Highs: This week is over! Yeah! I'm enjoying my time as a RHI (rehab hospital) volunteer. I've met a lot of wonderful people (both therapists and patients) and have observed a few interesting therapy sessions. Tomorrow I'm going to go and see my bf, whom I miss terribly. Next weekend is my hometown's Relay for Life. :)

Lows: I'm missing a friend's wedding. I never got an invite and just now got info about it. I guess I'm still invited, but I'm not going to drop everything last minute to go to a wedding that I was never officially invited to. Also, it's STILL raining. Stop already! :p

Lady Pi Phi 06-21-2004 09:09 AM

Highs: I had a fantastic weekend. My good friend got married on saturday and it was a wonderful wedding. The ceremony was beautiful and I had so much fun at the reception.

Lows: I am paying for my fun weekend today. My feet are killing me.

jharb 06-21-2004 01:20 PM

Highs: Tomorrow I'm taking a business trip for the day to Louisville, KY and on Friday I get my first day off in over 18 days! I'm also working lots of hours and making lots of money so it's less than two weeks till I get the Ibook I've been saving up for!

Lows: I'm working 10-8:30 today, 8AM-who knows when tomorrow, 10-2 and 3-8:30 on Wednesday. I'm sick of working! :p I also scheduled when I'm getting my wisdom teeth out!

suzipiphi 06-21-2004 03:42 PM

High: I had a great weekend with my big sis, she flew in from Austin for her bridal shower and her and I hung out all day. It was awesome to see her, I am so excited for her wedding.

Low: I am a recruitment counselor and today was an new student orientation and I accidentally revealed my affiliation to a girl in front of the VP for recruitment. OOPS! I feel kind of stupid, but hopefully the PNM won't remember.

breathesgelatin 06-22-2004 10:59 AM

Highs: I'm having a good summer. I like my research, and I'm starting to look into graduate schools for next year, which is really fun!

Lows: My effectiveness could use some work! :)

angelic1 06-22-2004 07:49 PM

Highs: Work has been going really good.. been real busy.. makes it go by much faster. So much has been going on during the weekends.. three weekends ago I was in my big sis's wedding and it was nice to see everyone for the weekend. Two weekends I went down to VA beach with my friends for one of my best friends bridal shower. Then last weekend I went with my best friend to her boyfriends who had a big party all day for his graduation. I really didnt know anyone, but still had a good time.

Lows: My family is on vacation this week. Sucks that I couldnt take off from work. I am always too tired after work to clean up after cooking dinner. All I want to do is be lazy. Haha plus the house is a mess right now.. so I should clean. I have come to the conclusion that I will need a maid one day.. ecsp. when I have kids. I dont see how my mom did it.

erniegurl00 06-24-2004 08:19 PM

Highs: I'm back home at my parent's place. Today has been pretty uneventful, but I'm having fun preparing for the Relay for Life. Plus, I get to play with my kittie who has to stay here. I'm baking cookies for tomorrow, which I love. :)

Lows: Um, I'm exhausted. We've been on the go all day. I'm on a break now, but in another 5 minutes my family is going to start working on luminary bags and signs. We start putting up the 1000 bags/signs tomorrow at 7:30. From there we'll set up our campsite, decorate, light the candles, go through the luminary ceremony (which I'm speaking in). At 1am is the adult moonwalk (fun!), and at 2-3am is my lap. Oh, and then Mom and I are walking her lap at 8am.

Needless to say, it'll be fun but VERY exhausting.

Oh, and my parent's house is a mess. I really love how I come home and end up taking out the trash, doing the dishes, and sweep. I do that enough at my own place. (But, I'm not complaining too hard. My parents did a ton for me when I was a kid. :))

suzipiphi 06-24-2004 11:25 PM

High: The dress that I'm wearing for my big sis's wedding came in today and it is BEAUTIFUL! and one of my friends that I've been not talking to for over a week(we were in a fight) and I called me and we went to the movies. Didn't really talk but I guess we're made up.

Low: Had to leave that movie early to pick up another friend at the airport. And both my roommates are gone so I'm stuck in a huge house with 3 dogs and 1 cat, I hate being alone in my house its so scary!

erniegurl00 06-25-2004 01:37 PM

Highs: Well, I get an hour break before heading back to the Relay. Yeah for our tent for staying up! Oh, and I'm Pi Phi-ing it up tonight. I'm currently wearing my Pi Phi 2004 Bid Day fleece and my Pi Phi hat, and tomorrow morning I'm adding my Pi Phi scarf. Just showing the love. :)

Lows: My mom is super stressed right now and I feel bad for her. She's in charge of all of the luminary stuff. It was raining all the morning, and I'm worried the turnout will be dismal. I'm also getting a little anxious about reading for the luminary cerimony tonight. I really don't want to mess up, especially since I'm reading the names of some of my family members.

Anyway, back to the track! Have a good weekend all.

jharb 06-26-2004 12:25 AM

Highs: Visiting my future Ibook (and possibly turning that into my future powerbook); Going to see the new Stepford Wives in the theater; having a LaRosas Jojo's BLT Salad for dinner; hearing from someone at Central Office that they are going to change my status on the site from being lost; getting paid $4 more than what I had calculated! :D

Lows: Realizing that I have to work noon to 1AM on Sunday, have an 8AM dentist appointment on Monday followed by working 10AM to 8:30PM on Monday. :(

breathesgelatin 06-28-2004 11:00 AM

Highs: I had a great weekend visiting my boyfriend in DC!! We saw the Capitol and a bunch of other sights! I love DC so much.

Lows: This morning I managed to lock myself out of my room (I accidentally locked my room, and our landlord never gave us room keys!). I had a meeting with my research advisor, and my roommate was nice enough to loan me some clothes for it. So now I have to call a locksmith to let me into my room. Also, I got a harassing phone call this morning that made me cry. Boo.

nucutiepie 06-28-2004 11:42 AM

Highs: I'm going backpacking tomorrow!
My parents bought me a car as an early graduation gift/because they are amazing (2004 Jeep Liberty, dark blue, leather interior, moonroof, 6-CD Changer) and they are picking it up today and my mom is breaking it in for me so next month when I get home it will be PERFECT:)

Lows: I have my third sinus infection since March. I get them all the time and I went to an ear nose and throat specialist last year who said if I kept getting them so much I would probably need surgery... i think three sinus infections in three months is excessive:( (On the plus side, in Australia they prescribe plain codeine for bad coughs like mine, so I am pretty HIGH on codeine right now... I have the giggles)

I have had to say goodbye to all the fabulous Americans I met on my study abroad program:( I get to see all the Australians once more though!

Have you ever been tested for allergies? I used to get sinus infections all the time, but it turns out I am allergic to mold/dust, which were causing the infections. My otolaryngoloist mentioned surgery for me if the allergy meds and shots didn't help, but luckily for me they have.

Speechpath 06-28-2004 06:23 PM

Highs: got my hair cut :) and my student did her first full evaluation of a patient today and did a great job!

Low: my husband didn't clean up well after lunch and I came home to find a ton of ants all over my kitchen. Yucky, yucky. I hate ants :(

angelic1 06-29-2004 06:47 PM

Highs: I had a great weekend at home for once last weekend.. Lows: tomorrow we are doing inventory at work.. that means going into work even earlier and being outisde counting concrete structures in the heat in long pants, a hard hat, and steel toed boots.. sexy :p (i am an engineer at a concrete precast company)

Lady Pi Phi 06-30-2004 01:30 PM

Highs: 3 day work week! Thursday is Canada Day! Canada will 137 years young (just like Pi Phi)! So, of course we have thursday off but the company is giving everyone friday off as well!

Lows: I am stuffed. I ate too much for lunch today and now I feel like I am going to explode. My eyes are bigger than my stomach :(

suzipiphi 06-30-2004 03:16 PM

high: I leave on Friday for austin! Its my big sis's bachlorette party and I'm going out for a vacation.

angelic1 07-07-2004 06:43 AM

Highs: This past fourth of july weekend was def one of the best in a long time.. got to do all the things I wanted to do.. go swimming, hang out with family and friends, and see fireworks :D
Last night I also started my new dance class, I am excited bc I havent danced for a while, then I hung out with this guy I have been kind of sort of talking to recently..

Lows: I am sore from dance last night and then tired from staying out too late last night. I also cant eat anything until after we do this wellness screening type thing at work.. not a fan of needles..

winneythepooh7 07-07-2004 06:46 AM

Highs: My 4th of July weekend was great, I have an AWESOME new boy in my life, my puppy is wonderful

Lows: My puppy just bit my chin, I have a meeting with a positively impossible client today that (sorry) I really cannot stand.

jharb 07-07-2004 10:23 AM

Highs: I'm getting much needed rest, I get paid twice this week and I've watched every season of SATC up till number 6 this week.

Lows: Getting my wisdom teeth out yesterday. This is the first time I have been truly coherent!

Lady Pi Phi 07-07-2004 10:36 AM

Highs: Only 2 more months till school starts!! Yay!!! I've been out of school for almost 2 years and I am so excited to go back. I can't wait to start my program. I'm taking the Law Clerk program at Seneca College (local community college...well not really...same city but it's take me an hour and half on public transit to get to my campus). After working as a law clerk for a few years I hope to save up enough money to go to law school!!
What else...? I'm going to Cleveland next weekend to visit my aunt. Hopefully we can stop by a greek store and see if they have any Pi Phi merchandise.
Also, I started again on Weight Watchers. I hope that I can stick to it this time.

Lows: I'm bored at work.
Sticking to WW is tough when you're bored and all you want to do is snack.

erniegurl00 07-07-2004 02:45 PM

Highs: I'm going out to eat with a close friend of mine on Friday. I'm also excited about this weekend because it's time for my family's annual pool party. :D

Lows: This makes up most of my day. I came back to my apartment this morning to find NO power. I can't stand Indy's power company. Supposedly they received my payment for last month like 3 wks after they were supposed to. Not my fault. I sent it early. Anyway, so I get a statement saying I haven't paid for last month and now owe over $100, but being as horrible as they are they had actually received my check but didn't show it on my statement. I had paid for last month.

Anyway, so I call the power company today, and they said that it wasn't due to funds and would send someone out. However, my apartment complex checked on it, and they said that my power meter had been yellow tagged, which usually means that they shut my line off themselves. Why??? Grr...Finally, IPL turned on my power 30 min ago.

I'm not happy at all about this. I think my fridge was off for too long, and I'm worried some of my food has gone bad. Thanks IPL.

(Sorry, just needed to vent there.)

ain't it the truth though? :-p

breathesgelatin 07-12-2004 10:59 AM

Highs: My boyfriend came down to visit this weekend, my research is going well..

Low: My hamster died this weekend. :(

erniegurl00 07-14-2004 08:10 PM

I think today has just been one big LOW. :(

A few posts back I wrote about how the power company accidentally shut my power off. Well, they did it...again. I was gone this weekend for my family's annual pool party reunion. So I've been gone from last Friday until today.

After finally calling the company and complaining...again...I discover that all of the contents of my fridge have gone bad. Last time it happened the fridge was still cool, so nothing was spoiled. I'm not going to get specific, but it was gross. Not only have I lost $50+ of food, but I also had to clean it out all afternoon.

Not my idea of a fun summer day. :(

PS. I'm still waiting to hear back from the power co's claim department. I want something back for this! I guess they keep turning off the wrong meter. They wanted to turn off apartment A, not C, which is my apartment. I think these guys need to learn their alphabet again!!

piphimaggie 07-14-2004 09:03 PM

wow, time to tawanda the power company! (ever seen "Fried Green Tomatoes"?) Sorry to hear they did that to you AGAIN.....I'd be royally ticked off. Take it easy! Your sisters love you :)
-maggie

erniegurl00 07-14-2004 09:23 PM

Thanks Maggie. :)

Yes, I was VERY ticked off, but I've calmed down since the kitchen is almost done...after almost 2+ hours of scrubbing and toting out garbage bags! This misadventure is GREAT for the upper arms. ;)

piphimaggie 07-14-2004 09:56 PM

well at least SOME GOOD came out of the disaster :)

erniegurl00 07-15-2004 01:36 AM

LOL I have more!

High (yes, I finally have one ;)) My kitchen is clean! I finally finished it at midnight tonight. Not bad for a days work!

Lows: LOL...yeah I have some more, but at least they're mildly funny. I'm trying to print some things, but my printer has become possessed! Papers are seriously shooting out of the darn thing!

OMG that happened to my printer last year! Remember when I bought that new HP all in one? I had to get it because my lexmark started shooting out paper at me and then when all the paper was gone the ink cartridges popped out too. Miranda (my roommate) told me that it committed suicide. I was really sad about that too. I'm just glad no one got hurt. ;)

Highs: It's lovely weather outside, I stopped at UDF on the way to work and got a really yummy French Vanilla cappucino, I only work until 3:30 today and the first two packages of my online shopping bonanza are out for delivery according to the UPS site! :D

Lows: My parents are still fighting even though my dad left for Chicago for the day. That and I have time this afternoon to go to the gym but I can't exercise for another week b/c of my wisdom teeth. :(

Oh yeah I remember that! I bet it wasn't pretty, especially since you had the desk crammed near the wall. LOL.

I always walk in place when I can't go out to exercise. It's simple and you still get some exercise. I have a 3mi walk tape, but if I get bored I'll watch tv and walk. Surely you can walk, even with your teeth?

arrowgirl 07-17-2004 12:31 AM

Aww Maggie . . . That picture is so cute! :p

piphimaggie 07-17-2004 01:22 AM

:D It's my "supahstah!" pose!

erniegurl00 07-19-2004 04:44 PM

Highs: I'm still visiting my bf in IL and having a great time. :) Tonight we're going bowling, which will be great since each game is only a $1.00. LOL, yeah I'm a cheap date. Also, I was finally able to get ahold of IPL's claims department. Although it's taken a week to talk to someone I'm still excited to get an investigation under way! Hopefully I'll be getting some money very soon.

Oh, and this upcoming weekend I'm going to a family friend's wedding, and after that my mom and two aunts are coming up to visit me in Indy. :)

Lows: I'm moving in two weeks, and it's really becoming a royal pain. I'll be glad when this is all done and settled! Also, I think I'm getting an ear infection. :(

suzipiphi 07-21-2004 05:19 PM

Low: I'm doing this one first b/c its been a crappy day. I fainted 3 times today at work. I gave blood and was out in the sun so right now I feel fine. I've never fainted before. I also have a HUGE bruise on my knee, forehead and my shoulder hurts.

High: I only had to do actual work for 2 hours b/c they sent me to the doctor.

Suzi

PiPhiGirl2005 07-26-2004 09:22 AM

This is my first post to this thread. :)

High: I visited my fabulous boyfriend, whom I hadn't seen in almost three months, this weekend! We're six hours apart all summer, and both working a lot, so when he asked on Wednesday if I'd like to drive down to Indiana over the weekend, I jumped at the chance. It was kind of spur-of-the-moment, but it was a lot of fun.

Low: I dislocated and sprained my wrist last week at gymnastics class. I'm a cheerleader, and have been trying to stay in shape over the summer. However, our practices start again in just over three weeks, and so I hope this thing heals soon! The big splinty-cast thing I'm wearing is not too much fun. :p

erniegurl00 07-29-2004 12:13 AM

It's been awhile since I've updated:

Highs: I've had fun this week visiting some of my friends and sisters. Tomorrow, my old clinical supervisor (and Ohio State alum!) will be stopping by and bringing her adorable kids. :) Plus, I'm packing and dancing around to the 80's station. LOL

Lows: I hate packing. I start moving Saturday morning, and I don't have a lot done. Oh, and I just got over an ear infection and I feel like it's coming back. :(

Bloomington here I come! :D
