please, say a little prayer for my sisters, as they are struggling with the tragic loss of their loved ones tonight.

You ladies have a special place in my heart also.. I hope you all know that! I love ya all!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! It is rainy and depressing here...at least I do not have children today. Yeayyy for workdays and not getting anything accomplished. I am going home in a bit.

Ok--I need my sisters to do me and my family a favor. I don't know if I told this board that my mom was going through some health issues and having test done. (i know I have told the SS girls) My parents have gotten the test results back and we were told this weekend (while my brother and I were both home) that Mom has cancer of the liver, colon and lungs. It was detected soo late because her blood pressure and dibetic meds. covered up the symptoms and lab test. She is the most determined, strong, and positive person ever. She is determined that she is going to fight and survive, no matter what. Right now, we are looking at 6 months, but we will find out something more diffent on Thurs. PRAY PRAY PRAY! Call home and tell your family how much you love them and how much they mean to you! Mom is as hard headed as I am and with her attitude, anything is possible. My borther is handling this in a very angry, bitter way. Daddy is being wonderful, and of course, I am the emtional wreck, but I am getting better. The support from Surfing Sisters has been overwhelming and wonderful. If you ever get a chance to join that group, do it! Our sisterhood has been sooo supportive and made this soo much easier than being alone. I can't begin to describe how much meaningful everything is now Like mom has said, Live strong and pray!

mom update~ she beings dual rounds of chemo hopefully on wed. She will be taking chemo by IV and by mouth twice a day. Our dr. is looking very positive at the situation and the massive amounts of chemo are to "make up for lost time". Hopefully round one (21 days) will contain and take care of the lungs, round 2 (21 more days) will start to shrink the tumors, and round 3 (21 more days) will shrink and hopefully get rid of them. She will be on very aggressive treatments and also getting red platelet infussions and some other stuff. She is very strong and determined. Her goals are to see my brother graduate from college and me to get married, sooooo she just might outlive both of us if she is waiting for that to happen. It is very hard to deal with since I am not near them, but I am going home every weekend. Please encourage everyone around you to get properly tested. They say this could have been going on for a few years and we never knew because all of the symptoms were masked by other meds. she was on. Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts...yall are the bestest!

Got my issue of the Lamp today...some of your chapters are outstanding! I was reading about them and thinking about which ones the girls on here were involved in.

The weather is finally getting nice. I am a little sunburnt from soccer practice today!

I seriously hate my 5-week classes. I have a final this week and one that is going to do evil things to me next week.

However, I have 46 days til the end of the semester, and then 48 days before I head to Cedar Point for the summer! I can't wait!

Teaching is going well.. every day it get s a little better :) I can not wait for Spring Break.. I'm going to Maryland.. apartment and job hunting! I do have an interview lined up with a school system (they hire @ the county level).. so, we'll see!

The money for initiation and badges are due this week (maybe next?) and they couldn't come up with the money. They said they were going to try and save up to get an apartment next semester. We still need to find 4 more women or Iota Pi is closed :(

That's a shame, but sometimes it happens--my chapter had members drop for the same sort of reasons. How long do you have to find 4 new members?

We have a month. However, we do have a few good prospects!

Well, a lot can happen in 4 weeks. Don't give up! When my chapter was a colony, we managed to get...oh, geez, I can't remember, something like 20 to 30 girls through COB by the middle of the fall semester so we could be chartered. You can do it! Good luck. :)

Didn't I see on someone's away message where they had gotten into ODU and JMU for grad school...way to go. I really wish I could go back to school full time and get out of the classroom...I love teaching but I really can't stand some of the kids. I used to think it was just people thinking kids have gotten worse over the years...nope, they have!

I just found out today that I have to have surgery...for the 3rd time. :( It's not like it's life-threatening, but this is getting pretty old.
